Chapter 364 Kyoto, Hello

Winter in Kyoto is still just as bitterly cold.

As soon as he got off the train, Bu Ling was blown off balance by the strong north wind.

She wrapped her cotton-padded coat tighter around herself, then turned to the side and tugged at her daughter's scarf: "Tell Grandpa, have we arrived yet?"

Sangshen pulled her daughter closer to her chest. "I told you."

As he spoke, taking advantage of his tall stature, he looked around, searching for the person who was there to pick him up.

"Xiao Qi, this!"

Sangshen looked in the direction of the voice and said, "It's Dongzi, let's go."

He carried his daughter and led the way, while Bling followed behind with a suitcase.

The family of three struggled to squeeze in front of Xie Dong.

"Thank you, Brother Xie."

"Godfather~"

"Hey, my darling daughter, do you miss your godfather?" Xie Dong was about to take the box from Bu Ling's hand, but when he heard Xiao Xingxing's sweet voice, he immediately turned around, snatched Xiao Xingxing from Sang Shen's arms, and asked with a smile.

"I miss him." Little Star was as sweet as ever: "I miss my godfather so much, and my godmother too."

Xie Dong was overjoyed by her flattery, feeling that she was the perfect sweetheart.

After cuddling with my beloved goddaughter for a while, I finally remembered the important matter: "The car is parked outside, let's talk as we walk."

"Where's your luggage? Just these two suitcases?"

Sangshen picked up the box and said, "We only took some clothes; the rest were sent over."

"That's good, you have a child with you."

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, the group turned and walked outside.

Xie Dong's car was parked on the side of the road in a very conspicuous place; you could see it as soon as you came out.

He took the lead, carrying Little Star to the car, opened the back door, and instructed, "Little Seven, you drive."

Sangzhen glanced at him, but considering their long-awaited reunion, she decided not to argue and held out her hand: "The key."

Xie Dong held the chubby boy in one arm, took out the keys from his pocket, and tossed them over: "Here you go."

Sangshen took the key, opened the driver's side door, and Buling automatically and consciously sat in the passenger seat.

It was getting late, but they didn't linger and drove straight to the compound.

Before Buling and Sangshen could even give their reflections, Xie Dong and Xiaoxing started causing a huge scene.

They hadn't seen each other for only twenty-odd days, but the father and son were so excited about their long-awaited reunion that even Bu Ling, their mother, got goosebumps.

No wonder Little Star is the group's darling; he can just casually utter cheesy words.

"Godfather, I miss you so much."

"Godfather, where have you been? Mianmian hasn't seen you in so long."

"Godfather, Xingxing has lost weight from missing you so much."

Xie Dong was so pleased with himself that he couldn't stop smiling. On the way back to the compound, he gave out many nice things, showing that he was willing to spend a fortune for a beauty.

Back in the compound, the car stopped in front of the Sang family's house, and the group got out one by one.

Xie Dong, carrying Xiao Xingxing, took the lead, followed by Bu Ling carrying a suitcase, while Sang Shen parked the car on the side of the road.

Once inside, there was another burst of laughter and cheerful conversation.

However, understanding that the Buling family of three had been traveling long, they finished their meal early and sent the three of them to bed.

Originally, Little Star was supposed to sleep on the third floor, but this little devil refused to eat and insisted on sticking to Grandpa Sang, determined to sleep with his great-grandfather.

What could Grandpa Sang do? He could only go with his beloved granddaughter...

After a good night's sleep, they finally had time to sit down and have a proper talk the next day.

The first question Grandpa Sang asked was, "You didn't make it clear in your letter. Didn't Dongzi say that you weren't planning to return to Kyoto anytime soon?"

Sangshen and Buling exchanged a glance and shook their heads simultaneously: "We don't know either."

“Suddenly, a transfer order came and moved us all to Kyoto, even my brother came,” Bu Ling explained.

She knew what was going on, but she couldn't say it, nor did she intend to.

Grandpa Sang frowned, deep in thought.

After a while without any result, he asked again, "Have you both settled on your jobs yet?"

Both of them nodded: "It's settled."

Which organization?

Sangshen said, "I've been transferred to the Supply Bureau as a section chief." That's considered a promotion.

Where is your granddaughter-in-law?

“I was transferred to the Cultural Heritage Bureau as an officer,” Bu Ling said.

After she finished speaking, she asked, "What does the Cultural Heritage Bureau do?"

She had never heard of it and had no idea what it did.

And this doesn't sound high-class at all.

But seeing that Sangshen and her brother have both been promoted, there's no reason why she, the person in charge, should be demoted, right?

Grandpa Sang had indeed heard of this Cultural Heritage Bureau. "It's a newly established department. I don't know exactly what it does, but the higher-ups attach great importance to it."

As he spoke, he gave Bu Ling a deep look. This kind of department was not easy to get into. He wondered what his granddaughter-in-law had done to catch the eye of those above.

Bu Ling pretended not to see the meaningful look in Grandpa Sang's eyes, and stroked his chin, frowning in deep thought.

The atmosphere in the old man's study quieted down.

Until the eldest daughter called from outside, "Mom, Dad~"

The study door was banged on loudly: "Going to buy clothes!"

Lost in thought, Bu Ling sighed and turned to look at Sang Shen: "You promised, so go."

Before they arrived, they packed up and sent most of Little Star's clothes, and Little Star pouted.

Sangshen felt sorry for her and her superiors promised to buy her a new one when they arrived in Kyoto.

And here I am, on my second day in Kyoto, demanding that someone fulfill their promise!

Sangshen awkwardly touched her nose, stood up, opened the study door, and picked up her eldest daughter from outside: "Daughter, are you full?"

Little Star patted his belly: "I'm full."
