Chapter 51 Chapter 51 Confession
When ordering food, You Yue said that he would take Cheng Hexi to his villa in the area, where lunch would be prepared.
I accompanied her to the restaurant early so that she could have a light meal and have breakfast, lest her delicate stomach have any more problems.
Cheng Hexi understood all these good intentions, but a sense of guilt and unease welled up inside her again.
The food was gradually placed on the table. She ate her salad while watching You Yue sit opposite her cutting a steak.
His fingers were long and slender with prominent, sensual knuckles. His wristwatch and wedding ring accentuated his elegance, making him especially charming when he was focused and attentive, like a model shooting an advertisement.
I flew for more than ten hours to get here, and even though I'm still jet-lagged, I don't look tired at all.
The person opposite clearly noticed Cheng Hexi's gaze, looked up and looked back, and their eyes met.
A few seconds later, You Yue stood up, placed the steak he had cut in front of her, swapped it with hers, and returned to his seat.
Cheng Hexi stared blankly at the steak on the table, cut into bite-sized pieces, and looked up at him.
The man still maintained his aristocratic demeanor, his eyes lowered as he slowly and methodically cut the new steak on the table, his movements and expression completely natural, as if unaware of the emotional turmoil his actions had caused Cheng Hexi.
He had no intention of flattering or seeking credit; he simply wanted to be good to her from the bottom of his heart.
Cheng Hexi's gaze was intense and undisguised, and she showed no intention of looking away.
You Yue could only look back at her and smile: "Why aren't you eating? Does looking at me make you not hungry?"
"..."
She pursed her lips, responded with silence, and forked a piece of steak into her mouth.
She lowered her eyes, but then she remembered the first time she formally met him at the private restaurant.
The man, dressed in a handsome black suit, arrived at the private room early to wait for her. When he saw her, he was not warm at all. He stood up with a cold face to pull out a chair for her, and every move he made was extremely gentlemanly.
She was determined at the time that even if it was an arranged marriage, she wanted to find someone who was already a good person.
And You Yue is such a person.
I turned my head to look out the floor-to-ceiling window; the sunlight was bright, and gentle piano music flowed from the restaurant.
This hotel is located in the heart of Times Square, and the window seats in the rooftop restaurant offer a direct view of the bustling, giant advertising towers.
Manhattan is a prime location, and 42nd Street is always bustling with people.
The scenery has always been the same, no matter how many times I've visited.
The last time he came to New York, he attended an economic forum with You Yue. He noticed she was in a bad mood and made her a margarita.
That was perhaps the moment the gears began to turn, when they started to have meaning in each other's lives.
Originally, they were both people with a strong sense of boundaries, but after going around in circles, they gradually infiltrated each other's lives and became inseparable.

The black phantom waited quietly.
You Yue opened the back door for Cheng Hexi, and the bodyguard put the suitcase away.
Cheng Hexi only realized after getting into the car that his house was in the Upper East Side, next to Central Park, and not far from the hotel.
But he still thoughtfully accompanied her to eat first.
This villa is quite expensive.
It's more accurate to call it "real estate" rather than "house".
You Yue's family and career are both based in Beijing. Although he has residences in many cities, apart from the villa in Palo Alto where he studied at Stanford, he has hardly lived in the other houses and there are no traces of his life there.
An old lady sometimes comes over to this house, and someone always cleans it.
The car passed an artificial lake and stopped by the lawn.
When getting off the bus, You Yue naturally took Cheng Hexi's hand.
She was looking around at the scenery.
In the car, the two chatted about his residence and routine during his university years. Now, holding her hand, he walked around the lawn and asked her where she had lived for the past nine years.
"I usually live in a high-rise apartment south of Bryant Park, but I moved all my things out before I went back to China and haven't been there since."
At this point, she smiled and said, "Nine years is actually a long time, but my memories of this place are not very vivid; I basically don't have any memory anchors."
It's not as good as these past few months after the wedding.
She achieved success in her studies and career, but day after day, her life remained largely unchanged, as if it were a matter of copying and pasting.
Thinking about this, Cheng Hexi couldn't help but feel a little emotional: "I didn't realize it at the time, but now that I think about it, it was really quite boring."
You Yue understood her, and squeezed her hand in a natural and affectionate gesture.
As he approached the door, he paused at the bottom of the steps, gesturing for Cheng Hexi to continue.
The heels of her high heels clicked on the steps, her long skirt swayed, and seeing the combination lock, she didn't ask You Yue, but opened the villa door directly.
The password is the same as the one at home.
In the sweltering heat of August in New York, she glanced back and saw You Yue standing in the sunlight, hands in his pockets, a vast green lawn behind him. She stood at an unfamiliar doorway, ready to welcome an unknown surprise.
He strode toward her and followed her through the door.
The interior design is understated yet sophisticated, with a minimalist style and a high-hanging crystal chandelier, exuding understated luxury.
Cheng Hexi walked in, and the winding staircase came into view.
The snow-white steps were decorated with flowers, mostly pink roses and peonies, and a large bouquet of double-petaled lilies was placed on the round table next to them.
There should be... several thousand.
Cheng Hexi couldn't help but chuckle and turned to look at him.
"Mr. You, are you setting up the wedding venue?" she asked with a smile. "Want to have a wedding?"
“Yes,” You Yue smiled and answered frankly, “I want to have a wedding.”
When the old lady was chatting with her, she asked about the wedding bouquet, and her answer was double-petaled lilies.
He remembered it too.
Previously, You Yue hadn't prepared birthday celebrations for anyone. Every year, he would take photos of the calligraphy, paintings, and vases that the old lady liked, and give sports cars to his friends. He didn't consider himself particularly romantic, and Cheng Hexi didn't lack these material things.
He thought about it and finally decided to send her flowers.
