Wang Peng has been reborn. He has returned to the day when his father forced him to give his college admission notice to his younger brother and dropped out of school to work and support his brothe...
This question left Wang Peng at a loss for words.
Li Mengjiao smiled bitterly, "I study until 11 p.m. every day, so why can't my grades beat yours? Am I dumber than you?"
"How about this, I'll deliberately get a few questions wrong on the final exam so you can get first place," Wang Peng said.
"You...you're so annoying!" Li Mengjiao punched him lightly with her little fist.
Wang Peng laughed and said, "Staying up late to study is not good; it will affect your classroom efficiency the next day."
"Also, don't be obsessed with rankings. What's the use of high school rankings? College entrance exam scores are the most important," he added.
"Hmm." Li Mengjiao stopped talking.
The road home was bumpy and uneven, and Li Mengjiao gripped Wang Peng's clothes with both hands.
The lights were on at the Li family's gate, and Li Longfei was sitting inside the gatehouse reading a book.
"You're back." He stood up, carrying his books, and said with a smile, "Xiao Peng, let's go see the Battle of Taierzhuang."
The two went to the main room, and Li Longfei turned on the television and put in the videotape.
Li Mengjiao wasn't in the mood to review her lessons, so she decided to relax and sat down next to Wang Peng to watch TV.
This is an old movie that tells the story of the Battle of Xuzhou during the War of Resistance against Japan, in which the National Revolutionary Army and the Japanese invaders fought fiercely in Taierzhuang.
In his previous life, Wang Peng had seen this movie.
Watching it from beginning to end, I couldn't help but sigh; our ancestors had it so tough.
"The quality of this videotape is excellent; it should be a high-quality product," he commented.
“It has to be top quality,” Li Longfei said. “There are cheaper videotapes in the special economic zone, but I didn’t take them.”
Wang Peng glanced at his watch; it was already 11 p.m.
"Uncle, I'm going back to sleep first. You can prepare the videotapes of New Dragon Inn and Fight Back to School."
"Principal Xu's idea is to show the videos to the teachers in the administration building after showing the videos to the teachers with the same name."
"This is free, it doesn't cost any money."
Wang Peng said.
“No problem,” Li Longfei said. “Final exams are coming up soon, so don’t worry about it. I’ll handle it myself.”
A few days later, the final exams arrived.
After the exams, we'll be on holiday; the Chinese New Year is just around the corner.
The exam lasted two days, with the last subject being history, followed by a movie screening.
That afternoon, Li Longfei drove to the teaching building.
Wang Peng immediately returned to the classroom. "Brother Lei, Dongshan, come downstairs with me to move the TV. We're showing a movie."
"Classmates, a few more boys, come downstairs with me to carry the TV."
"Everyone lend a hand, and after the movie, everyone goes home."
"Let's go, let's go, strangle the dog."
The students started to cheer, and the boys followed Wang Peng downstairs. Everyone worked together to move the TV and VCR.
Li Longfei was on tenterhooks the whole way, afraid that the young men would smash the television.
There was a power strip in the classroom. Wang Peng connected the circuit, adjusted the television, and put the videotape in.
The film begins with a map and a monologue, recounting the early stages of the War of Resistance against Japan.
When the fall of Nanjing and the Nanjing Massacre were discussed, all the students watched quietly, with more than fifty pairs of eyes fixed on the television on the podium.
The movie officially started, and Wang Peng returned to his seat.
Li Longfei moved a stool and sat down next to his daughter, keeping a close eye on the video camera and television.
This is a very exciting movie. The students were all engrossed in it, and several girls even cried when they saw the tragic scenes later on.
The further you read, the more people secretly shed tears.
"Damn it, those Japanese devils are all beasts!" Du Lei stood up angrily and cursed.
Immediately, someone chimed in, "Yes! They're all worse than pigs and dogs."
The students were indignant, and Wang Peng was in a good mood. At least the school's money wasn't wasted; it had an effect, didn't it?
Outside the classroom of Class One, the principal and vice-principal were making their rounds.
“Old Zhou, the students haven’t forgotten this history, so this money was well spent,” Xu Wei said with a smile.
“It’s all recorded in history books,” Zhou Hai said with a smile. “Wang Peng has a good eye for choosing movies, and so far, the results are quite good.”
"In all my years of teaching, this is the first time I've met such an interesting student as Wang Peng," Xu Wei said with a smile.
The two big shots left leisurely.
Wang Peng caught a glimpse of them out of the corner of his eye and finally felt relieved.
The boys in Class One performed very well, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, this deal can proceed.
His biggest worry was that the principal would not be satisfied with the screening results.
The movie finally came to an end, and the young people who had been suppressed for more than an hour finally got their fill of enjoyment.
The Battle of Taierzhuang was won, resulting in the deaths and injuries of over 10,000 Japanese soldiers.
The students started discussing the movie; some cursed the Japanese soldiers, while others praised the bravery of our troops and their fearlessness in the face of sacrifice.
Amid their discussion, Wang Peng and Li Longfei took their cell phones, TVs, and VCRs to the next classroom to continue showing the movie.
The students in Class Two couldn't wait any longer, and a group of boys helped carry the TV.
The students in Class 1 immediately left the classroom. The school had already started winter break, and they all went home.
"Brother Peng, are you staying in the county for the Spring Festival?" Du Lei asked.
Wang Peng was taken aback, then smiled wryly, "The county is my home. Where else can I go if I don't spend the New Year at home?"
Eating a reunion dinner during the Lunar New Year is a tradition.
He has fallen out with his family, and he can no longer enjoy family reunions.
Du Lei gritted his teeth and said, "Brother Peng, if it really doesn't work out, you can come to my house for the New Year."
"Okay," Wang Peng patted his shoulder and laughed, "If I have time, I'll come to your house for the New Year."
"Okay, I'll have my mom make dumplings for you." Du Lei slung his backpack over his shoulder. "Brother Peng, I'm going home now."
The movie is playing in Class Two, and all the students in Class One have already left.
