Chapter 166 The Silent Manor 8

"I told you to study diligently under Teacher Mo's guidance, but what have you actually learned?"

"So you've learned how to drive your father to his death?"

The voice of the Chen family patriarch came from behind the thick wooden door.

Bai Sang looked around to make sure no one was watching before continuing to listen.

"Brother-in-law, why are you angry? How can you blame the child for this? You're never home, so the child hears mostly from your mistress."

"I think Teacher Mo isn't the kind of person who talks too much, right, Shen Yuan?"

Shen Yuan gave a soft "hmm".

This sound enraged the head of the Chen family.

"How dare she! How dare she!"

There were footsteps on the stairs, and Bai Sang quickly stood up straight and moved a few steps to the side.

The person who came was Mrs. Chen.

What are they saying inside?

Bai Sang shook her head, "I can't hear you."

Mrs. Chen frowned slightly and gently pressed her face against the door.

The door opened the instant she leaned down.

The head of the Chen family looked at her with a gloomy expression.

"So it was you."

Mrs. Chen tossed her hair, crossed her forearms over her waist, and gave a charming look.

"It's me. You've come back, but you didn't even look at me properly, so I had no choice but to come after you."

The Chen family patriarch suddenly gave a wicked smile, and the greasy Bai Sang felt a little horrified.

He picked up Mrs. Chen and carried her towards her room.

Shen Yuan watched this scene in silence.

"Uncle, I'm going back to practicing my boxing."

The uncle nodded, "Go ahead, no matter what you do, your uncle will support you."

Shen Yuan thought for a moment.

"From now on, you'll stay by my side every step of the way."

The old man nodded solemnly, but a trace of sadness flashed in his eyes.

As he passed by Bai Sang, Bai Sang heard him murmur something.

"How insecure is this child? What kind of child is the Chen family trying to raise?"

Bai Sang really doubted the accuracy of the rules when his uncle, who cared so much about his juniors, was so concerned about his uncle.

The rule states that you must kill someone if necessary.

Judging from the uncle's appearance, there shouldn't be a need for that.

This companionship lasted until dinner time.

The table was laden with a dazzling array of food.

Shen Yuan sat calmly at the table, watching the two men clink glasses and chat.

Mrs. Chen looked very satisfied tonight.

After downing a cup of wine, Uncle Shenyuan looked at the head of the Chen family.

"Brother-in-law, do you still stand by what you promised our family back then?"

The head of the Chen family calmly looked at him and said, "Of course."

"Every woman who married into the family after that had taken a drug that would prevent her from having children."

[I knew something was wrong; damn it, they'd drugged me.]

No, he can choose not to marry in order to secure his own son's position.

[Ugh, the face of men, disgusting.]

Mrs. Chen's smile vanished in an instant.

"What did you say? What did you say?"

Shen Yuan calmly looked at Mrs. Chen.

"That's why I've told you so many times, I can't die, because if I die, the Chen family line will end, but you never believe me."

Mrs. Chen looked at the head of the Chen family, but received no response from him.

"No wonder, no wonder you've ignored me all these years, even when I wanted to have an affair, you never paid any attention to me."

"So I'm not worthy of being the real mistress of this house at all? I'm not worthy of having my own child?"

"I just wanted a child to protect me; I never intended to steal anything."

Mrs. Chen's voice was so shrill that it gave Bai Sang goosebumps.

You don't deserve it.

"You are just like the previous four; you are simply women I married to temper Yuan'er's will."

"You are just a whetstone."

The head of the Chen family looked at Mrs. Chen, seemingly quite surprised by her idea.

“How could I possibly let you bear my offspring? You are selfish, shallow, short-sighted, and vicious. If it weren’t for your usefulness, I wouldn’t have married you.”

Mrs. Chen stood there stunned for a long time before giving a sorrowful smile.

“No wonder, no wonder. On the day I married into the family, my grandmother, who truly loved me, cried and said that I was going to suffer. I didn’t believe it.”

"So that's how it is. She saw things very clearly."

As they spoke, Bai Sang saw wisps of black energy emanating from Mrs. Chen's body.

She was completely corrupted.

Resentment soared to the heavens.

Shen Yuan glanced at Mo Yuan, who was rushing over.

"I have some, I'll give it to you."

Mo Yuan immediately began to calmly roll out his emotions.

However, after Mrs. Chen was corrupted, the blame was directed at Shen Yuan and his uncle.

The instigator, the head of the Chen family, was automatically ignored.

“Every wrong has its perpetrator, and every debt has its debtor. It was you who threatened the Chen family to prevent me from having children.”

Mrs. Chen raised her hand, which had grown long and black nails, and rushed towards Uncle Shen Yuan.

Uncle Shenyuan had probably never seen anything like this before, and for a moment, he forgot to resist.

Just as the black fingernails were about to pierce his chest, Mrs. Chen's body swayed, and she flew out sideways.

Shen Yuan calmly withdrew his leg and stood in front of his uncle.

"Uncle, are you crazy? You don't even know how to hide?"

Mrs. Chen immediately turned her attention to Shen Yuan.

"It's all your fault, it's all your fault!"

The head of the Chen family sat calmly in his chair, watching the scene with a smile, seemingly quite satisfied with what he was seeing.

Shen Yuan seemed to have thought of something. He picked up the plate and pushed Mrs. Chen aside, being careful not to touch her.

“You’ve got the wrong person. He was the one who brought it up.”

“After my mother passed away, my uncle wanted to take me in and raise me, but your husband disagreed and even made that request himself.”
