Returning to 1990, Starting with a Big Catch

Feng Ye just wanted to save someone who had fallen into the sea, but he didn't expect to drag himself down with them, returning to 1990.

He also wanted to do business with the Russians, t...

Chapter 85 This isn't just a network explosion, it's an explosion!

Since it was almost noon, and I was thinking of having lunch after sorting, I didn't delay the second sorting for too long.

It only took a little over two hours before the network was set up.

As soon as the two brothers took their hands, they sensed something unusual; the net was incredibly heavy.

They exchanged a glance, and Feng Ye shouted excitedly, "The internet is exploding?"

"That's possible!"

Feng Xuan was equally excited.

Although it's strenuous, if it can be pulled, then it can't be hanging from the earth; it can only mean that this net has caught a very, very large number of fish.

This net far exceeded expectations.

The two of them used every ounce of strength they had, and were covered in sweat, before they finally managed to pull the net bag to the side of the boat.

"If only we had a network startup machine, we wouldn't have to work so hard."

Feng Xuan secured the net rope to the crane and then started the crane.

Feng Ye shook his hand, which was aching from the net ropes: "I can handle one or two nets now and then, but if I do it too often, I'll be exhausted."

"It's good enough to have such a harvest once, but to want to do it again is wishful thinking," Feng Xuan said with a smile.

"That's not necessarily true."

Feng Ye is quite confident in his ability to attract fish.

He couldn't say that every trawling would yield such a harvest, but he felt it was quite possible to have one occasionally.

The crane chugged and pulled, slowly dragging the net bag up from the tail slide.

When the net was pulled up, the two brothers were dumbfounded. It wasn't just a net bursting; it was an explosion!

The net bag was filled to the brim, stretched very wide, and all that could be seen were flat, silvery-white strips.

"Ribbonfish!"

The two shouted it out almost simultaneously.

"Have we run into a school of ribbonfish?"

Feng Xuan was so excited that his voice trembled slightly.

Today was incredibly lucky.

"It must be, otherwise there wouldn't be so many."

Feng Ye couldn't stop smiling.

Ah-Can was dumbfounded in the driver's seat. He ran out, swallowed hard, and said in a trembling voice, "This...this is too much, isn't it?"

He felt he was rambling incoherently; he was just too excited.

"This net must have caught over a thousand pounds. We've struck it rich today."

Feng Xuan was so happy he almost danced with joy.

"Quickly untie it and lower the net; maybe we can still haul up a net full of ribbonfish."

Ribbonfish, along with large yellow croaker, small yellow croaker, and squid, is known as one of the four major seafood products in China, but its price does not live up to this title. It is very cheap, with small ones costing only a few cents and large ones costing only a dollar or so.

The price is low, but the quantity makes up for it.

These fish like to swim in schools, and if you encounter a school of fish, the catch from a single haul is usually quite substantial.

"Yes, yes, hurry up and drag another net."

Feng Xuan also spoke hurriedly, while simultaneously untying the net bag.

To the three's surprise, once the net bag was untied, it gave them another big surprise.

Among the pile of ribbonfish, several large fish were found.

The most eye-catching were the five large fish, each nearly a meter long, that glowed with a blue light and looked like five blue ghosts under the sunlight.

Blue-spotted mackerel.

"Mackerel".

"Yanba".

The three spoke almost simultaneously, but uttered three different names.

The first sentence was spoken by Feng Ye, the middle sentence by A-Can, and the last sentence by Feng Xuan.

Blue-spotted mackerel, also known as Spanish mackerel, comes in two varieties: one is the mackerel, and the other is the swallow mackerel that Feng Xuan mentioned.

In folk tradition, it is praised as "partridge and roe deer on the mountain, mackerel in the sea" because of its abundant meat, few bones, tender and delicious taste.

Spanish mackerel have long, laterally compressed, spindle-shaped bodies. The largest individuals can reach 2.28 meters in length and weigh over 168 kilograms.

The fish is ferocious and often swims in shallow waters near the shore to hunt for food from June to mid-October each year.

Its streamlined shape, extremely high swimming speed, and sharp teeth resemble a cheetah chasing its prey, often startling small fish into scattering in all directions. In their panic, they rush onto the shore rocks, creating a spectacular scene of mackerel leaping to catch their prey.

The three of them were incredibly excited. Spanish mackerel was much more expensive than ribbonfish, and this one was so big.

A mackerel that is nearly a meter long would weigh at least 60 or 70 pounds, so five of them would weigh over 300 pounds.

Besides the five large mackerel, there were also several large barracudas and some scattered shrimp and crabs in the net.

The catch from this net was simply incredible!

"You all hurry up and put down the net, I'll go set sail."

Ah-chan was so excited he could hardly contain himself, and he floated back to the driver's seat.

Today's harvest is already bountiful, but they are not satisfied with this and hope for an even greater harvest.

Without time to sort them, the two brothers quickly tidied up the trawl net and put it back down.

They were all incredibly excited.

Even Feng Ye didn't expect to have such a great harvest today.

As he sorted through his catch, he said smugly, "Isn't my luck incredible? I just pointed in a random direction and got such a big harvest."

His secret could not be known to anyone; it could only be attributed to luck.

"Yes, you have incredible luck at sea; you always have a great haul on your voyages."

Feng Xuan had to nod in agreement on this point.

"Haha." Feng Ye laughed loudly and deliberately said, "If only I had known my luck lay in the sea, I wouldn't have been such a jerk for so many years."

"It's not too late now," Feng Xuan said with a smile. "You should thank your father for buying you a little wooden boat; otherwise, how would you have changed your mind?"

"Yes, it's not too late now."

The two chatted as they sorted their catch, putting the ribbonfish and other fish, shrimp and crabs into different baskets.

Although ribbonfish are cheap, their abundance allows them to fetch a high price overall.
