Synopsis: [No CP + Hilarious + Persecution-oriented, main story in third person] [Pre-order "After Drawing Identity Cards, I Became the Strongest" in my column]
You are a high-defense...
The result was the same as Lantang's.
Two days after the incident with the calico cat, Tsurumi Kawakami learned from Mori Ōgai and the patients who came to him for treatment what had happened that night after they attacked the Mafia warehouse at the port.
Back at the clinic that day, Tsurumi Kawaru's attention was focused on how valuable the antiques were and how they could be exchanged for lots of food, as well as his promise to Chuuya to go to the arcade the next day, so he prepared to go to bed early.
Therefore, he was unaware that Yokohama was in turmoil that night, with even the lawless and chaotic slum of Raibo Street not spared.
Or rather, the Port Mafia's initial target was Leibo Street.
After all, the previous sneak attack was eventually found to be carried out by the sheep of Leibo Street. After the Port Mafia's Black Lizard Squad entered Leibo Street, they began a series of searches and arrests.
To the people of Leibo Street, who had just pulled off a heist by robbing a supply warehouse belonging to the Mafia at the port, such a large-scale operation meant that their scheme had been exposed.
So that night, not only did the port mascot make a big move, but the people of Lei Bo Street who were involved were also very restless. They were afraid, apprehensive, and also guilty.
It wasn't until a member of a small gang was arrested that the unease that had been weighing on their hearts finally found an outlet. But before they could take any action, new news arrived.
Because that thug was extremely timid, before the port Mafia could even make a move, he immediately spilled everything he knew.
However, his status was too low to access the more crucial information from above, so he only knew which organizations and groups were involved in the robbery, but knew nothing about the planning and organization of the event.
The Mafia officers at the port initially thought there had been significant progress on the missing smuggled goods, but when they found out it was about the looting of the supply warehouse, the officers were immediately disappointed.
Although the looting of the supply warehouse would be a big deal under normal circumstances, it was less of a concern when the leader lost the batch of smuggled goods that he valued most.
Tsurumi Kawakami blinked and urged, "And then? What happened to that person? Did the port Mafia find the lost cargo in the end?"
The man who spoke smiled and said, "They must have found it, otherwise they wouldn't have withdrawn from Leibo Street."
Upon hearing his words, a hint of surprise flashed in Tsurumi Kawakami's eyes, and he turned to look at Mori Ougai. After all, the smuggled goods that were lost were with them and Chuuya; how could the Port Mafia possibly find them?
Mori Ougai paused, exchanged a glance with him, and then casually mentioned the location where the Mafia had found the item at the port.
The man didn't notice anything amiss. Instead, he slapped his thigh, looking rather smug. He said nonchalantly, "I happened to see it that day. They found it near the river in the garbage dump."
After saying that, fearing they wouldn't believe him, he added, "I didn't dare get too close. I only saw them searching around and finding something. The black lizards' men started working on it, running back and forth several times."
Upon hearing the location mentioned, Tsurumi Kawakami's expression immediately showed a look of sudden realization.
After seeing the person off, he ran to the outside of Morio and said impatiently, "I remember now, that night Dazai told me and Chuuya to throw those imitation ornaments there."
As Tsurumi Kawakami spoke, he turned to look at Dazai Osamu, who was coming down from upstairs, his clear golden eyes filled with an urgent question.
Dazai Osamu stood lazily on the stairs, leaning against the handrail, seemingly unconcerned about the gazes directed at him.
He calmly went downstairs, smiled and nodded at Mori Ougai and Tsurumi Kawa, saying, "Yes, it was my order."
Mori Ōgai was somewhat surprised, but not much. He knew that with Dazai Osamu involved, the aftermath of this matter could be handled smoothly.
So he didn't ask any more questions, smiled and praised her a few times, then turned back to his desk to continue working.
Tsurumi Kawaru turned to look at the two of them, blinked, and seemed confused. He walked to the sofa, sat down, and asked, "Dazai, did you think of this back then? Is that why you had me and Chuuya do this?"
Dazai Osamu nestled into the sofa, leaning against a cushion, casually lifting his eyelids to glance at him, and said sarcastically, "Only now you've realized it? You two muscle-bound idiots don't even think about the consequences."
Tsurumi Kawakami deliberately ignored the first half of the sentence, revealing a shy smile, a small dimple immediately appearing on his cheek. He said sweetly, "Dazai, thanks to you."
Seeing him like this, Dazai Osamu, who was feeling very uncomfortable, showed a look of horror on his face, rubbed his arms with both hands, and then suddenly shuddered, shaking off goosebumps.
Tsurumi Kawa didn't notice his exaggerated expression. After thanking him, he lowered his head and muttered that he would go to find Chuuya in the afternoon and tell him about it.
Dazai Osamu pursed his lips, somewhat speechless, glanced at him sideways, and said bluntly, "Go by yourself if you want to, don't drag me along."
Who would want to spend all day going to see the little dwarf? He certainly doesn't.
