Chapter 338 Touching Qin Mo's Heart

Chapter 338 Touching Qin Mo's Heart

"Are you sure it was someone from the sea tribe... who harmed Brother Prometheus?"

The saintess looked at Qin Mo meaningfully and said, "A hundred years ago, when the sea race was powerful, many mermaid royalty had unclear relationships with humans. However... beautiful legends are ultimately very few, while many disappeared after being seduced by mermaid royalty."

Qin Mo felt the pendant formed from a tear of Shia on his chest and remained silent. After he and Shia had a one-night stand, Shia's aunt, Audrey, gave him a precious drop of the Fountain of Life as compensation.

Later, Qin Mo asked them why they wanted compensation. Audrey and Shia stammered that the mermaid's first time had caused great harm to the male human, and that the precious Fountain of Life was needed to compensate. Of course, if Shia hadn't awakened at that time, the Fountain of Life certainly wouldn't exist.

"Prome is very thin. Could it be that his awakening failed, causing permanent damage?"

When Promi appeared the next day, Qin Mo almost couldn't help but ask him how the sea creatures had hurt him. Looking at the handsome uncle now, he must have been a heartthrob more than ten years ago. How could the sea creatures be so cruel? Even if he couldn't awaken, it could still become a beautiful story, right?

“Heatherine, things have changed. Yesterday I went to find my former informants, but they were all gone. Apparently, they were suddenly transferred to the north, and we can no longer use their connections to infiltrate the labor force heading north.”

"Promi, are you sure they were also sent towards the White Sea, and not to the front lines?"

"No, they are all officers stationed in St. Petersburg. There was no special recall order recently, so they did not leave normally."

"You mean... even the officers who were originally stationed there have been transferred away, so what important thing are the orcs building in the north?"

"No matter what it is, if we don't get the cooperation of our inside players, we can't get into that suspicious place silently."

“Then we’ll break in. Isn’t that why you asked the Temple for help?” Saintess Heatherine said with a sharp look in her eyes, showing no fear.

"It seems this is the only way, and it's the last resort," Promi said helplessly, looking clearly somewhat remorseful.

Promi began drawing on the ground, discussing various details with Heather and speculating on the orcs' true purpose. After a while, he casually turned his head and saw Qin Mo standing to the side with her arms crossed, watching the two of them with a very unfriendly look in her eyes.

"Your Excellency Qin Mo, what are your opinions on our plan?" Promi asked calmly.

"My opinion? Does my opinion matter?" Qin Mo said coldly in Daxia language. Damn it, you two were having a great time talking in that bird language, and now you're asking me for my opinion? Don't you know I'm bad at foreign languages? You just don't want me to share your intelligence network in the orc territory.

"Oh! It's not important!"

Promi wasn't one to mince words. He turned back to continue discussing with Heather. This trip to the White Sea and back would be thousands of miles long, requiring the use of many of the Temple's informants in the Rakshasa Kingdom. The return trip would also require cover and support. They needed to carefully consider how to use the fewest possible personnel. And all of this, they wanted to keep from Qin Mo as much as possible.

It was Prome's idea that caused them to miss the truth. If he had carefully explained the information he had to Qin Mo, Qin Mo would definitely have sensed something... a feeling of déjà vu.

The White Sea is at least a thousand miles northeast of St. Petersburg, and due to its high latitude, it is very cold even in early spring.

The three of them took a long detour from the south of St. Petersburg and arrived at Lake Onega, intending to head north from there directly to the southernmost tip of the North Sea, where there are many fishing villages where they could get the latest news.

Along the way, Qin Mo changed her usual gentle temperament, coldly ignoring the two of them. This was because Prome would use Latin whenever she talked about the orc race, and it was inconvenient for Heather to translate for Qin Mo. Later, whenever Qin Mo saw the two discussing the enemy situation, she would immediately walk away to avoid seeing them and getting annoyed.

“Promi, you’re making Lord Qin Mo misunderstand. The three of us are together, and you understand the Great Xia language.” Qin Mo once again left the two of them to camp alone, which made Heather feel a little unhappy.

“Heather, a young man who loves pleasure, if he knew we were traveling between the territories of several orc clans, wouldn’t he be afraid and lose confidence?” Promi looked in the direction of Qin Mo’s camp and explained to Heather in a low voice.

"I can assure you that Lord Qin Mo is a fearless warrior," Heatherine said with certainty.

“Hatherine, this time we may have to force our way in. We don’t know what dangers we will face. We could all be captured. If anyone can’t withstand the torture, our escape route and our contact persons will be exposed.”

“Hatherine, I know your devotion to the Temple, and I would never betray my brothers in the Temple, but can Qin Mo keep the secret to the death? He’s too pleasure-seeking. Can you be sure that someone who loves pleasure is a fearless warrior?” Promi made no attempt to hide his dissatisfaction with Qin Mo.

Promi had one more concern he didn't mention: Qin Mo was a Great Xia citizen, and he wouldn't sacrifice himself to protect the Holy Temple's covert operations within the Rakshasa Kingdom. Furthermore, his strength wasn't high, meaning he would inevitably be the last to escape during the retreat. The less he knew, the better for the Holy Temple.
