A friend of Xu Yanfeng met an acquaintance at a hotel.
That acquaintance was none other than Xu Yanfeng's girlfriend from university, who was now a thing of the past.
The two greete...
Xu Yanfeng sent Xia Xi his detailed home address, but Xia Xi didn't have a card and couldn't even get into the elevator. She had no choice but to call Xu Yanfeng and say, "I'm here, but I can't get in."
Xu Yanfeng: "Didn't you say you wanted to work overtime?"
"I've added it."
"Wait."
Xu Yanfeng had just finished dinner with Ziheng. He thought Xia Xi would be back very late and was worried that his son would be hungry, so he asked the nanny to serve dinner first.
When he brought Ziheng home, the nanny had already prepared the dishes and just needed to cook them, and they were soon served on the table.
The atmosphere during the meal was no different from the one in the car, as if they were in the middle of a Siberian winter. If you didn't know, you'd think his family had a rule of "no talking while eating, no talking while sleeping."
The elevator door opened, Xu Yanfeng looked up and saw Xia Xi waiting outside.
She was wearing a sky blue shirt with two of the top buttons open, revealing a little bit of the collar of the white T-shirt underneath. On top of that, she wore a loose black wool coat and a pair of white straight jeans.
The makeup on her face is very light, not covering up the characteristics of her facial features. She is still as bright as ever, and has a more mature charm than when she was in college.
She doesn't need to do anything, and other people's eyes will follow her and they will no longer see anything else.
Xia Xi felt a little uncomfortable under his overly direct gaze. She tucked her hair away from her ear and pushed the suitcases in. When she pushed the second suitcase, Xu Yanfeng came back to his senses and helped her get it into the elevator. He also told her the elevator code and reminded her, "Go upstairs and record your fingerprint on the door lock. It will be more convenient."
Xia Xi just said "hmm" without any extra words.
Xu Yanfeng held the handle of the suitcase and tapped it casually with his fingertips: "Why do you bring so many things?"
“They are all necessities.”
"Everything that needs to be prepared has been prepared. You don't need to bring anything."
Xia Xi was stunned for a moment, lowered her eyelashes, and recalled that a long time ago, when they just got together, he prepared clothes for her for all seasons and various daily necessities in his apartment.
He seems aloof and doesn't care about anything, but he is actually very meticulous.
While Xia Xi was daydreaming, the elevator rang. He took a deep breath and followed Xu Yanfeng out.
There is one apartment per floor, which provides good privacy and the marble corridor is wide enough to ride a bike.
When I opened the door, Ziheng was in the living room, sitting there waiting obediently. When he saw Xia Xi, the little guy's eyes lit up. He got up from the sofa and ran into Xia Xi's arms.
Xia Xi quickly threw down the suitcase, opened his arms to catch Ziheng, pinched his armpits, lifted him up and then put him down.
Xu Yanfeng finally heard his "mute" son speak: "Mom, why did you come back just now? Have you eaten? Youyou didn't come with me. Her aunt took her home. Did your aunt call you?"
He had a lot of questions. Xia Xi put her hand on his head and rubbed his soft hair, then patiently answered them one by one: "I worked overtime, so I came back late. I haven't eaten yet. My aunt sent me a message, I know."
Xu Yanfeng now believes that his son is not autistic. No wonder Xia Xi can say so confidently, "Even if you are autistic, he can't be autistic too."
Xu Yanfeng moved all the things Xia Xi brought into the master bedroom. Xia Xi glanced at the furnishings in the room without looking closely: "I'm going to sleep... in this room?" Then where are you going to sleep?
She swallowed the last sentence.
Xu Yanfeng glanced back at her and asked with a half-smile, "Is there a problem?"
"No." Xia Xi felt hot, took off his woolen coat and folded it around his arm, then straightened his expression. "I mean, where are you sleeping?"
She couldn't hold it in any longer and asked.
Xu Yanfeng's tone became more relaxed: "Of course I sleep in..."
He paused deliberately, and indeed saw Xia Xi's eyes widen and she took a deep breath. Having achieved his goal of teasing her, Xu Yanfeng finished the second half of his sentence: "The second bedroom next door. Do you want me to sleep here too?"
Xia Xi didn't hesitate for a second and decisively denied it: "I don't think so."
The nanny was cleaning up in the kitchen. Xu Yanfeng left the master bedroom, walked to the kitchen, and asked the nanny to make some more food, as Xia Xi had not eaten yet.
Xia Xi opened her suitcase and packed her things. Ziheng squatted beside her to help her. Xia Xi took the opportunity to ask him, "How are you getting along with Xu Yanfeng?"
Ziheng shook his head, looking distressed and unwilling to talk about it: "It's very annoying."
Xia Xi: “…”
Ziheng hugged her arms and put his face on them: "The children's room is too big. I definitely won't be able to sleep at night. Can I sleep with Mommy?"
"Sure." Xia Xi took out a set of pajamas from the suitcase and stuffed them into his arms. "Take a shower and get into bed early. You have to go to school tomorrow morning. I'm afraid you'll have insomnia if you suddenly change your environment."
"Oh." Ziheng obediently went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Xia Xi had only partially unpacked the items in the suitcase when Xu Yanfeng came over and knocked on the door. The door was not closed. He leaned against the door frame and said lazily, "Come out for dinner."
Xia Xi stood up on her knees, picked up her work tote bag from the sofa, and took out a folder from it, which was the one she printed when she left the office. She walked to the door and handed it to Xu Yanfeng.
Xu Yanfeng subconsciously reached out to catch it: "What is this?"
It couldn't be some kind of living-sharing agreement or something.
"Budget." Xia Xi walked past him without stopping and went straight out, the voice still continuing, "It's just a preliminary budget. If there are any changes later, they will be added. Take a look first."
She had to first let him know how much it would cost to complete the decoration of Jingyu Garden. Don't take the money lightly. When you really calculate it, each single amount is a huge sum. So it was normal for her to go to see Mr. Ge before and try to lower the price.
The reception lobby alone has a ceiling made entirely of hollowed-out golden nanmu wood...
