In a world of pure martial arts, Yun Shou initially believed he could only live an ordinary life with the weak cheat he possessed.
That was until the age of fourteen, when he obtained a secon...
Yun Shou thought to himself, "Before the appearance of the Dao Lord of Proportion, probably no one knew that the Boundless Void Sea was constantly expanding outwards. And before the Dao Lord of the Past traveled back in time, they would have had difficulty figuring out the magnification rate of the Boundless Void Sea..."
"Even if they found out later, they had already become Dao Lords by then, and their only chance to use their power without any cost had already been used up. It was too late!"
Upon realizing this, Yun Shou's lips involuntarily parted into a wide grin, so much so that Xu Ling'er, standing beside him, felt a little uneasy, wondering why her master was behaving in such an exaggerated manner.
Because it wasn't too late for Yun Shou to find out.
Having the essential authority, he knew all of this before he wasted that opportunity.
What this means... is self-evident!
True transcendence, absolute detachment, is the supreme state that has no end!
The Dao Lord has limited power.
But he is limitless.
[The Fourth and Fifth Dao Lords: The siblings Matter and Energy squandered that opportunity quite thoroughly. When they broke through one after the other, they were hunted down by hundreds of trillions of Universe Lords who had gathered nearby.]
[I won't go into the details of how they hunted him down, but basically, his special abilities attracted unwanted attention, and the news spread like wildfire.]
[Faced with those fully-fledged Universe Lords, they wouldn't even need to use their unlimited opportunity, let alone unleash their authority; simply using their normally held authority would be enough to annihilate them.]
Even without relinquishing their authority, the Dao Lord can still wield it to unleash extremely terrifying power.
[Liberating authority... simply means using power that exceeds one's capacity and requires paying the price of "aligning with Heaven." Within one's capacity, the Dao Lord can freely use authority without having to pay a price!]
Yun Shou: "Understood."
He silently divided the universe into five major levels based on the standard of a fully-fledged cosmic lord.
One Strike to Unite the Heavens Dao Lord > Released Authority Dao Lord > Normally Holding Authority Dao Lord > Assigned Authority Dao Lord > Complete Universe Lord
Dao Lords don't need to worry about He Tian, because the power unleashed by the limited authority they hold is not enough to overwhelm them!
[The siblings didn't even need to use their normal authority. After they became Dao Lords, the upper limit of the Boundless Sea of Void increased. The siblings broke through together at the perfect time, raising the level cap from 9 billion to 15 billion.]
Although neither of them had comprehended the Dao principles within the other's authority, and they were merely Resonance True Immortals at the 12 billion level, their pursuers had all been downgraded to 9 billion level Resonance True Immortals—a difference of a full billion times in numerical terms!
Faced with attackers a billion times weaker than themselves, the siblings used their once-omnipotent opportunity to swiftly and decisively annihilate them.
Yun Shou: "It was even more wasteful than the time with the Void Saint."
However, the siblings didn't regret it much later, because they were already invincible after acquiring power, so there was no need to pursue unlimited strength.
[The sixth Dao Lord, Wan Hua, after advancing to the next level, decided to bestow upon every person who had not yet become an immortal a benefit called "Sacred Body."]
He envisioned that "every living being, before achieving immortality, would possess the additional benefit of a sacred body, along with various transformative abilities, and so on."
[His initial intention was to encompass every living being and to extend the timeframe to eternity, so this blessing spread throughout the boundless void, including to the newborns that followed.]
"Thanks to WanHua Open Source."
"...Fortunately, fate did not foresee this."
"These omnipotent authorities have far too many loopholes to exploit..."
[The Daoist Master envisioned opening gates connecting all the heavens and myriad worlds at regular intervals. These gates would permeate every segment of space and be simple and easy to use... Thus, the Void Gates came into being.]
"Thanks to the open source of Proportion (although the Daoist monopoly of the Origin Land was later born), I will no longer call you Proportion."
[The transformation of the myriad forms increased the rate of ascension to immortality, and the ratio connected all the heavens and myriad realms. The first thing these two did after becoming Dao Lords was to benefit all living beings, which can be considered quite noble. It would not be an exaggeration to call them saints.]
But just as the Void had feared, they both later decayed.
"Alas, myriad transformations; alas, Billy."
[After arriving at the Origin Land, Destiny chose to close off the ability to sense some of the Dao principles and had its colleagues establish True Ranks with it. They wanted to be supreme masters, requiring everyone to pay homage to them in order to be qualified to complete all the Dao principles and become a fully realized Universe Lord.]
[It wasn't just about the worship of all spirits; there was another reason they all unanimously suppressed in their hearts: to force those who held power to enter the Land of Origin, exposing them to their very noses, and then... those who know, know.]
"However, you didn't catch a single one of them."
"Hmm... not necessarily. Perhaps more than one of those power holders who came after them has died. But no one has ever been completely stripped of their power. With each generation, someone eventually breaks through the blockade."
The former Dao Lord used that opportunity to create a one-to-one replica of a timeline that existed in the past. He possessed a boundless void sea that was entirely his own and was still expanding infinitely.
He could even do whatever he wanted in that past timeline to alter the "present."
[However, the concepts he conceived when he used his authority were not as "deep" as the current Dao Lord's concepts. His imagination couldn't compete with the other's, resulting in him being at a disadvantage and completely suppressed at the conceptual level.]
