Before dying, Qian Yuan was chosen by a system to攻略 (strategy/guide) others to gain emotional value. However, tormented by illness, he didn't want to get involved and just wanted to slack o...
Before they could pull out guns and point them at their former benefactor, the raccoon shook its fur, sending all the guys flying and cleaning them up.
This actually made things easier for Long Qian.
Long Qian lowered his eyes and exchanged a thoughtful glance with the raccoon.
The main system remained remarkably calm in front of Long Qian, showing no sign of panic, because it knew that even if Long Qian sensed something amiss, he wouldn't dismantle it.
He is closely connected with the cubs.
Long Qian treats everything concerning the cubs with utmost care.
The cub had no idea what was happening. He simply looked up and saw that all the uncles and aunts from before had disappeared.
The child looked at his father, and Long Qian casually made up an excuse to brush the child off:
"They thought riding the catcart was too slow, so they went for a run instead."
"Daddy and baby aren't going. Daddy is tired and wants to rest."
When the cub heard its father say it was tired, it immediately forgot about everyone else and busied itself getting Long Qian to lie down and sleep.
Seeing that his father didn't have a pillow to support his head, the toddler reluctantly gave his own plush toy to his father. But after a while, the toddler noticed that his father didn't have a blanket to cover his belly.
So the cub thought for a moment, then came to Long Qian, and plopped down, covering its father's belly with its soft body.
Watching the little guy wrap himself around him with all four limbs and press his face against his belly, Long Qian couldn't help but sigh again that this cub was naturally clingy.
But no matter how straight a guy is, he still falls for cuteness and clinginess.
Long Qian said that the cub was clingy, but in reality, he held the cub very tightly.
The little boy pressed his face against his father's chest, tapped him with his hand, and asked in a muffled voice:
"Is the blanket warm enough for the baby?"
Long Qian then realized that the little guy wasn't being clingy; he just wanted to be his little darling.
But these days, no matter how much you cover the zombie cubs, they're always cold.
Long Qian didn't care at all, and he wouldn't expose the matter. He held the cub's tiny hand in his own.
"Yes, it's very warm, even Dad's hands are warm."
"The baby is warmest when covered with a blanket."
The cub stayed close to Long Qian the whole time, being so obedient it was almost annoying.
So well-behaved...
Long Qian even wished he wasn't so obedient, that he could be a little more coquettish with his father, make all sorts of willful demands, vent his emotions on his father, and tell him about his grievances.
Instead of carrying him all the way, almost making Long Qian feel like he was floating on air.
Long Qian certainly didn't actually let the child sleep on the cat's back. The cat was clearly related to the kitten, but Long Qian was not the kind of person who would rely on others for everything. In his eyes, no one was reliable; he only ever trusted himself.
And his children.
So Long Qian remained in a state of feigned sleep, secretly observing the movements of those he had kicked out of the team.
Unfortunately, all of these people are incompetent fools.
Without Long Qian, it seems they don't even know how to fight anymore.
Long Qian frowned. Although his mental control was like a strategist's command, enabling his companions to charge blindly, as the main force of the shelter, he shouldn't be so weak and incompetent.
It seems these guys have already let their guard down. They're both afraid of Long Qian and want to benefit from his success.
Fortunately, these cancerous growths were driven out, otherwise who knows what kind of trouble they would have caused in the future.
Long Qian touched the cub's face thoughtfully.
He now unconsciously touches the cub in his arms. The cub feels wonderful, warm and cool to the touch, and bouncy like a little pinch. Anyone who can resist touching it is not a normal person.
However, Long Qian cannot completely treat his child as a toy to be manipulated.
When he belatedly withdrew his hand, the little one's cheek, which he had just rubbed red, was now symmetrically red on both sides.
The baby almost had all the milk that Long Qian had just drunk squeezed out of him.
Long Qian awkwardly withdrew his hand.
But I also think that such a little guy is very cute.
Long Qian still remembers things from when Qian Yuan was even younger.
It cried even more than it does now, and could only call out "Daddy, Daddy." Its bones were still soft, small and fragile, and Long Qian felt that he could crush the little guy with a gentle pinch.
But he still managed to raise the cubs a little better, albeit clumsily.
Until he abandoned the cubs...
Long Qian touched the cub's back; its tiny heart had stopped beating. It would no longer live for its father, nor would it ever grow up.
But it doesn't matter. Long Qian will live for the cubs from now on, and the entire southern shelter will be the cubs' strongest support.
Along the way, Long Qian collected supplies and gathered intelligence, circling around B City before finally returning to the newly built shelter.
With the raccoon dog as their mode of transport, their journey was significantly faster, and they returned much earlier than planned.
To his surprise, some people had arrived outside the city even earlier than them.
Those were the people Long Qian abandoned on the road.
Their team had been reduced by more than half, and the remaining members were in no good shape, all looking disheveled.
When they saw Long Qianquan, with his beard and tail intact, gracefully dismount from the cat's back, their eyes turned red with anger.
They shouted towards the refuge city:
"Our leader has abandoned us and is siding with the zombies! He's abandoned us, his comrades who have shared life and death with him, for a zombie! Now he's even bringing the zombie into the city! You must stop him!"
"He is no longer fit to be the leader! Tell the deputy leader to remove him from the leadership!!"
Long Qian found the hateful looks on those people's faces amusing.
Their commotion outside the door naturally attracted the attention of the people inside the shelter.
Upon hearing this, several tall, dashing figures appeared behind the protective door. There were both men and women, and their demeanor was quite similar to Long Qian's.
They're all outlaws; they were all in the same mercenary army years ago.
They glanced at Long Qian first, and seeing that he was alright, they then looked at the few reckless guys with amusement.
They didn't dare to provoke this King of Hell, but these ordinary people had the guts to ride on Long Qian's head and yell at him.
"Ugh, the thought of seeing another bloody scene makes me feel bored."
One of the men said with a grin, "The leader just kills people and zombies all day long. He has no energy at all. It's so boring."
Another beautiful woman replied, "Shut up. If the leader could change his nature, the sky would collapse."
They were discussing who should be assigned to clean up the mess and wipe out the horde of zombies that had been attracted to the city gate once it was stained with blood.
Just when they were getting so bored that they started playing rock-paper-scissors, the troublemakers realized that these guys were all a bunch of snakes and rats and wouldn't pay any attention to anyone!
"Damn it! You treacherous liar! I'll kill you!"
The troublemaker was driven to despair by being ignored, and he turned his anger back on Long Qian, intending to take Long Qian down with him even if he died!
