Chapter 61 Human Bait

Gazing at the eerie yet harmless reflection in the water, Yin Zhu stretched out a finger and gently touched the surface. She watched the ripples spread from her fingertip outwards, gradually shattering the once perfectly still reflection. Yin Zhu sighed, "That scared me to death! Luckily, it was just a reflection; there's nothing else there."

She lowered her head, trying to see the bottom of the water through her reflection.

Suddenly, a pair of water-like hands emerged from the surface and swiftly touched Yin Zhu's neck. Yin Zhu cried out in surprise and fell into the water, immediately swallowing a liquid with a foul odor.

Yin Zhu curled up and plunged directly into the water. The moment she was submerged, she felt as if countless hands were trying to tear her body apart.

She quickly closed her mouth and eyes, feeling the weightlessness as she was pulled by gravity and buoyancy.

As the sensation of her hands around her gradually disappeared, Yin Zhu suddenly realized that her back was above water. She immediately changed her posture, slowly swam out of the pond, and climbed up the bank. While wringing out the water from the corner of her clothes, she looked at the water surface.

Before long, large patches of blood red appeared on the water's surface.

Yin Zhu ignored these details, expressionless as she continued to squeeze the moisture out of her hair, waiting for news from Jing Gui.

One minute, two minutes, three minutes...

After an unknown amount of time, the crimson liquid gradually disappeared, and the water surface returned to its normal reflection. Then it turned into a cloud of black mist, but this time the mist was more solidified.

Are you alright?

Yin Zhu smiled slightly. Although she was soaking wet and the sun was nowhere to be seen in this wretched place called Sin City, she was still in a good mood after seeing the Mirror Demon succeed.

“I’m fine, no, I’m excellent.” Mirror Ghost’s tone was somewhat excited. “And I’ve discovered something very important.”