-
After finishing lunch, Tsurumi Kawaru greeted Mori Ougai, who was resting upstairs, and then left the clinic, jogging to find Nakahara Chuuya.
The midday sun in May was quite intense; although it wasn't quite summer yet, the weather was already rather hot. He ran very fast, the hem of his white shirt billowing in the wind, and the wisps of black hair around his face flying up with it.
Tsurumi Kawakuri had traveled this road leading to the sheep territory many times, so when he saw a black car parked on the side of the road, he couldn't help but slow down and take a closer look.
Upon seeing the people sitting in the driver's seat and the passenger seat, Tsurumi Kawakami's eyes widened in surprise, his mouth slightly agape, and he braked to a stop.
Tsurumi hesitated for a few seconds, staring intently at the person inside the car. Confirming he wasn't mistaken, he walked to the passenger door and tapped the window with his finger.
As he walked in, the people inside the car noticed his presence.
The car window was slowly rolled down, and a familiar person was sitting in the passenger seat.
Tsurumi Kawaru bent over, gripping the car window with both hands. He peered inside and carefully examined the person inside: "Chuuya, it really is you. What are you doing in the car?"
His tone was very familiar, and he kept glancing at the long-haired young man in the driver's seat as he spoke.
This person, Tsurumi Kawakami, looked familiar; he was the same person he'd seen at the clinic a couple of days ago. Because the man was wearing a black overcoat despite the sweltering heat, he had a very strong impression of him.
When Chuuya Nakahara saw him, a hint of panic flashed in his eyes. Although he quickly concealed it, it was still noticed by Rando who was standing next to him.
He hadn't forgotten what happened at the clinic a few days ago, so he was curious about Nakahara Chuuya's reaction. It wasn't until he heard their familiar tone that he understood their relationship.
Chuuya Nakahara still looked a little nervous, but he tried his best to hide it, pretending to be normal, and said, "Ryu, what are you doing here? Did you go to Yang to find me?"
When asked the first question, Chuuya Nakahara quickly realized that this road led straight to the Sheep Territory, and Tsurumi River's only purpose in taking this road was to find him.
Tsurumi Kawakami's attention was drawn back, and he withdrew his gaze from the other person.
He nodded and smiled at Chuuya, then leaned closer and whispered solemnly, "I just found out about the Port Mafia coming to Leibo Street. Those ornaments can be exchanged for a lot of money. Chuuya, you must hide them well and make sure no one else finds them."
The space inside the car was only so big, and since the five senses of a superhuman are beyond those of an ordinary person, even the small voice of Tsurumi Kawa was clearly audible to Randou, who was sitting in the driver's seat.
It was precisely because he heard it so clearly that Lantang was so surprised. Based on the keywords in the words, he immediately guessed the batch of smuggled goods that the port Mafia had lost.
As a superhuman, Chuuya Nakahara was well aware of the importance of heightened senses. He hadn't expected Tsurumi Ryu to bring this up, and in his shock, it was too late to salvage the situation. He could only listen stiffly.
He nodded stiffly to Tsurumi Kawa, indicating that he knew and would take good care of those things.
Seeing his serious attitude, Tsurumi Kawa was immediately relieved. Then, he looked past him at the long-haired young man and, thinking that the other party was Mori Ougai's information client, he smiled.
"It's you. I wanted to ask you last time I saw you, are you not in good health and therefore very sensitive to the cold?"
Looking at his tightly wrapped black overcoat, Tsurumi Kawa asked with some curiosity.
Chuuya Nakahara turned to look at Rando, then looked at him in surprise: "Ryu, you actually know Rando?"
"So your name is Rando." Tsurumi Kawa said belatedly, then nodded to Nakahara Chuuya, "Yeah, I saw Rando at the clinic after I finished playing games that day."
After Tsurumi Kawa finished speaking, he suddenly remembered something, glanced at the two people in the car, and asked, "By the way, what are you doing?"
Chuuya Nakahara murmured a few times, a hint of melancholy in his eyes, and said, "Ryu, you know me. I was taken in by Shirase. I want to find out about my background."
Tsurumi Kawakami's round, golden eyes darted around, clearly unsure what this had to do with Rando. However, he still offered a reassuring remark before asking, "Then, Chuuya, do you have any clues?"
Chuuya Nakahara's gaze drifted, subtly sweeping over Rando. Recalling what the other had just said, he was almost certain that Rando was referring to him.
He hesitated for a moment about whether to tell him, but was interrupted by the sudden appearance of Tsurumi Kawa. Now that he had calmed down, Nakahara Chuuya thought for a moment and decided not to tell him for the time being.
He nodded slightly to Tsurumi Kawa and said, "Yes, we have a general direction."
After saying that, he turned and said goodbye to Lantang.
Tsurumi Kawakami stepped back a few paces to make room, and Nakahara Chuuya opened the car door and got out of the passenger seat.
The two stood beside the car, and he waved goodbye to Lantang.
Lantang understood that today's conversation had to end here. He didn't say much, but just gave Nakahara Chuuya a deep look, nodded to the two of them, started the car, and drove away.
