A possessive and obsessive Prince? A dark-bellied Princess Consort with the support of a system that grants mastery over both medicine and poison. A journey of mutual devotion...
Mobeichen, t...
Saint Chuli raised an eyebrow, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
She chuckled softly, "It's just a chair, why make such a fuss? Aren't chairs for people to sit on? Why can he sit on it but I can't? Little princess, you're still as biased towards him as I remember."
Sheng Chuhan felt a pang of sadness. She opened her mouth, wanting to say something, but didn't know how to begin.
After speaking, Saint Chuli stood up.
"I'll go on the expedition tomorrow; he's the one who told me to come back. You are the crown prince; it's not appropriate for you to act rashly. It's more suitable for me to handle these kinds of fighting and killing." Sheng Chuli slowly walked up to Sheng Chuyi, a self-deprecating smile playing on his lips.
Sheng Chuhan stood aside, quietly watching all of this, and a feeling of sadness welled up in her heart.
She knew there must be a misunderstanding between Saint Chuli, her father, and her brother, but she didn't know what that misunderstanding was.
And after that argument, the two of them gradually drifted apart.
She had tried to subtly inquire about the specifics, but her father and brother refused to mention it.
She went to ask her mother, but before she could say anything, her mother's eyes reddened.
She had no choice but to give up.
Upon hearing Sheng Chuli's words, Sheng Chuyi's expression changed instantly, and a hint of sadness appeared in his eyes.
"Actually, Father Emperor..." Sheng Chuyi murmured softly, his voice filled with helplessness and sorrow.
However, before he could finish speaking, he was ruthlessly interrupted by Saint Chuli.
"Alright." Saint Chuli waved his hand impatiently, his tone filled with indifference and determination.
"I don't want to hear any more of this. We're leaving first thing tomorrow morning, so I'm going back to rest now. If there's anything I need to say, we can talk about it tomorrow morning."
After he finished speaking, he turned around and walked towards the door without hesitation, leaving Sheng Chuyi and Sheng Chuhan to silently watch his departing figure.
Saint Chuli's figure gradually receded into the distance until it disappeared outside the door.
As Sheng Chuhan watched the disappearing figure, the light in her eyes dimmed. She lowered her head and gave a self-deprecating smile, wondering what she was expecting.
"Little princess, aren't you leaving yet?" A deep, amused voice reached Sheng Chuhan's ears.
Saint Chuhan looked up in disbelief at the source of the sound.
A tall, slender figure stood at the entrance of the hall, the person in the figure looking at him with a smile.
Sheng Chuhan glanced at Sheng Chuyi, who seemed lost in thought, and then looked back at Sheng Chuli, who had strode away after speaking.
She lowered her head and pondered for a few seconds, then gritted her teeth, turned around, and ran towards the palace gate.
"Brother, after you finish reviewing the memorials, get some rest. I'm going back now." Sheng Chuhan waved to Sheng Chuyi without turning her head.
Sheng Chuyi turned to look at the two people who had left, shaking his head and chuckling.
It's good that my younger brother is back.
Now that he's back, Sheng Chuhan won't insist on going to the battlefield anymore.
His eyes darkened slightly as he recalled what Saint Chuli had just said.
I need to talk to my father tomorrow morning to clear things up. Since it's a misunderstanding, it's good to clear it up. There's no such thing as a grudge that lasts overnight between a father and son.
Even though Saint Chuli rebelled and went to the frontier, a letter from his father was enough to make him rush back without stopping.
This shows that Saint Chuli still cares about them in the palace. As long as this misunderstanding is cleared up, everything will be fine.
Sheng Chuyi chuckled and continued reading the memorials at his desk.
As Sheng Chuhan ran out of the palace gate, she found the person walking slowly, as if deliberately waiting for her.
Saint Chuhan was surprised by her own idea.
She quickened her pace and caught up with Saint Chuli.
Saint Chuli glanced sideways at Saint Chuhan, who was still pretending to be a quail beside him, and smiled silently.
The two walked forward in silence.
"How has the little princess been these past three years? Has she cried again?" Saint Chuli suddenly asked.
Sheng Chuhan was taken aback. This unfamiliar greeting revealed that three years had passed between them.
"You're doing well. How about you? I heard the border regions are harsh and cold. Are you doing alright?" Sheng Chuhan asked, following his words.
Saint Chuli smiled slightly, a fleeting hint of bitterness in his eyes, and replied, feigning indifference, "It's fine."
After saying that, he felt that his answer seemed a bit perfunctory, so he added, "The scenery on the frontier is very different from that in the capital. In the winter on the frontier, the snow is continuous and the weather is cold even in spring. It is very short before the hot summer arrives. I haven't experienced this warm spring in a long time."
Sheng Chuhan listened as Sheng Chuli recounted his experiences on the frontier in fits and starts.
In that instant, she felt as if the two of them hadn't been apart for very long.
He was still that handsome young man, and she was still that naive little girl who never grew up.
"What are you thinking about? You've already passed by. What, do you want to come to my palace and chat with me?" Saint Chuli's voice came from behind.
Saint Chuhan immediately came to her senses and looked back to find that she had already arrived at her own palace. If she continued walking forward and turned a corner, she would reach Saint Chuli's palace.
This road usually feels long, and I always wish I could take a sedan chair, but today it feels exceptionally short, and I could walk here so quickly.
"You heartless little thing, your brother has told you about the past three years, don't you have anything to say?" Sheng Chuli looked down at Sheng Chuhan, who was up to his chest.
Petite people always evoke a protective instinct in others.
Sheng Chuhan lowered her head, her lips slightly pursed, her eyes somewhat unfocused, as if she had a thousand words in her heart, but didn't know where to begin.
She wanted to tell him that since he left, she had lost her appetite and even fell seriously ill; but she felt that such words were too sentimental and difficult to say.
