Chapter 627 We Have Someone Above Us
When Qin Mo, Luna, Ni Xiusi, and Qi Lina emerged from the Moon Palace, the moon had just risen to its zenith. He bid farewell to his mother and the beautiful Qi Lina, preparing to return to his residence for a good night's sleep.
Among the large army that came to Oslo this time, Qin Mo's strength was not the most outstanding, but in terms of the luxury of his residence, it was definitely the most outstanding.
The only remaining intact dwellings in Oslo are inhabited by free elves. Kabul originally wanted to vacate these houses for the adults of the royal court, but Nelia and Zilina refused. The royal court has military tents, which are more comfortable than those houses with nothing but four walls.
Qin Mo's tent, however, was the most luxurious, so much so that Nelia told him not to get too close to the royal tent, lest the other elves mistake Qin Mo's tent for the royal tent.
A two-foot-high platform was constructed from high-quality hardwood from Southeast Asia, covered with beautifully grained flooring, and included a living room, bedrooms, kitchen, and bathroom. Waterproof felt blankets were stretched over the sturdy frame, protecting against wind, snow, and heat. This luxurious duplex tent showcased the highest level of craftsmanship in Taiwan, capable of being erected and decorated within an hour.
Qin Mo waved away the attendants who had been waiting for him, pushed open the door and went into the room. As he took off his clothes, he entered the bedroom and saw a dark figure sitting on his bed.
"Holy crap... what are you doing here? You scared me half to death..."
Isabelle sat on Qin Mo's bed with her back to the window. The moonlight shone through her from behind, and her mysterious and cold appearance made Qin Mo shiver, and her drowsiness vanished.
"Why did the elves suddenly return to Oslo? Are you now a member of the Elven Royal Court?" Isabel's voice was as cold and indifferent as the moonlight.
"Isabel, we've been through thick and thin together, what kind of tone is that? So what if I'm a member of the Royal Court? So what if I'm not?" Qin Mo was very dissatisfied with Isabel's cold tone, and her words became somewhat sharp.
Isabel sighed and said calmly, "The Crimson Council can't possibly remain indifferent to such a significant event as the Elven race's return to Oslo. I can help you fight, but I have no obligation to fight for the Elven race. If you weren't a member of the Elven Royal Court, I would only intervene when you are in danger."
Qin Mo felt much better after hearing Isabel's words. "Don't worry! The elves only want to restore the glory and territory of their ancestors. They pose no threat to your vampire race. As for helping me fight... do you think I'm weak? I'm quite capable of fighting myself..."
"Are you very strong? Perhaps! Did you bring the royal elves into the Moon Palace today? Did they ask where Achilles' remains were?"
"Of course I asked! How could I not ask?"
"Oh! What did you say?" Isabel's emotions finally showed a slight fluctuation.
"Don't worry, we're accomplices, why would I be stupid? I told them that His Majesty the Emperor couldn't control his flames and burned himself to death."
"You're wrong. I took Achilles' heart, and I dismembered his body. If this is ever exposed, it has nothing to do with you. Do you... understand?"
"Alright, alright, even if it gets exposed, I can handle it. The royal court is full of my people now. At most, I'll get a scolding, it's nothing serious."
Isabel adopted the demeanor of a dark queen, coldly and authoritatively telling Qin Mo that she would take full responsibility for her actions, but unfortunately, Qin Mo didn't care at all.
Dismembering Achilles is indeed a serious crime, but we have powerful connections! The royal court currently has two Elf Kings—Nelia of the Silvermoon Clan and Qilina of the Sun Moon Clan. Which one of them will bring us to justice? Luna promises to disqualify her from being their prospective daughter-in-law.
Isabel left. She hadn't seen Qin Mo for a long time. They chatted for quite a while, and then Qin Mo made her so angry that she bared her little fangs. Ever since they first met in the Moon Palace that year, Qin Mo had made sure to make Isabel furious every time they met.
Qin Mo finally took off her clothes and went to bed, intending to catch up on some sleep; it was almost dawn.
A gust of wind entered Qin Mo's residence, greatly disturbing Qin Mo who was preparing to fall asleep.
"Why are you back again? Freeport is yours, so all the money you make is yours. Why do you insist on sharing it with me? With your two worthless coins... Mom, what brings you here?"
"Let me see who was in your bed just now!"
Luna scanned Qin Mo's bedroom quickly like a secret agent, then sniffed it carefully like a hunting dog.
"Hmm! It smells like top-tier perfume, a secret perfume made in your palace's small workshop. Plus, you mentioned a free port earlier, haha! And you still say you and that Isabel are innocent?" Luna snapped her fingers triumphantly, giving herself a thumbs up for her uncanny foresight.
"Uh... okay! She did come by earlier, but only to inquire about the specific purpose of the Elven race's return to the Western Continent. I've already explained to her that the Elven race will not have any disputes with the Vampire race." Qin Mo helplessly shrugged, indicating that it was up to them to believe it or not!
"Forget it! Asking you this so late at night? I've lived for hundreds of years, do you think I can't tell what kind of look she gives you? This Isabel... she's quite the enigma!"
Luna finally left after nagging for a long time, but Qin Mo couldn't fall asleep. She tossed and turned, her mind filled with Isabel's pink eyes.
