Chapter 30: Watch Incident (2/2)

"Let's get to work." No one paid any attention to this little episode. The team leader on the other side of the field had already shouted to everyone to start working quickly.

The sun set and the day was almost over. Jiang He was invited by Aunt Liu to teach her how to make some snacks. Zhao Xiaoxue went with him in the name of helping out.

"Yes... that's how you knead the dough. Don't use too much force, otherwise the taste will be much worse." Jiang He prepared various fillings while observing Zhao Xiaoxue who volunteered to knead the dough. "If you really don't have the strength, just give it to me!"

"No need. I'll do what I say. How can I go back on my word?" Zhao Xiaoxue wiped the sweat from her forehead with her elbow and said angrily.

Aunt Liu over there brought a wooden barrel and said, "Xiao He, I brought the barrel that I used to steam rice at home. Can I use it?"

Jiang He looked back, then groped lightly in the bucket with his fingertips and nodded, "Okay, it's just enough. I asked you to pick some lotus leaves."

When Aunt Liu heard this, she quickly went outside the kitchen and took out a few clean lotus leaves. A smile appeared on her face. "Xiao He, what are you going to do today?

Lotus leaf is a wooden barrel?"

"Lotus leaf steamed cake, one day is not enough, I will teach you how to make two kinds. If you like any flavor in the future, you can make it yourself. It's convenient." Jiang He rolled up his sleeves and smiled, came to Zhao Xiaoxue, and pushed her aside, "Let me do it."

"Okay." Zhao Xiaoxue didn't act pretentiously and just let it go. Only now did she realize that some things looked easy but were actually quite difficult to do.

"Xiao He, you are very good at kneading this dough, how come you have so many things?" Aunt Liu nodded as she looked at it, and asked with some curiosity.

"I have an uncle who runs a restaurant, and I learned all this from him." Of course, what Jiang He said was not quite true. In his original life, he did learn some skills from Uncle Liu and Aunt Liu, but as for pastry making, Jiang He taught himself in his previous life.

"Then your uncle must be a very good chef. You know, all the past bakers came from the palace. Maybe your uncle is him, Xiao He." Aunt Liu guessed with some envy.

"Aunt, you're too kind. My uncle was born in an ordinary family. When he was young, he met a master and learned from him." Jiang He said modestly.

"Jiang He, your pastry is so beautiful. Can you teach me in the future?" Zhao Xiaoxue saw that Jiang He had already started to knead the dough, so she quickly stood up from in front of the stove, took a stool and sat next to Jiang He.

Jiang He looked up and nodded, "Next time." Then he looked up and saw Aunt Liu hesitated, "Aunt, what else do you want?"

Aunt Liu wiped her hands on her apron, looked out of the kitchen, and then said to Zhao Xiaoxue, "Comrade Xiao Zhao, don't wear this watch anymore. It's hidden."

Zhao Xiaoxue and Jiang He looked at each other, then quickly looked away. She seemed puzzled and asked, "Auntie, what do you mean? Is there a thief in this place?"

"It's Liu Xi's daughter. Don't look at her crazy. No matter whose daughter is in our village, if she wears something fancy, she might find you and destroy your things. She has a vicious mind." Aunt Liu was asked this question and simply said, "Before this girl went crazy, her style was problematic. She relied on herself to be the prettiest in the village and flirted with the boys in the village all day long and had no time to work. At first, she didn't get married and wanted to find a husband. This is also human nature, but she took his things and didn't give people the trust."
