After Lin Man chatted with Liu Jing and the others for a while, she stood up and began to prepare New Year's gifts for Huo Qinghuan.

Two bottles of white wine, two cans of malted milk, two boxes of tea, four cans of fruit, a pound of candy and a pound of biscuits.

Huo Qinghuan brought Huo Yining with him to visit his grandparents with New Year gifts. Shortly after they left, two more waves of guests arrived. These guests were all former subordinates of Huo Li, who had come to visit him. After placing their New Year gifts and drinking a cup of tea, they said goodbye and left.

At noon, only Huo Junmo and her family stayed for lunch. Lin Man entertained them warmly and specially prepared eight sumptuous dishes.

After lunch, Huo Junmo and her family got up and left. As soon as they left, Huo Qingci called.

When the phone rang, Huo Yixin immediately rushed over to answer it. Because she knew yesterday that her father would call again at noon today, she had been waiting by the phone.

Lin Man had just finished washing the dishes and walked out of the kitchen when she saw Huo Yiwen running towards her. He excitedly said to her, "Mom, Dad is calling. Go answer it!"

Upon hearing this, Lin Man hurried to the main courtyard living room. As soon as she entered, she saw her daughter holding a phone and saying into the receiver, "Dad, my aunt and the others left after dinner."

Lin Man walked over and took the microphone from her daughter. "Qingci, Happy New Year! Have you eaten yet?"

Huo Qingci's hearty laughter came from the other end of the phone: "Manman, Happy New Year! I heard from Grandpa that my aunt and her family are visiting us. You even cooked a table full of delicious dishes today. You've worked so hard!"

Lin Man's lips curled up slightly, revealing a gentle smile: "Oh, what's so hard about this? Even if my aunt and the others don't come, we still have to eat. By the way, Qingci, have you been cooking for yourself these two days?"

"Manman, I heard from grandpa yesterday that Qingyan's mother-in-law passed away. She was only in her fifties. What a pity."

"So, Manman, remember to remind my parents to go to the hospital for a comprehensive physical examination after the New Year, just in case."

"Okay, I will." Lin Man nodded quickly and agreed.

"Manman, Qingyan's mother-in-law is gone, and there's no one to help them take care of the children. I think my mother might come to the city again..."

Before Huo Qingci finished speaking, Lin Man understood what he meant. He just wanted to say that Song Jingjing's mother was gone and there was no one to help her take care of the children and the store. Maybe her mother-in-law would move to the city to help Song Jingjing take care of the children and the store.

Lin Man reminded her, "Qingci, your sister-in-law has hired a nanny. Are you thinking that your sister-in-law will ask your mother to help her run the store?"

Huo Qingci said with some annoyance: "Manman, if my mother were her..."

"Qingci, if my mother-in-law wants to help my sister-in-law run the store, I won't say anything if she goes. I have hired someone in the store anyway." Lin Man sighed.

Although her husband is the eldest son, he is not his mother-in-law's favorite son. She has seen this clearly a long time ago. She once asked her mother-in-law to help her run the store and pay her salary.
