Huo Qingci had never expected Xu Xiaomin to be so shameless. He didn't even want to waste words with her anymore, so he took two steps back without hesitation, and then slammed the door shut.

Seeing this, Xu Xiaomin immediately jumped up from the ground. She rushed to the door anxiously and banged on the closed door with all her might, begging non-stop: "Please, please open the door and let me finish what I want to say..."

However, Huo Qingci was not moved at all. He quickly bolted the door and strode into the yard without looking back.

At this moment, Huo Yian was pushing his bicycle towards the gate, with Huo Yiwen and Huo Yixin following behind him. They happened to run into Huo Qingci.

Seeing this, Huo Qingci quickly reached out to block the children's way.

"An An, don't go through the front. I'll go open the back door and you can go out through the back door." Huo Qingci said to Huo Yian with a serious face.

Huo Yian looked at his father with suspicion and asked in confusion: "Dad, why did you let us go through the back door today?"

Huo Qingci sighed and explained, "Didn't Zhang Fen get arrested? Her mother is guarding our front door right now."

Huo Yixin interrupted, "Dad, what is Aunt Xu doing guarding our front door?"

"She wants me to persuade your aunt to give him a letter of apology."

As soon as Huo Qingci finished speaking, Lin Man walked out of the greenhouse.

She saw at a glance that the children were surrounding Huo Qingci, seemingly asking something.

So, she walked over quickly like a gust of wind, and asked suspiciously, "An An, why haven't you left yet? What are you doing surrounding your dad?"

Seeing this, Huo Yian quickly replied, "Mom, Dad asked us to go through the back door today. He said Aunt Xu is blocking our door."

Lin Man frowned slightly when she heard this. She looked past her son Huo Yian and looked at Huo Qingci standing beside him. She asked with a puzzled look on her face, "Why did Xu Xiaomin come so early?"

Huo Qingci's face was as gloomy as water, and he said slowly, "She was afraid that her daughter would be sentenced, so she came to ask us to help her speak well of her to her brother-in-law."

"Beg us? Didn't she come to beg grandpa? Qingci, did she beg you just now?" Lin Man looked at Huo Qingci with suspicion.

Huo Qingci didn't answer Lin Man's question immediately. His eyes fell on his son Huo Yian who was standing beside him. He said softly, "An'an, it's getting late. Push your bike to the backyard and go out through the back door. I have something to say to your mother."

Huo Yian nodded obediently and pushed his bicycle slowly towards the backyard.

Seeing this, Huo Yixin and Huo Yiwen followed their brother's footsteps and left.

After the children walked away, Huo Qingci took Lin Man's hand and walked towards the main courtyard.

Along the way, he explained to Lin Man as he walked, "Xu Xiaomin sat at our door early in the morning and waited until we opened the door.

I opened the door and she started begging me. I didn't agree to her request, but she actually knelt down and begged me to help her intercede with her brother's wife.

Lin Man's eyes widened after hearing this. She said in surprise, "She actually knelt down to beg you? That's too much..." She paused, then sighed, "Being a parent isn't easy! Did you agree to her promise?"

Huo Qingci shook his head decisively and replied, "Of course I didn't agree to her.

As soon as I saw her kneeling down, she started talking nonsense and making no sense at all. Without saying anything, I locked the door directly."

Lin Man didn't ask Huo Qingci what Xu Xiaomin was talking about. They were all old, and she couldn't possibly sacrifice her looks to ask her man for help, right?

But what she never expected was that Xu Xiaomin actually asked her man for help. Shouldn't she ask her grandfather for help? Didn't she love to tell tales to her grandfather the most?
