Lin Xiaoxiao struggled in the apocalypse for over ten years. Just as the end was near, she was unfortunately infected and died during a mission.
After death, her soul arrived in the underworl...
"Old Qin, look at her." Yao Huixian looked at Qin Jinye with a wronged expression.
Her eyes reddened, and she began her performance, "I'm not his biological mother after all. It's one thing that Yu Shen isn't close to me, but I even paid for his wife. I put in money and effort, and in the end, I don't even get respect. I... I'm heartbroken."
Yao Huixian has a plain appearance, but she is quite pretty. When she acts coy, she gives off a kind of middle-aged innocent vibe.
Qin Jinye usually falls for her act the most.
Seeing her aggrieved look, his heart softened, but at the same time, he became increasingly dissatisfied with Lin Xiaoxiao and Qin Yushen.
He reached out and patted Yao Huixian on the shoulder. It wasn't appropriate to comfort her too much in public, so he turned to Lin Xiaoxiao and put on the airs of an elder, saying, "You have no manners at all. Hurry up and apologize to your mother-in-law."
"Don't even think about it." Lin Xiaoxiao made an X. "Who does she think she is? My mother-in-law is right here."
As he spoke, he pointed to He Meng, who was standing next to Zhao Weiguo.
He Meng straightened her chest and took a step forward, "That's right, Yao Huixian, you shameless bitch, all your children are dead? You're rushing to acknowledge a son and become someone else's mother-in-law."
After berating Yao Huixian, he turned his gun on Qin Jinye.
"And you, Qin Jinye, your eyes are all smeared with shit. You're the only one who treats that ugly woman Yao Huixian like a treasure."
"You say my daughter-in-law is ill-mannered? You're much more well-mannered than anyone else. You're just an illegitimate child. Who taught you to be so well-mannered?"
When facing Qin Jinye and Yao Huixian, He Meng, who used to pretend to be a noblewoman, transformed into a country bumpkin, showing no restraint about excrement and urine.
This was the first time Zhao Weiguo had ever seen her so...rude, and his eyes widened in surprise.
"He Meng, you damned woman..." Being called an illegitimate child hit Qin Jinye's sore spot. His eyes darkened, and he stared intently at He Meng. If Zhao Weiguo hadn't been there, he would have slapped her long ago.
Yao Huixian, who was cursed that her son was dead, was initially angry, but then she thought of something and said smugly, "My children are doing well. But Comrade He, your son is probably going to die."
He Meng couldn't stand Yao Huixian's arrogant and smug attitude. Taking advantage of Yao Huixian's excuse that her son was going to die, she rushed up and grabbed Yao Huixian's face.
"I'll tear your filthy skin off."
Yao Huixian was not one to be trifled with either, and she grabbed her hair with her other hand, "Aren't you shameless? If you weren't shameless, would you have found a man twenty years older than you to be the stepmother of a stepson who is several years younger than you?"
Zhao Weiguo, who was about to step forward to break up the fight, suddenly turned pale.
He Meng retorted, "So what if my husband, Lao Zhao, is twenty years older than me? He's healthy and well-endowed, and he takes good care of me. What about you? Qin Jinye is just a pretty face, yet you managed to have two children with him. You must be cheating on him with other men, right?"
Smiles can shift, and so can anger.
Zhao Weiguo's face darkened, and he gave Qin Jinye a meaningful look.
Compared to having a man's abilities questioned, making a few sarcastic remarks about his age is harmless.
Qin Jinye gritted his teeth. Marrying He Meng was truly the most regrettable thing he had ever done in his life.
Holy crap!
Explosive!
Lin Xiaoxiao made her retreat, stepping to the door of the ward. While watching the doctor examine Qin Yushen, she listened intently to the two arguing.
For some reason, Yao Huixian did not refute He Meng's words.
Instead, they said, "No matter what, your son is dying, but my son is perfectly fine."
The words that came out of He Meng's mouth were, "I don't only have one son."
The entire room fell silent.
Lin Xiaoxiao looked away. Dogs fighting, it's all messy, and nobody gets away with it.
She was too lazy to argue with Qin Jinye and Yao Huixian, so she pushed He Meng out to fight.
On the surface, He Meng was standing up for her daughter-in-law, but in reality, she had long disliked Yao Huixian and was just making an excuse.
And Qin Jinye, who has been here for so long, hasn't even thought of glancing at Qin Yushen.
Two stepfathers, two stepmothers.
"Stop it, all of you." Qin Jinye said with a stern face, shoving He Meng aside and pulling Yao Huixian back.
There were many family members watching the commotion. Qin Jinye, who was always a respectable person, found it hard to bear these strange looks. They made him feel like he was covered in fleas and extremely uncomfortable.
He Meng was caught off guard and fell backward, but Zhao Weiguo caught her with lightning speed.
"You bastard Qin Jinye, how dare you push me?" He Meng rolled up her sleeves, rushed forward, and slapped Qin Jinye.
"Hiss~" Five bloody marks appeared on his face, and Qin Jinye grimaced in pain. "You crazy woman."
Yao Huixian naturally wouldn't stand idly by when her man was beaten.
He stepped forward to slap He Meng, but Zhao Weiguo pulled her back, thus saving her from the slap.
The farce among the four provided plenty of entertainment for the others.
In the hospital ward.
Six highly authoritative military doctors surrounded Qin Yushen's hospital bed, looking at the data and test results on the machine, their bewilderment and confusion evident on their faces.
"This shouldn't be happening, absolutely not," the most senior military doctor murmured, shaking his head.
He touched Qin Yushen's arm, and it was so hot it was burning hot, his body temperature was almost sixty.
At such temperatures, the human body's enzyme system would be disrupted, and organs would rapidly fail.
According to their examination, although Qin Yushen had stopped breathing and had no heartbeat, his liver, kidneys and other organs were slowly healing.
Despite a body temperature as high as 60 degrees Celsius, the blood vessels did not rupture, and the skin was not burned; it is still slowly recovering.
The other military doctors looked at each other, and at the same time, two words flashed through their minds.
