Sea Survival: My Raft Leads to Paradise

Waking up, the world had turned upside down. Numerous humans entered a game called "Sea Survival." Starting with a raft and a fishing rod, all supplies depended on fishing.

Chapter 17: Catching Pheasants and Discovering Coal Mine (2/2)

My hands hurt so much and my arms are so tired!

Wei Lin was very concerned about this and kept asking about Lu Xingchen's situation.

Lu Xingchen showed him the axe: "The [Iron Axe] isn't very good; it takes more than half an hour to chop down a single tree..."

Wei Lin was silent for a moment, then said, "Actually, there's nothing wrong with the axe. If it were me, I could chop down a tree in about 10 minutes."

Lu Xingchen: ...

I understand now. She's too weak. It seems we need to find a way to increase her strength!

Lu Xingchen was still tenacious. She gritted her teeth and continued. By one o'clock in the afternoon, she had chopped down several more trees and obtained 500 pieces of wood.

She really couldn't chop any more, so she sat down to rest for more than half an hour, ate the bread she brought with her, and drank some water.

While eating and drinking, she casually turned on the chat window, where players were swearing at each other:

Wei Lin kept sending messages, looking worried: "Damn it, bad luck today. I've only managed to retrieve two boxes so far, and they're full of wood and nails. Why are the others so lucky?"

Lu Xingchen glanced at the chat screen and noticed that the players were generally lucky today. Some had found wood and nails, some had found food and drinks, and some had even opened chests to get a large cotton-padded coat.

Some people even got blankets, and so on.

A thought struck her: the newbie protection period ended early this morning, and she had no idea what would happen next.

Now, players have acquired a lot of resources, presumably in preparation for the end of the beginner phase.

She needs to quickly expand the raft to 100 square meters. The wood is fine, but the gaps in the iron nails are too big.

Wei Lin: "Ah, what bad luck. Sitting on the raft, staring at the sea without moving, like an empty-nest old man, so bored. If only I could go to the island like you."

Lu Xingchen had a sudden inspiration: "Wei Lin, I need your help. If you have time, could you help me collect some iron nails using water, steamed buns, and fresh fish? I'll give you the supplies and a small fishing net when I get back tonight, okay?"

Wei Lin was very excited: "A small fishing net? You used this to catch cod?"

Lu Xingchen: “Yes!”

Wei Lin was full of energy: "OK, no problem!"

After giving Wei Lin his instructions, Lu Xingchen stood up.

She doesn't plan to chop down trees today; it's too tiring!

We're still short a little over 100 pieces of timber; I'll collect some when I get back tonight.

Besides, we can't keep using today's lucky critical hit on wood; there are other resources to collect!

Following her memory, she went to the spot where she had found the coal the day before and began searching the area.

Logically speaking, there should be a coal mine here.

There were many weeds nearby, about two meters tall. Lu Xingchen cautiously used his long spear to push aside the weeds and search around.

When pushing aside another clump of weeds, two colorful pheasants flew out with a "flutter".

They dragged their long tails, called "coo coo", flew to a place not far away, and disappeared into another patch of grass.

Pheasant? Chicken?

Lu Xingchen's eyes lit up.

The deliciousness is coming!

She picked up her spear and chased after the pheasant, leaping over patches of grass and sending it scattering in all directions.

She found two piles of eggs in the grass, picked them up, and put them in her backpack.

One of the two pheasants just now had gorgeous feathers and was very beautiful, while the other one had dull feathers. One should be a male and the other a female. Most of the eggs here should be able to hatch chicks.

We'll take these eggs back and figure out how to hatch them into chicks, so we'll have a steady supply of eggs and chicken to eat from then on.

Just thinking about it makes me happy. Even if all I get today are these eggs, it's still a good haul.

Never mind, I'll eat chicken tomorrow!

Lu Xingchen turned and left. The pheasant with its gorgeous plumage was very timid. Thinking that she was going to continue chasing it, it desperately tried to squeeze into a hole. Its body went in, but its long feathers and tail were sticking out.

Lu Xingchen raised an eyebrow, raised the spear, and threw it forcefully.

[A pheasant has been killed. Should we collect the loot?]
