Gentle, rational, and inwardly strong gong (Jiang Xu) vs. genius, madman, emotionally stunted shou (Gu Li).
Jiang Xu was reborn, and coincidentally, the person he was reborn as was also named...
Gu Li was unhappy but not worried about Jiang Xu because he knew clearly what kind of person his father was.
Even if that incident caused a huge uproar back then, he could only control himself, and only himself.
However, Gu Li felt indifferent, genuinely indifferent.
Anyway, that's all the tricks he has. He'd already seen them all during the year he took a leave of absence from school.
Gu Li's thoughts drifted, sometimes wondering what she would wear tomorrow, sometimes what Jiang Xu might wear, and sometimes the white and red necklace.
Finally, I thought of the warm jade that I had given away.
His thoughts drifted further and further away, but he finally thought that he wouldn't have given it to the wrong person.
As night fell, they both fell asleep.
When the morning sun rises, tomorrow arrives.
Jiang Xu arrived at the gym a little earlier than the agreed time. After thinking for a moment, he went to the convenience store to buy some water and sugar.
On the tree-lined path of the campus, a leaf fell and landed behind the running red-haired youth, the leaf swirling in the breeze.
Gu Li's clothes were blown by the wind, stirring up the young man's excitement, before he was stopped halfway.
"Gu Li!"
Gu Li was already familiar with this voice; it was the same one that Jiang Xu used to hear when he went to check attendance each week. Gu Li's good mood stopped as soon as her clothes stopped.
He suppressed his irritation, turned his head to look at the source of the sound, and then, as if suddenly realizing something, said, "Oh," Gu Li's voice was indifferent, "It's you. What are you doing here?"
Zhao Rangwen held the flyer directly in his hand, making no attempt to hide it, and smiled confidently, "I'm working to earn money, and I'll earn even more in this kind of weather." He then looked at Gu Li with a hint of embarrassment, "But what are you in such a hurry to do?"
Gu Li, "Am I in a hurry?" He pretended not to understand. "I'm not in a hurry. It's just too hot. I don't want to get sunburned."
Zhao Rangwen said, "Let's go over there. It'll be shaded that day, so it won't be so hot." He pointed to the spot where he had been standing.
Gu Li followed her gaze and asked, "Were you standing there before?"
Zhao Rangwen nodded, "Yes, if you're not busy, how about we chat? We haven't finished talking about yesterday's topic yet." He wanted to talk to Gu Li more.
Gu Li didn't want to talk about it. He couldn't remember what the topic was last time, nor did he want to discuss anything else.
Also, Jiang Xu is likely waiting for me. "I'm not busy, but..."
Gu Li tilted his head and thought for a moment. He was just about to brush the person off when he heard the voice of the person he wanted to see.
"Gu Li," Jiang Xu said as he came out of the convenience store with his purchases. He saw Zhao Rangwen smiling and talking to Gu Li, pointing to a shady spot. He thought to himself, "This is clearly an attempt to steal her away from me." "Why are you sunbathing here? Aren't you hot?"
Gu Li looked at Jiang Xu, his hidden irritation now well soothed. "I ran into a classmate," he said, glancing at Zhao Rangwen before turning back with a laugh in his voice, "Didn't I tell you to wait for me? Can't you even wait this long?"
Jiang Xu accompanied Gu Li in the performance, saying, "We can't wait, especially since we're afraid someone might try to steal the show halfway through." He gave Zhao Rangwen a cold look.
Gu Li hooked his arm around Jiang Xu's shoulder in a very intimate manner. "It's so hot outside, let's go turn on the air conditioning. And..." He lowered his voice, clearly saying something he didn't want anyone to hear.
Zhao Rangwen watched the two figures leave. Before they had gone far, he clenched the flyer in his hand. But the next moment, he was glad that he had composed himself.
They didn't openly show their jealousy because Gu Li turned around.
While talking to someone, Gu Li glanced back at Zhao Rangwen, raised an eyebrow at him, and then tapped Jiang Xu's shoulder twice with her finger.
Zhao Rangwen was stunned at first, then as if he had thought of something, he began to struggle again.
Gu Li's movements were very deliberate. Jiang Xu looked ahead and controlled his voice so that only the two of them could hear, "You're probably afraid he won't understand what you mean by those two moves."
Gu Li loosened his grip and lightly placed his hand on Jiang Xu's shoulder. "Not everyone is as understanding as you. Shouldn't I have given you more hints?" He sighed after saying that. "I was too timid. Did I use the wrong approach? What if I really just gave him a warning and that was it?"
Jiang Xu said, “How could that be? I clearly remember Professor Gu’s theory of love. It was profound and convincing.” He spoke in a relaxed tone, “Don’t doubt yourself. I wouldn’t trust the wrong person.”
Gu Li clicked his tongue lightly, "Since you've said that, how could I doubt myself? But," he steered the conversation away from the uninteresting topic, "if you do doubt yourself later, I'll comfort you."
Jiang Xu replied arrogantly, "Don't worry, I believe you can recover on your own if you doubt yourself again. I won't comfort you anymore."
Gu Li: "There won't be that kind of opportunity."
Once the two were out of Zhao Rangwen's sight in the elevator, Gu Li removed her hand from Jiang Xu's and asked, "What did you buy?"
Jiang Xu moved the plastic bag between the two of them, then took out a piece of chocolate and handed it to Gu Li, saying, "I'm afraid some people will feel dizzy. After all, it's been a while since you've exercised. Don't say I'm bullying you."
Gu Li took it. "That's so thoughtful of you, but I've been resting a lot lately, I'm in great shape." Although he said that, he still opened the chocolate wrapper and broke off a piece through the wrapper. "I'll give you the best piece, here you go."
Jiang Xu watched Gu Li's actions. The chocolate, half-wrapped in its packaging, was brought to his mouth. He opened his mouth to take a bite, but Gu Li pulled away.
As the chocolate melted in his mouth, Jiang Xu thought it was indeed quite delicious. Perhaps the first piece he had ever eaten before wasn't truly his first.
He turned his head to look at Gu Li, who was breaking pieces of chocolate one by one. After breaking them all, he ate one piece, his cheeks puffing out slightly. His hand traced the outline of the chocolate piece through the packaging.
Jiang Xu felt that Gu Li was indeed a bit childish, but not in a joking way; rather, it was a more natural and pure expression of her personality. He wondered if Gu Li still wanted to play around with her.
"No need, I have enough." Gu Li mumbled as she ate the chocolate.
Upon hearing this, Jiang Xu thought to himself, "Did I just ask the question?" He replied, "Okay, I'll keep the rest for you later."
Gu Li, "You bribed me in advance, didn't you? What should I do? Should I be weak-willed or strong-willed?" He tilted his head at Jiang Xu, "What do you think?"
Jiang Xu said, "What I'm saying is that you should be weak when you need to be weak, and strong when you need to be strong. So, it all depends on you."
Gu Li said, "Then I'll try a different approach," as he smiled at Jiang Xu, "I'll bribe you too."
Jiang Xu looked at the chocolate that had reappeared in his mouth. "You're trying to bribe me with just one piece?" The sweet aroma still lingered in his mouth, and his nasal cavity was now filled with sweetness as well.
He didn't dislike the sweetness at all.