I landed in New York this morning and came here to decorate the house. After it was finished, it really felt like I was decorating a wedding room. I even thought about proposing again here.
He was indeed going to propose again, but the ring wasn't in his hands yet.
Tugged by tender emotions, You Yue realized that she had lost her previous ability to think ahead and that nothing she did felt perfect.
Cheng Hexi walked around the flower bushes once, then quickly turned around and went down the stairs.
She moved a little hastily, and was wearing high heels. You Yue was afraid she would fall, so he strode over to meet her. With only two steps left, she threw herself into the man's arms.
He gave her a tight hug.
Cheng Hexi curved her lips into a smile and placed her hand on the man's shoulder.
In the restaurant by the window, the chefs were still busy when they casually shared a tender, lingering kiss.
You Yue reached out to touch her ring, then hugged her and turned her around.
Cheng Hexi's high heels touched the floor again, and with each movement, the hem of her skirt swept across a patch of pink roses.
Surrounded by a sea of flowers, she suddenly realized why You Yue hadn't brought his suitcase that morning; he must have arrived earlier to set up the room.
Her face flushed slightly, her eyes reflecting the man's image. She took a deep breath and asked, "Do you have any business in New York this time?"
You Yue said, "No."
"Then...when are you leaving?"
You Yue kissed the cheek of the person in his arms: "Tomorrow night."
The man answered her questions one by one, his lips still pressed against her hair. He straightened up slightly, his gaze falling on her, and he smiled almost imperceptibly: "Why are you asking me this as soon as I arrive? Do you want me to leave, or do you not want me to leave?"
Cheng Hexi felt that sometimes she should really hate talking to him.
A single sentence can be a trap.
She knew that there was a technology summit in Beijing in a few days, which You Yue needed to attend, and he didn't have time to stay for long.
By that calculation, he spent more time on the road than he spent here with her.
Cheng Hexi knew that she was undeniably happy because of You Yue's favoritism and affection, but she didn't want him to actually travel more than twenty hours just to spend a birthday with her.
It's not that important.
"You're working too hard," she said, her arm still draped over the man's shoulder. "Actually, it's not my birthday..."
“He Xi”.
You Yue suddenly spoke.
This was the first time in a long time that he had interrupted her.
"I can probably guess what you're trying to say, but don't think that way."
His gaze was gentle, but his tone was extremely firm, giving people an indescribable sense of security.
"It was totally worth flying here just to celebrate your birthday with you. I feel very satisfied and happy to be here with you."
A birthday is not a celebration of birth, but a celebration of existence.
Her existence is of great significance to Youyue, and he only needs two voyages to obtain these things, which is well worth it.
No one could remain unmoved by such words.
Cheng Hexi opened her mouth, but for a moment she didn't know what to say, and finally said "thank you".
"You should thank me for taking you to the airport, and you should thank me for staying with you in the hospital."
You Yue touched her face, his peach blossom eyes filled with laughter, his tone gentle, but his gaze on her face carried a hint of aggression that he could not hide despite his restraint: "You know, I don't want your thanks."
"You're not happy about saying 'thank you'?" Cheng Hexi almost melted in his arms, looking up into his eyes. "What do you want?"
You Yue smiled, deftly deflecting the question: "I want you to be happy."
I want you to fall in love with me.
Cheng Hexi said very seriously, "I'm very happy."
You Yue took her hand and moved it to his heart.
Her palms touched the man's burning body through his shirt, and she could clearly feel his very strong heartbeat.
She seemed to sense something, and her fingertips twitched slightly.
“I remember a study that confirmed that the heart beats more than 100,000 times a day. I’ve always been someone who enjoys extreme thrills, like rock climbing, racing, skydiving and skiing. These sports allow me to clearly feel my heart beating violently.”
"Now, looking into your eyes, I feel the same way."
His heartbeat was so loud that even his eardrums were pounding.
You Yue knew this was due to both excitement and nervousness.
"You just asked me if I was setting up the wedding venue..." He smiled and said, "Actually, what I was thinking about was confessing my love to you today."
The moment he finished speaking, tears streamed down Cheng Hexi's face.
She was unaware until the man's warm fingertips brushed against her face, at which point she realized she was crying.
Cheng Hexi is very smart and perceptive, and she knows how much You Yue cares for her.
They went to bed together, openly flirting and sharing their feelings; she hadn't expected him to say these things.
Her heart melted into a pool of water.
You Yue's smile held a hint of helplessness and bewilderment.
He hadn't expected Cheng Hexi to have such strong emotions, and he didn't want her to shed tears.
"Why are you crying..." he comforted her, "It's your birthday, don't cry."
Cheng Hexi's tears fell even harder.
She only realized today what it's like to like someone.
No longer rational, no longer indifferent, about to be swallowed up by surging emotions.
You Yue kissed away her tears and held her tightly. After a while, he whispered, "I've never prepared a gift for anyone before. I've thought about it for a long time, but I still don't know what you like."
She can give herself anything she wants, and the one thing she has no shortage of is money. She is extremely difficult to please and is not easily moved.
"I really don't have anything I like." Cheng Hexi smiled.
This isn't You Yue's fault; he's already done an excellent job.
"Last time at Grandma's house, you said you wanted to have your wedding on an island, right?"
"Yes, you remember."
She initially said she wanted to hold the wedding nearby, but her grandmother almost instantly realized that she was taking care of her health. She insisted that she was in very good health and that flying for more than ten hours would not be a problem. She even brought out her private doctor for this purpose and finally requested to take Youyue's private plane.
You Yue was laughing at the time.
Cheng Hexi immediately changed her mind, thought about it carefully, and said that she liked islands.
“Of course I remember,” he said. “I bought an island, the contract is already signed, it’s a birthday present for you, okay?”
