After finishing his meal, Chu Wuyan stayed for a cup of tea to aid digestion before finally deciding to leave.

"Brother Qin, I'm completely won over by your cooking skills."

Before leaving, she suddenly remembered something, turned around, put her arm on Qin Yushen's shoulder, and said ingratiatingly, "You'll invite me to dinner again, right?"

Qin Yushen shrugged and dodged his arm. "Whether I invite you or not is up to my wife."

Look at how devoted he is to his wife! A grown man, listening to his wife so obediently... it's simply enviable.

Watching the heartwarming scene of the couple smiling at each other, Chu Wuyan was once again moved to tears.

He wondered to himself where his wife was.

He's already twenty-five; in a few more years he'll be considered an old man.

Being single is fun, but seeing others in pairs can be jarring.

Chu Wuyan's inner voice was biting a handkerchief, filled with envy and jealousy that made him feel like he was about to break apart.

It was extremely loud.

Lin Xiaoxiao and Qin Yushen exchanged a deep look and couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Qin Yushen looked at him as if he were some new species, but the fleeting smile in his eyes revealed his good mood.

"Alright, alright, I know you're not envious, hurry up and go." Lin Xiaoxiao started to shoo people away.

Chu Wuyan turned back every few steps, asking, "Sister Lin, do you really have no other instructions for me?"

Lin Xiaoxiao smiled, "Be careful on the road. The Party will protect you. Wishing you safety~ Wishing you safety~"

As they were talking, they even started singing.

Chu Wuyan: "..." I feel like I can't stay safe anymore.

He shuddered, and with the resolute determination of someone rushing into a fire, stepped out of the courtyard gate.

Few pedestrians were on the road, and the sky was gradually darkening. The straight, endless road ahead resembled a silent giant python winding into the depths of darkness.

"This awful weather..." Chu Wuyan pulled his collar tighter to keep out the cold wind.

The echoes of footsteps were exceptionally clear in the silence, each step feeling like a heartbeat. The wind began to whistle in their ears, sweeping through the empty streets and bringing a chill from afar.

Lin Xiaoxiao's humming tune was quite catchy, and before he knew it, Chu Wuyan had started humming along, even changing a word.

"Adulterer, die!!!"

The roar was like thunder, shattering the silence of the night.

Suddenly, a figure darted out from the dark alley, his eyes burning with furious rage that seemed to illuminate the entire night.

The sound of a sharp blade cutting through the cold wind brought a sense of fear and unease.

The person involved was also startled. His tall and upright figure jumped three feet high in an instant, and he screamed like a monkey, "Damn! Where did this big black rat come from?"

He dodged the dagger, took a closer look, and exclaimed, "Oh, isn't this the coward who only knows how to beat women?"

"Adulterer, you dare to sleep with my woman and cuckold me, I'll stab you to death..." The man cursed incessantly, his steps rapidly approaching Chu Wuyan. Each strike was aimed at Chu Wuyan's vital points, his movements filled with determination, as if he would not rest until he had stabbed him to death.

Chu Wuyan's eyes turned cold. "Who the hell is the adulterer? Are you blind?"

"If your eyes are useless, I'll gouge them out for you."

Chu Wuyan was a well-trained investigator, only one step away from becoming a special agent. Dealing with a man who only had rudimentary skills would be a piece of cake for him.

But as expected, an unexpected event is about to occur.

"Brothers, get them!" the big black rat man roared, and a dozen or so burly men sprang out of the alley.

Chu Wuyan: "..."

If you can't beat someone in a one-on-one fight, you call for backup?

A dozen or so strong men, each with an iron rod and a dagger, even a god couldn't handle them.

Before I knew it, my arm was slashed by a dagger.

"You bastard, you dare to cuckold me? Don't you even know who I am?" The big black rat got even more excited when it saw him losing ground.

He reached out to his henchman beside him, "Give me the iron rod."

The younger brother bent down and presented the iron rod with both hands as if offering it up, a sight that made Chu Wuyan narrow his eyes.

Why does it sound so much like the gangsters from Hong Kong?

The big black rat, smoking a cigarette and swinging an iron rod, swaggered toward Chu Wuyan, squinting his eyes and exhaling smoke. "Two legs, or one leg and one arm, I'll give you a choice."

"Boss is awesome!"

"Boss is the best in the world!"

"The boss should teach him a lesson."

The others acted as the atmosphere-setter, showering the audience with compliments as if they were free.

"Have you made your choice?" The big black rat impatiently spat out its cigarette butt. "Or I can choose for you, how about two legs?"

"Men from the mainland are cowards; they get scared by the smallest things."

Chu Wuyan, who had originally intended to clarify that he was not the adulterer, clenched his fists after hearing what the big black rat said, snatched an iron bar from a man, and rushed forward.

He cursed, "I'll choose your grandpa."

"You bastard, you've really messed with me."

"If I let you see the sun rise the next day, I'll take your surname."

Chu Wuyan was furious. He was already being called an adulterer for no reason, and these rats from Hong Kong were not only swaggering around on his turf, but also insulting mainlanders.
