Sewing Corpses, Suppressing Ghost Disasters

Humans have Three Souls and Seven Spirits, ghosts have Nine Netherworld Obsessions and Five Aggregates of Fire. But from the time I was born, I was missing an Earth Soul.

From a young age, I ...

Chapter 19 Red and White Clash

The vest was lined with down, and the fire started instantly.

I was in so much pain that I was wincing, but I could only grit my teeth and bear it, daring not to take it off.

However, the next second...

The matchmaker's cold voice came from behind.

"My lord, so you've been here all along! I've been looking for you for so long!"

I instinctively turned my head and saw that the heads of the matchmaker and the palace maids were spinning like tops, slowly turning from their backs to their chests.

That gaze was like a tangible ice needle piercing straight at me.

They still found out!

I quickly took off my vest and turned to run, but Granny Xi's withered hand suddenly grabbed my shoulder with astonishing speed.

Those bluish-gray fingernails were digging into my shoulder blades, making me gasp in pain.

"My lord, stop running. Come back with me to fetch your bride."

As she spoke, she pulled me back.

Behind me, a tall, magnificent horse had silently appeared without my noticing.

On the horse's body, many parts of its fur had fallen off, revealing rotting muscle tissue underneath, and in some places, even bare bones were visible.

However, unusually, a bright red flower was hanging on the horse's chest.

The matchmaker was incredibly strong, and no matter how hard I struggled, I couldn't break free.

I knew perfectly well that the distance between me and that horse was getting shorter and shorter.

Once you actually mount that horse, you'll be embarking on a path of no return.

In that critical moment, without thinking, I drew the peach wood sword from my back and slashed it fiercely at the matchmaker's face.

With a 'ding' sound.

Suddenly, a five-colored light shone from the blade of the peach wood sword.

Red, green, blue, and various other colors flashed wildly, hurting people's eyes.

Immediately afterwards, a deafening and extremely cheerful piece of music rang out: "I am a painter, I am skilled at painting, I will paint that new house very beautifully..."

As the music played, the sword hilt vibrated violently like a small electric motor, making my palms go numb and almost causing me to lose my grip.

At the same time, the peach wood sword passed right through the matchmaker's face without any hindrance.

I quickly looked down at the peach wood sword in my hand.

The sword was inscribed with several traditional Chinese characters: "Fun Doll Sword".

Depend on!

Where did the delivery guy get this thing from?

"My lord, stop being naughty. The auspicious time has arrived. Don't keep the bride waiting too long."

The matchmaker stared intently at me.

As she spoke, her grip on my shoulder tightened, and the icy chill seemed to penetrate straight into my bones.

I felt no fear whatsoever, and roared, "Go to hell!"

He then suddenly pulled out a three-edged bone needle that he carried with him for sewing corpses and stabbed it hard into the matchmaker's eyeball.

With a "plop," the three-edged bone needle pierced the matchmaker's eyeball with pinpoint accuracy.

The matchmaker let out a shrill scream, and the hand that was gripping my shoulder loosened.

Taking advantage of the situation, I grabbed the triangular needle and began frantically stabbing the matchmaker's face, with only one thought in my mind—

Since you want my life, then I'll kill you first!

The matchmaker didn't resist; she just stared at me blankly with her one remaining eye, repeating over and over, "Come with me, don't keep the bride waiting."

At this moment, the palace maids carrying lanterns, including Huang Tao and his wife, walked towards me slowly and mechanically, like puppets on strings.

His mouth opened and closed, but his voice was devoid of any emotion, cold and mechanical.

"My lord, enter the bridal chamber. The bride is waiting for her husband."

The tone was eerie and monotonous, as if it were a death warrant from the underworld.

"Wait for your dad!"

I kicked the matchmaker hard in the stomach, then turned and ran.

Behind them, the matchmaker's shrill voice still rang out: "Prince consort, hurry up and come with me, don't keep the bride waiting."

I didn't dare look back, and recklessly ran downstairs and onto the street.

As for Huang Tao and his wife, whether they live or die is up to fate; I have no ability to save them.

However, the matchmaker came for me, so she probably won't kill them.

It was only a little past one in the morning, but the surroundings were shrouded in deathly silence.

The shops lining the streets, which should have been bustling with activity, were now completely dark.

Only the large red lanterns hanging at the entrance emitted an eerie glow, casting flickering light on the surrounding mist.

Wisps of white mist seeped out from the corners of the streets and alleys, slowly spreading and enveloping the entire street in a hazy and eerie atmosphere.

There are no skyscrapers, no traffic lights, only ancient buildings.

The roadside green belts have been transformed into endless dirt roads.

This is definitely not the familiar street I remember.

I clearly remember that when I came here, there was a hair salon with a red light on at the entrance of the alley.

There were several tall, sexy young women sitting inside.

But the hair salon had long since disappeared, replaced by a steamed bun shop.

The owner of the steamed bun shop had a deathly pale face and empty, lifeless eyes. He stood in front of the steamer wearing a coarse, earthy-yellow linen shirt, mechanically wrapping steamed buns.

I wanted to stop and take a good look at where I was, but my feet seemed to be out of my control, just moving mechanically.

Behind them, the matchmaker followed closely, unhurriedly.

"My lord, if you're tired from running, hurry up and get on your horse and come back with me to fetch your bride. Don't be late."

I didn't turn around, but I could clearly sense the wedding procession following me like a shadow.

I don't know how long I ran, but just when I was about to run out of energy, a white soul-guiding banner suddenly appeared in front of me, faintly visible in the mist, exuding endless desolation and eeriness.
