The abbot sighed and said, "Eldest brother, I really can't stand Erlu. He doesn't want to work, but he still wants to seize power. Look at him, he keeps digging into things and doesn't trust you at all."

The abbot waited until the sun was high in the sky before going to the yam sales station.

Erlv was quite proactive; he arrived at the sales station early.

"Didn't I tell you? My back hurts, and I can't get out of bed in the morning. If the boss hadn't ordered me to accompany you to City A, I would have slept until noon before I could come."

A truck from the transport team arrived.

The abbot summoned five laborers from the grain depot, who slowly loaded the truck.

By the time the truck was fully loaded, the sun was high in the sky.

Erlu said anxiously, "Let's go quickly. If we don't leave now, we'll be groping in the dark when we get to City A. Once it gets dark, all the business people in the market will be gone. Who will we sell the yams to?"

After driving for a while, the driver stopped the car in front of a restaurant in a small town.

As is customary, around noon, Ma Yunfei would treat the driver to lunch.

Erlv asked, puzzled, "Master, why did you stop here? Keep driving forward!"

The driver asked, "It's past midnight. Are you expecting me to drive on an empty stomach?"

Erlv sighed and said, "Then...then you should get off the bus and have a meal. We'll wait for you in the bus."

Erlu asked the abbot, "Did you bring any money?"

The abbot shook his head, took out a steamed bun from his bag, and began to eat.

The driver got out of the car in a huff.

Erlv sighed and said, "The boss is really something. He didn't tell me anything, leaving me all confused. I didn't even have any money on me."

Erlu's stomach also started rumbling. He said to the abbot, "Third brother, how many steamed buns did you bring? Give me one."

The abbot took a steamed bun out of his bag and handed it to Erlv.

It was all that little wench who encouraged me to become the station manager. What a load of rubbish this station manager position is!"

The abbot said sarcastically, "You think this stationmaster is some kind of local tyrant? Dream on."

Erlu got up very early in the morning, skipping breakfast, and rushed to the sales station.

He ate a steamed bun, but it only filled a gap between his teeth.

"Third brother, give me another steamed bun."

The abbot said, "I only brought five steamed buns with me. This is my lunch and dinner. If you eat them, what will I eat?"

"Third brother, the driver said that the eldest brother used to provide meals for you when you delivered yams. Since the eldest brother provides meals, why are you bringing steamed buns?"

The abbot said in a muffled voice, "If the boss came, I wouldn't need to bring steamed buns. The problem is: you're the one who came to deliver the yams this time, so I didn't expect you to provide meals."

Erlu said dejectedly, "It's not my fault, it's all the boss's fault. He didn't even explain these rules to me."

The driver ate his meal for over an hour and got into the car with a stern face.

It was 10 p.m. when the car finally entered City A.

Erlu was hungry, tired, and angry. He collapsed on the cart, speaking weakly and listlessly.

The abbot said to the driver, "Go to Jiufa Company."

The car drove into the courtyard of Jiufa Company.

The courtyard was pitch black and deserted.

Erlu got off the cart, looked around, and asked in a panic, "Third brother, why...why is no one here?"

The abbot was dozing in the carriage, ignoring Erlv.

Erlu shouted loudly, "Is anyone there?"

A light came on on the second floor, and a woman asked, "It's almost midnight, who's shouting down there?"

When Erlv saw that there were people around, he quickly replied, "We sell yams."

Summer came downstairs and said impatiently, "Why did it take you so long to bring the yams?"

"We left quite late, I'm sorry to have disturbed your rest."

Summer climbed onto the truck, looked around, and said to Erlv, "Come to my office."

Erlv followed Xia Tian upstairs and asked, "Boss, what price are you offering me?"

"Your truckload of yams isn't very good; they're only second-grade. Normally, we don't accept second-grade goods, but I'll make an exception since you came all this way in the middle of the night. However, I can only give you 47 cents a pound. If you want to sell, I'll arrange for someone to unload the goods. If you don't want to sell, just drive the truck away."

Erlv quickly said, "Sell, I'll sell, you should unload the goods quickly."
