Chapter 356 Achilles' Resentment

Chapter 356 Achilles' Resentment

"Little one, what are you looking for?"

Despite the gentle tone of the voice, Qin Mo immediately retreated, intending to go to the hall outside the stone gate first.

"Bang!"

Qin Mo's back slammed solidly against the stone door, producing a dull thud that echoed throughout the silent palace.

Qin Mo finally broke out in a cold sweat. He had no idea when the tall stone door had closed, despite his keen senses.

"Hehe! Looks like I scared you... Huh!"

The gentle voice vanished abruptly, only to return after a long pause: "Who sent you? Nicholas? Campbell? Or Zilina?"

Qin Mo clearly sensed the change in the voice; it had lost some of its gentleness and gained more of annoyance and dissatisfaction.

"Who are you?" Qin Mo forced herself to calm down and asked instead of answering.

"...Since you've come all this way... you don't even know who I am?" The gentle voice turned authoritative, making Qin Mo even more nervous.

The most terrifying enemy is the one you can't see. Qin Mo scanned the entire Moon Palace, but couldn't see anyone. Judging from the way they had just talked, the other party was clearly a sentient being rather than some kind of magic array.

"You...aren't you...from the royal court?"

The gentle voice suddenly turned icy cold, and an aura appeared out of nowhere in the hall, putting immense pressure on Qin Mo while also letting her know the other party's location.

Deep inside the main hall was a high platform, which Qin Mo had seen at first, but it was empty and there was nothing on it, so Qin Mo didn't pay much attention to it. Now Qin Mo sensed that the oppressive aura in the main hall was coming from the high platform.

Unaware of the situation, Qin Mo dared not use her vital energy to resist. Instead, she activated the dim star vortex within her body once more, scattering a burst of multicolored starlight to envelop herself and withstand the sudden pressure.

"For the sake of your royal blood, I forgive your offense!" As starlight shimmered around Qin Mo, the immense pressure suddenly vanished, and then the majestic voice continued, "Since you have come here, you should accept your mission. Now step forward and accept my gift!"

A ball of light appeared on the high platform, slowly transforming into a human shape.

He had a handsome face that rivaled Qin Mo's, with long, platinum-gold hair cascading down his sides. His pure white robe was adorned with star-like jewels, and a dazzling crown revealed his identity to Qin Mo.

"Your Majesty Achilles?" Qin Mo couldn't help but exclaim!

The humanoid figure of light frowned and said, "Why are you surprised? Who are you? Why are you here?"

Qin Mo's mind raced. He couldn't figure out what this light and shadow was and was completely unable to deal with it. In the end, he had no choice but to bite the bullet and answer, "My mother is Luna. She was a Saint-level expert in the Elf race, but she disappeared for some reason more than ten years ago. I heard that this place is the holy land of the Elf race, so I wanted to come and see if there were any clues to find out where the Elf race went!"

"Oh! Your mother is a Saint-level expert, no wonder your bloodline power is so strong. Come here! Little one, you can receive my inheritance!" Achilles' voice became gentle again, and the soft light and shadow beckoned to Qin Mo, signaling him to go to the high platform.

Qin Mo hesitated greatly. It was rumored that after Emperor Achilles was seriously injured, the Elven royal court immediately fled overseas. Now, the sudden appearance of an Elven emperor's image here was extremely strange.

Qin Mo had no way of asking Achilles whether the image was his remnant soul or his memories, but he himself had successfully possessed this body after transmigrating, and he had an innate wariness and fear of such an intangible image life.

"My father came here six years ago. I wonder if Your Majesty has seen him?" Qin Mo couldn't think of any other excuse to stall for time, so she had no choice but to bring up her cheap old man.

Akris's image turned cold, and he said in an extremely authoritative tone, "How can the sacred land of the elves be desecrated by greedy aliens? Over the years, I have lost count of how many aliens have perished in this Moon Palace. Which one is your father?"

Achilles waved his hand, and the starlight in the Moon Palace shifted, instantly revealing countless skeletons on the previously empty floor.

Qin Mo gasped and leaned his back firmly against the stone door, so that at least he wouldn't worry about any danger behind him.

Qin Mo's gaze swept across the entire hall, then her body began to tremble, and tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.

"What? Are you grieving for them? As a member of the Elven royal family, how can you be moved by these foreigners?" Achilles shouted angrily at Qin Mo's expression.

Qin Mo finally left the stone gate and walked deeper into the main hall, where there was a figure that was extremely familiar and important to him, or rather, a corpse.

The noble robes of the Great Xia Dynasty were made of very fine materials and could be stored in tombs for decades without being damaged, so Qin Mo spotted Qin Lan wearing a Great Xia Dynasty python robe at a glance.

Whether it was the strong sense of intimacy within this body or Qin Mo's principles of conduct, it all made Qin Mo disregard the unknown dangers and head straight for Qin Mo's side.

"Don't come any closer..." Just as Qin Mo was not far from Qin Lan's corpse, a wisp of consciousness suddenly entered his mind.

Qin Mo immediately stopped and shook her head to try to figure out if she was hallucinating.

"Xiao Mo... don't come any closer..." This time, her consciousness was weaker than the first time, but Qin Mo was certain... this was not a hallucination.
