Ji Qian thought she was having a bad day. In five years in the entertainment industry, she was still a barely known, faded starlet, with a pile of weird black gossip accusations. Recently, people e...
Director Liu became somewhat agitated, and Ji Qian finally understood, quickly explaining:
“Mi Yesi was looking for an assistant director, so I brought her along. Meng Jie and the others came to have breakfast with me, and since I didn’t have an excuse to refuse, I just brought them along too.”
Looking at Ji Qian's innocent face, and then at the five curious guests behind him, Director Liu felt his stomach churning again.
"Teacher Ji, all ready." Following Ji Qian's instructions, the assistant director tied the rope to the ladder. Ji Qian tugged at it a couple of times to make sure it was secure, then turned to Director Liu and said...
"Director Liu, everything I did next was to subdue the female ghost, and it had absolutely nothing to do with my own wishes. I hope you can understand."
Director Liu was only interested in getting rid of the time bomb in his stomach as soon as possible, and didn't care what Ji Qian said at all. He just agreed readily.
Ji Qian glanced at Han Mengyao and saw that the other party held up her phone, which was still recording. Ji Qian was finally relieved. She was still worried that she would be sued because of this.
Ji Qian grabbed the remaining hemp rope from the ladder, wrapped it around Director Liu's legs a few times, tied a knot that Director Liu had never seen before, and finally pulled hard on the rope.
Director Liu felt dizzy and disoriented. When he came to his senses, he found himself hanging upside down on the ladder.
At the bottom of the ladder, Ji Qian saw that Director Liu had reached the right height, so she tied the rope in her hand to the ladder, turned around and called Xu Qi and Zhao Chengyuan to come over and help the assistant director hold the ladder. She then carried the salt water up the ladder.
Ji Qian climbed very quickly and soon reached the opposite side of Director Liu.
"Ready!" Ji Qian said, and then splashed the salt water in her hand onto Director Liu.
Director Liu flinched violently from the icy salt water, and Ji Qian seized the opportunity to kick him several times in the stomach, muttering something as she did so.
"One foot shakes heaven and earth! Two feet clear the ghosts and gods! The desolate land of Bashan and Chushui is resbonsibily! The spring breeze of reform blows across the land, our Director Liu must live up to expectations!"
A few seconds later, a plume of black smoke shot out from above Director Liu's head.
This plume of black smoke was very strange; instead of rising upwards, it drifted towards the ground.
Seeing this, Ji Qian quickly climbed down the ladder, picked up a Coke bottle that had been prepared in advance, and steadily caught the gray soul body wrapped in black smoke.
Ji Qian carefully placed the Coke bottle on the table, then turned to the assistant director below the ladder and said, "We can let Director Liu down once the black smoke has completely dissipated."
Before the assistant director could react, he saw Ji Qian leading Han Mengyao, Han Mengyao pulling Xu Qi, Xu Qi dragging Zhao Chengyuan, and Zhao Chengyuan pushing Ying Xu's wheelchair with one hand as they walked out of the conference hall.
Only Mi Yesi was left who was still confused about what had happened, looking at Director Liu hanging on the ladder with a helpless expression.
After leaving the conference room, Ji Qian and the others did not go to the restaurant, but instead went to Ji Qian's room.
"Sister Qian, you hit pretty hard just now, I was scared." Xu Qi said to Ji Qian, sitting on one of the only two chairs in the room.
Ji Qian was tidying up her messy bags, speaking without turning her head: "I hit you harder last time, you might have lost your memory from the beating."
"How could that be? You didn't hit my head!"
Ji Qian suddenly stopped what she was doing, straightened up and looked at Xu Qi, who had a sunny face, with pity, then shook her head and said nothing.
"What's in that bottle?" Ying Xu asked. Ji Qian then remembered that Ying Xu and Zhao Chengyuan didn't know she could see ghosts. Just as Ji Qian was about to give a vague answer, she heard, "Qianqian, look!"
Han Mengyao held up her phone and showed it to Ji Qian. Everyone else also crowded around to look. Ji Qian only glanced at it before knowing that she no longer needed to make up excuses to fool Ying Xu.
The Weibo trending topics list, from number one to number ten, all had a remarkably peculiar style, with almost every post incorporating varying degrees of supernatural elements, such as:
#Exploring the Memoirs of a Thousand-Year-Old Ghost#
#Those few things I had to tell about my encounters with ghosts and monsters#
#Is A Chinese Ghost Story Actually a Fictional Novel? Man Confesses to Falling in Love with a Female Ghost#
#The Ghost Involved Uncovers an Age-Old Mystery#
While the three unsuspecting men were still completely bewildered, thinking it was a publicity stunt for a new drama, Ji Qian and Han Mengyao realized almost instantly what had happened.
Ji Qian took out her phone and opened the news interface, and sure enough, she saw the news that the "new policy" Director Liu had mentioned had been officially promulgated.
Ji Qian clicked in to take a look and found that this so-called "new policy" was actually more like a complete set of laws related to ghosts.
This document not only provides channels for humans to seek help and means of self-rescue when encountering ghosts, but also stipulates that humans must not wantonly harm, beat, or insult harmless ghosts.
As Ji Qian looked at it, she felt the bottle in her hand suddenly become scalding hot. She had hurt and beaten ghosts quite a bit before, and there was even video evidence of the two most recent incidents!
Ji Qian suddenly remembered that Master Bu Chang had once said that she would one day have a government job. Could he be talking about prison?!
Just as Ji Qian was feeling a chill run down her spine, she received another group message from the production team:
Dear Teacher Ji, due to special circumstances, our program will be undergoing a revamp soon. We will have a meeting with all the teachers this afternoon to discuss this matter. Please arrive at the hotel conference hall promptly at 2 PM.
At 1:30 PM, Ji Qian arrived at the conference hall first, carrying a Coke bottle. Director Liu, who had just been put down, was directing the staff to set up the venue and did not notice Ji Qian's arrival.
"Director Liu," Ji Qian's voice sounded from behind. Director Liu shuddered reflexively, and when he turned around, the wariness and fear on his face hadn't yet faded.
