Reuniting with My Ex-Boyfriend at a Wedding

A friend of Xu Yanfeng met an acquaintance at a hotel.

That acquaintance was none other than Xu Yanfeng's girlfriend from university, who was now a thing of the past.

The two greete...

Chapter 333 I Haven’t Heard She Was Married

After they chatted for a while, Chen Songbai's phone rang with a message. He said to Xia Xi, "Xuanxuan is here. I'll go pick her up."

"Go ahead." Xia Xi nodded, and the teacup she put down was taken away by Xu Yanfeng, who did not allow her to drink from it.

Another voice interrupted, "Is my cousin's wife here? Why don't you just send her the box number? It's so troublesome running up and down."

"I'd better go and answer it." Chen Songbai smiled and walked out of the box.

Miao Yijiajia held her chin, tilted her head to look at the door, and curled the corners of her mouth slightly. When she looked away, she happened to meet Xia Xi's gaze. Her face froze, and she smiled a little unnaturally, holding the cup and lowering her head to drink tea.

Xia Xi stared at Miao Yijiajia inquiringly for three or four seconds. She didn't think she was seeing things. Miao Yijiajia showed contempt for a moment.

What is she despising?

Is there anything wrong with Chen Songbai going down to pick up his wife in person?

Xia Xi's heart sank, and he subconsciously reached for the tea beside him, but found nothing. Then he remembered that the teacup had been taken away by Xu Yanfeng.

Seeing this, Xu Yanfeng replaced the cup with hot water for her. Xia Xi picked it up and took two sips.

Soon, Chen Songbai came in holding Xia Xuan's hand. Seeing Xia Xi here, Xia Xuan was very surprised and smiled: "Sister, what a coincidence! Songbai told me in the elevator just now that he would be happy that I came. I didn't know why, but now I know. Why are you here?"

Xia Xi patted the chair beside her and motioned her to come over and sit down: "I came out to eat and happened to run into Chen Songbai."

"Oh." Xia Xuan sat next to her and moved her chair closer to her.

Xia Xi's face softened as she raised her hand to smooth her hair. Xia Xuan wore a red and white plaid dress with a beige knitted cardigan over it. Her long, smooth hair was half tied up, with some part draped behind her. She looked well-behaved and quiet, like a student still in school.

"I have wanted a sister since I was a child, but unfortunately I only have two brothers. Seeing that my cousin's wife and my sister have such a good relationship, I want a sister even more." Miao Yijiajia said with envy.

Xia Xuan smiled and said, "It's good to have a brother."

"That's right." Miao Yijia glanced at Chen Songbai, patted his arm, and sighed, "Speaking of which, neither of my two brothers treats me as well as my cousin. Cousin, you're the best."

"Don't let your two brothers hear this, otherwise they will be dissatisfied with you." Chen Songbai joked and poured a glass of water for Xia Xuan and placed it in front of her.

Xu Yanfeng called the waiter over to take his order. The food was slow to arrive, especially with so many customers, which gave him plenty of time for conversation. Being in the presence of outsiders, Xu Yanfeng was quiet, busy serving food to Xia Xi on his left and serving Ziheng, who was sitting in a children's chair on his right.

Ziheng was perfectly capable of feeding himself; Xia Xi had already nurtured both children's self-care skills early on. Ziheng and Youyou learned daily activities like eating, bathing, and using the toilet earlier than most children. Xu Yanfeng, wanting to make up for the fatherly love he'd lost in the past, doted on his children.

Xia Xi took care of her sister's taste and picked out the dishes she liked for her.

Chen Songbai and Xia Xi simultaneously put a piece of plum pork ribs into Xia Xuan's bowl. Xia Xuan looked at this, then looked at that, and finally covered her face with her hands, sighing softly, "I'm so happy."

"Silly girl." Xia Xi laughed and picked up the bowl to serve her chicken soup.

Miao Yijia also laughed: "That's why I envy having a sister. How can a brother be so considerate?" She playfully poked Chen Songbai with the end of her chopsticks, "Cousin, I'm hinting at you."

Chen Songbai laughed in silence and used the serving chopsticks to pick up a piece of pork ribs for her.

Miao Yijia slumped her shoulders, looked up at the ceiling, and made a speechless expression: "I don't like eating spare ribs. I like eating fish."

Chen Songbai had no choice but to put the ribs into his own bowl and used the tip of his chopsticks to pick off a piece of grouper for her. Only then did she smile with satisfaction and lower her head to eat. To express her gratitude, she also picked up some vegetables for Chen Songbai.

After almost finishing the meal, Xia Xuan went to the bathroom. Xia Xi wiped his mouth and offered to accompany her.

There was a restroom in the box, but Xia Xi took her sister to the public restroom outside. She didn't dare say she was a good judge of people, but she always felt that Chen Songbai's cousin was not as simple as she seemed.

"Have you interacted with Miao Yijiajia often?" Xia Xi didn't mince words, asking directly, "She hasn't bullied you, has she?"

Xia Xuan was stunned for a moment, not understanding why Xia Xi asked that, but she answered honestly, "No, we've only eaten together once before, and this is the second time. She just graduated from university and came to South City to look for a job. Song Bai, who works as a manager in the company, arranged a position for her and even helped her rent an apartment."

"That's good." Xia Xi said, "Remember, tell me whenever you're bullied."

"I know." Xia Xuan hugged her touchedly. "But why do you think she bullied me?"

"I can't tell. She doesn't seem to like you very much."

Xia Xuan shrugged, looking at it lightly: "It doesn't matter whether I like him or not. He's just a relative and we don't interact much."

In the private room, Xu Yanfeng had already paid the bill and was chatting with Chen Songbai about some business management topics. Miao Yijia didn't understand what was going on, so she yawned, her lips covered with her hands, her eyes filled with tears. She tilted her head and leaned on Chen Songbai's shoulder, dozing with her eyes half closed.

Xu Yanfeng glanced at him calmly, said nothing, and poured tea by himself.

The moment the box door was pushed open, Miao Yijia straightened her neck, rubbed her neck with her hand, and smiled sheepishly at Chen Songbai: "It's easy to get sleepy if you eat too much."

"Let's stop here today. We'll get together again sometime." Xu Yanfeng said politely, stood up, took Xia Xi's bag, and patted Ziheng, who was playing games on his mobile phone, to remind him that he was leaving.

The two groups separated in the underground parking lot.
