Chapter 62 Heaven is round and earth is square, peace and good fortune.

Cheng Hexi naturally wanted to go.

“But it’s very late now,” she thought for a moment, looking somewhat conflicted, “by the time we get there, Grandma will be resting.”

“It’s alright,” You Yue said, looking at her. “We won’t disturb Grandma.”

His eyes were serious, and Cheng Hexi smiled inexplicably, feeling that they looked a bit like middle school students sneaking out of their homes at night for a date.

Despite saying that, You Yue had sent a message to Aunt Yun, the nanny there, before going, because she didn't want to be too presumptuous.

Upon entering the villa area, You Yue parked the car outside. The streetlights were bright, casting their light on the road surface after the rain.

The two walked into the courtyard hand in hand.

The flowers in the garden bloomed even more beautifully after the rain, with glistening water droplets hanging on their colorful petals. The droplets slid down and dripped into the soil.

The villa was brightly lit outside, but the lights inside were off.

As You Yue entered the password, Cheng Hexi still felt that it was inappropriate to come to the door so abruptly.

The surroundings were bright. You Yue held her hand and squeezed her fingers as the door opened, understanding what she was thinking.

Noticing his movement, Cheng Hexi turned her head to look at him.

"I've already spoken to Aunt Yun, it's fine."

“Besides, we’re here to come home.” You Yue pushed open the door, turned on the wall lamp, and let her in first. He said softly, “I lived here until I was eighteen. So, you can also consider this your home, okay?”

Placing these three words at the end made the whole sentence sound like it was being coaxed to a child. Cheng Hexi couldn't say "no" and took the man's hand after he closed the door.

Youyue's room is on the second floor.

Cheng Hexi had visited the old lady's place many times before, but had never set foot inside.

This is Youyue's private space from childhood to adulthood.

He lived here from the age of five to eighteen.

Pushing open the door, a spacious bedroom comes into view, decorated in a simple yet elegant style that he would like. A partition separates it from the study. The room is spotless, indicating that it is regularly cleaned.

Cheng Hexi liked floor-to-ceiling windows, and went straight to the window as soon as she entered the room.

The window faces the beautiful garden inside the courtyard.

You Yue has seen this kind of scenery for over ten years.

Over the past ten years, he has grown into a smart, sharp, and proud young man, and after another ten years of transformation, he has become the You Yue we know today.

He said he could watch it anywhere, so Cheng Hexi stopped being polite to him.

When you fall in love with someone, you want to know everything about them.

She was very curious about his past life.

Opening the wardrobe, the clothes were still neatly arranged, but none of them resembled "Boss You's" attire.

Instead of the row of bespoke suits in their home, there were no cufflinks or ties. Instead, sportswear and hoodie sets took up most of the space, with his international school uniform hanging in the corner.

You Yue met her gaze, smiled slightly, and said that they were all clothes from her university days.

When he was studying at Stanford, he would stay here with his grandmother when he came home on holidays. He only moved out to live on his own after he took over Hong Sheng.

His room remained untouched.

Yu Yue said that it might be because he grew up with his father, and the old lady felt that he lacked his childhood, so she always wanted to preserve his past moments completely.

Cheng Hexi pursed her lips, then remembered the scar on his forehead, and asked softly, "When you were little, were you unhappy every day in the You family?"

You Yue paused slightly upon hearing this.

In fact, if the scar hadn't remained, he would hardly remember anything. The subsequent happiness was enough to overshadow those emotions, even though the memories and the hurt were still there.

"My memories of that time are not very clear. I only remember that after I learned to use chopsticks, I always ate the things I didn't like with him. He usually didn't pay much attention to me, no matter whether I did well or not."

You Yue frowned slightly, and every time he thought about it, he would sigh, "He truly loved my mother, but he also truly hated me."

She asked the question, and that's when she started to feel sorry for him.

Cheng Hexi didn't know what to say, so she shook You Yue's hand.

She then recalled that before they even got their marriage certificate, she had heard You Yue and Qi Xuan say that he didn't like to eat anything.

Humans aren't without a sense of taste, so how could they not have preferences for food?

Looking back now, it might have a lot to do with the fact that he was forced to eat foods he didn't like when he was a child.

At that time, he was convincing himself to accept the tastes he didn't like, and over time, he became less picky about food.

You Yue chuckled at her little gesture, patted her hair, and told her not to overthink it.

He asked, "Shall we go? Let's go to the study."

Cheng Hexi nodded.

Before closing the closet door, her eyes were suddenly drawn to a black outfit in the lower left corner.

You Yue followed her gaze and saw that it was a ski suit.

"You can ski?" she asked.

You Yue nodded, a hint of smugness in his eyes, like some kind of creature about to spread its tail feathers.

Cheng Hexi noticed it and found it amusing.

Hong Sheng's financial reports are so impressive that financial magazines can't get him an interview. How could You Yue, a man of such talent, show such an expression because of something like this?

She smiled and asked deliberately, "Is it impressive?"

"Of course," You Yue replied without any politeness.

Cheng Hexi, however, did not praise him as he wished. Instead, she closed the wardrobe and walked with him toward the study.

After entering the study, she smiled and made a request: "Such an amazing young master, I can't ski, can you teach me? When we go, will the ski resorts in New Zealand be open?"

It will be open until mid-October.

You Yue said "Okay," adding, "I'd be happy to." But then, looking down, he jokingly asked, "How much will the tuition be?"

