Description

Su Ying transmigrated into the 1970s from another world, finding herself in the body of a woman who suffered a heart attack after hearing her government-assigned husband wanted a divorce.

Without hesitation, Su Ying divorced him. Determined to stay on the island, she took her younger brother and daughter to the matchmaking market. She secretly prayed:

“Can I have a widower-style marriage where we only raise kids and don’t need to fulfill spousal duties?”

“That soldier over there with two kids seems like a good match. We’re both divorced with kids; if he’s up for an agreement to co-parent, that would be perfect.”

Han Jingyuan had just finished a long-term mission and was reassigned to the island's military base. Six years ago, due to special circumstances, he entered a contract marriage, which his ex-wife had eagerly terminated. Now single with two children, he found himself at the matchmaking market.

Overhearing Su Ying's thoughts about an agreement to co-parent, Han Jingyuan found her requirements aligned with his. Saluting her, he asked, “Comrade, interested in an agreement to raise kids together?”

Su Ying nodded. The next day, they registered their marriage and began their chaotic yet "widower-style" life on the island.

The military base's wives and aunties pitied her, betting that the new Mrs. Han wouldn't last three months before Han Jingyuan’s mischievous kids drove her away.

But Su Ying found it manageable—especially with her secret stash of resources from her spatial dimension. Raising kids here was much easier than fighting monsters in her previous life.

Just as they settled down, Han Jingyuan was sent on another long-term mission. Facing their four children who were constantly bickering, he worriedly asked his new wife, “Can you handle them alone?”

The newlywed Su Ying smiled sweetly and said, “It’s a bit tiring raising four kids on my own, but you should come back early.”

“If you don’t come back, it’s fine. I’ll raise them to be chubby and obedient, even more disciplined than you.”

When Han Jingyuan finally returned, he was bombarded with complaints:

“Your wife hit the kids!”

“Your wife doesn’t feed the kids!”

“Your wife climbed trees with your kids!”

Returning in alarm, Han Jingyuan found his children healthy, chubby, and more obedient to Su Ying than to him.

Years later, when the children were grown, Su Ying told him she wanted to leave and proposed a divorce, as per their agreement.

For the first time, the stoic and emotionally distant Han Jingyuan pleaded in a hoarse voice, “I can hear everything you think. Can we not divorce?”
