Chapter Sixty-Eight: An Unexpected Incident

Ning Zhiheng quickly returned to the Military Intelligence Department and went to Wei Liangbi's office next door to look for him, but no one was there.

Back in his office, he asked Wang Shucheng, who said he had gone to the interrogation department to supervise the interrogation process.

Ning Zhiheng suddenly remembered something: when he searched Xie Ziming's residence last night, he had hurriedly put a stack of white papers in a document bag into a drawer and hadn't had time to look at them yet!

He quickly opened the drawer and took out the stack of white papers. Yesterday, he vaguely saw a faint mark on the first page and thought it might be valuable.

Adhering to the principle of being cautious and not letting go of any clues, he took a pencil and gently scribbled back and forth on the first page of white paper. After a while, a line of writing slowly appeared on the white paper, but it was all in Japanese, which Ning Zhiheng did not recognize.

However, this also excited him greatly, as it was definitely valuable intelligence. The military intelligence department had many talented people, and there must be someone who was proficient in Japanese and could translate it quickly.

He carefully tucked the blank sheet of paper into his jacket pocket and hurried out to the interrogation department. Wei Liangbi was now in charge of the case, and this matter needed to be reported to him immediately.

Upon arriving at the interrogation room, I saw two intelligence officers guarding the door, preventing anyone else from approaching.

Ning Zhiheng showed his identification. Since the case was being handled by the Action Section, the Intelligence Section personnel had no reason to stop him and let him in.

To Ning Zhiheng's surprise, the entire interrogation room was very quiet. Wei Liangbi, Yu Cheng, and Jiang Wende were sitting behind a table, quietly watching the prisoner opposite them.

At this moment, Shimazu Hiroshi was suspended high in the air. His wounds had been bandaged and treated. Only half of one foot was on the ground; the rest of his body, including his hands and one foot, was suspended by ropes. In particular, several barbs, not long, were attached to his chin and groin.

Sharp barbs had pierced his chin and genitals. To intensify his pain, the barbs had been coated with saline and alcohol.

This posture is extremely strange. Only half of his foot bears the weight, and if the half of his foot relaxes even slightly, it will drop downwards, and the barbs on his chin and genitals will dig in tightly. The more he struggles, the more painful it becomes, and the more muscles the barbs pull on.

The intense pain from the salt water and alcohol forced him to put all his strength into the sole of his foot.

However, standing for long periods of time with only half of his foot supporting his entire weight was too much for his leg muscles to handle.

The inside of the chin and the genitals are both extremely sensitive parts of the body to pain. Whenever his leg muscles could no longer support his body as he fell, the barbs would embed themselves deeply into his chin and genitals, causing intense pain. The more he struggled, the more painful it became. This prolonged torment was simply unbearable, causing him unbearable agony!

The prisoner didn't even dare to open his mouth to wail. As soon as he opened his mouth, his neck muscles would be pulled even more, and the intense pain would make his wailing stop halfway through.

Only when he could no longer endure it would the interrogators remove him and put weight on one foot, then this painful process would continue in a cycle. Each time the foot was switched, the prisoner desperately craved that feeling of relief, and facing a new round of torment only intensified the pain; each time was a test of the limits of human endurance!

This form of torture, also known as "carrying a sedan chair," is an extremely cruel method of interrogation. Because the barbs are thin and short, the wound is very small, and the barbs are coated with alcohol and saline solution for disinfection, which both increases the prisoner's pain and effectively prevents bacterial infection.

This minimizes the chances of harming the prisoner's life, much like slowly tormenting a hawk. Every moment puts the prisoner in extreme agony.

The length of time a prisoner can endure an interrogation depends entirely on his physical strength and willpower. It must be said that this interrogation method is far more sophisticated than Ning Zhiheng's approach.

However, the drawback is that it is not as drastic as Ning Zhiheng's approach. If the prisoner is physically strong and has a strong will, he can persist for a considerable period of time.

But if Ning Zhiheng were to choose, he would not choose this kind of punishment. He would not care about the life or death of the prisoners, he would only demand a confession in the shortest possible time!

Upon seeing Ning Zhiheng enter, Wei Liangbi stood up and waved to him, not allowing him to speak. Then, the two left the interrogation room and went to a secluded place.

Wei Liangbi took out a cigarette and lit one for himself. He knew Ning Zhiheng didn't smoke, so he didn't let him. Staying in an interrogation room for too long would make him feel very depressed!

"How's the interrogation going?" Lin Zhiheng asked. "Have you gotten any information out of them?"

Wei Liangbi shook his head and said, "Yu Cheng is afraid of killing the prisoner, so he wants to slowly wear him down. This Xie Ziming has been wearing down the prisoner for more than ten hours from yesterday to this morning. He's a really stubborn guy."

He must be a highly trained veteran agent, someone who has definitely received specialized training in resisting interrogation.

It is said that the Japanese intelligence agencies now have special training to resist interrogation. The principle may be to put the prisoners into a state of self-hypnosis, minimizing the pain, so as to resist torture.

Of course, whether this kind of self-hypnosis is reliable or not, nobody knows! At least there is no such course in the Military Intelligence Department's training section.

Ning Zhiheng frowned and said, "At this rate of torture, when will we get a confession? The interrogation intensity is still too low. Time waits for no one, we can't afford not to use harsher methods! Once the Special Higher Police headquarters reacts, the other accomplices will be in danger of being exposed!"