Upon hearing this, Cheng Hexi reached out and patted his chest, feeling that this man was constantly digging traps for her. She said, "Teach me first, then we'll talk!"

You Yue smiled.

Cheng Hexi had never skied before, and the thought of trying something new in New Zealand filled her with excitement. In reality, she knew she was mostly excited about her upcoming honeymoon.

I don't know when I last felt this kind of anticipation.

She wandered around the study, while You Yue leaned against the bookshelf fiddling with his phone, no longer holding her hand.

A moment later, the person who had been loitering returned to his side. Seeing his serious expression, they raised an eyebrow: "Working?"

"No." You Yue smiled slightly and reached out her hand as she saw her coming.

Cheng Hexi leaned closer, and You Yue showed her the lit screen.

"I'm ordering a custom ski suit. What color do you like?"

She slightly widened her eyes, looked up at him, and didn't say anything.

You Yue raised the corner of his lips slightly: "What's wrong?"

"You really are..." Cheng Hexi's eyes flickered slightly, filled with emotion.

Less than three minutes after she said she wanted to go skiing, he went from "hearing" to "thinking" to "doing," demonstrating such high execution ability and truly making sure that "every word was responded to."

You Yue knew what she wanted to say, and deliberately nitpicked, "Why do you always suddenly stop talking when you're about to praise me?"

Cheng Hexi was amused and tiptoed to kiss his cheek: "Thank you, husband."

You Yue's gaze, which had been teasing, suddenly deepened upon hearing the word "husband." He reached out and lifted her chin, then lowered his eyes to kiss her lips.

The kiss carried a hint of pressure; she felt the warmth of the man's hand through the fabric of her shirt on her waist. Even as he pulled back during the kiss, she felt incredibly safe.

A few seconds later, You Yue picked her up and put her on the desk.

Cheng Hexi then realized that this was You Yue's study before he turned eighteen, where he used to study and read, and where they were kissing now.

As their lips parted, You Yue stroked her hair, looked at the familiar surroundings, and had the same thought as her.

He suddenly began to imagine what would have happened if they had known each other in high school.

After a moment's thought, the warmth in my arms made me realize that nothing, no matter how unreal or hypothetical, mattered as it was, could compare to the meaning of this embrace.

Feeling his embrace, Cheng Hexi remembered that she seemed to have knocked over something when she first sat down at the table, and reached out to feel around for it.

She saw a photo of You Yue wearing a school uniform.

You Yue helped her pick it up, saying that it was a photo taken on the day he graduated from high school.

Cheng Hexi glanced at it a few more times and began searching for his other photos.

You Yue smiled, noticing that she wanted to see, and opened the drawer, taking out his photo album and graduation photos.

Cheng Hexi flipped through the pages with great interest for a long time. Finally, she picked up the pictures of him from kindergarten and high school and compared them with his current appearance.

She noticed that You Yue had grown up almost proportionally, and he was very handsome since he was a child. Now, he has gained an even more mature and charming aura.

When he put the photo down, the phenomenon of visual persistence came into play again, and Cheng Hexi's vision was still fixed on the photo of him when he was a child.

In that instant, she suddenly thought, for some reason, which of their children would resemble more?

Cheng Hexi was almost startled by her own thoughts.

Looking up at You Yue, a strand of his hair fell across his forehead, but his features were still very handsome.

You Yue had no idea what she was thinking. He loosened his grip and rested his arms on the desk. They were very close, almost breathing each other.

He chuckled and asked, "You still haven't told me what color ski suit you want to wear?"

"What color are you wearing?" Cheng Hexi suddenly snapped back to reality.

"White or black, it's fine."

"Then I'll wear white, and you wear black."

Without much thought, she made arrangements for both of them.

"good."

You Yue smiled and agreed.

Her posture while sitting on the table shortened the height difference between the two, making the close proximity even more ambiguous, as if they were about to kiss again at any moment.

You Yue looked into her eyes, then suddenly grabbed her hand and touched the jade-like skin on his chest through her shirt.

When Cheng Hexi saw it, she could even recall the image of You Yue biting the knot of the peace buckle on the bed.

“My grandmother asked for this after my minor car accident when I was eighteen.” You Yue smiled slightly. “She felt that I had been getting into all sorts of minor accidents over the past eighteen years, so she needed something to protect me and keep me safe.”

"The old lady seems a bit superstitious," he said.

"Grandma loves you very much."

Cheng Hexi looked at him and thought that he was so loving, he must have received a lot of love from the two elderly people after moving here.

"yes."

You Yue took a bag from the inside pocket of his suit and took out a safety buckle from it.

The chain is exquisitely braided, and the jade appears even more lustrous under the light.

You Yue placed it in Cheng Hexi's palm.

“After that, things seemed to go very smoothly for me, and I was quite lucky.” He smiled slightly. “So, this one is for you.”

Heaven is round and earth is square; peace and good fortune await.

May it protect you.

Author's Note: While writing this chapter, I realized that both Xi and Yue thought the other's appearance perfectly matched their aesthetic preferences. In fact, a large part of Xi's positive initial impression of Yue was because of his face, haha.

Xi has a particularly striking and elegant appearance. I always write that she likes woody perfumes; she's the kind of beautiful woman who exudes a woody scent.

Today's entry is still short, but I'll try to write more tomorrow, which is Saturday!

Thanks for reading, goodnight everyone! [heart emoji]
