Singing for My Life, the Entire Internet Collapses Crying and Begs Me Not to Die

At just eighteen years old, Wen He is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. A system appears and binds itself to him.

Even though he was born into a cold and harsh family, and even though he i...

Chapter 21 The Future is Full of Hope

"Cough cough... cough cough cough..."

Upon returning home, Wen He immediately threw herself into housework.

While he was working on this, Wen's father came over and said, "Have you been doing anything strange online lately?"

"What strange thing...?" Wen He wondered.

"I've been getting a lot of scam calls lately, saying they want to do business with you or something."

Upon hearing this, Wen He immediately realized that they might have found his phone number through Douyin's official channels and wanted to establish a cooperative relationship with him.

Little did they know that the Douyin account used all of Wen's father's information, including his ID card, phone number, and bank card details.

The money earned through live streaming was all withdrawn to Wen's father's bank card.

However, the withdrawal date has not yet arrived, and Mr. Wen is unaware of this.

"It's probably just a data leak, don't worry about it," Wen He explained.

"Of course I won't pay attention to those scammers. But you, don't do anything messy online, especially those loan ads. Don't even touch them. If I find out, I'll break your legs!" Mr. Wen warned sternly.

"Um…"

Wen Ze, who was in the living room, had already started practicing his vocalizations for singing.

It looks like she's enrolled in the extracurricular classes, and her efficiency is as high as ever.

Perhaps finding such simple practice a bit boring, he started looking for something on television...

A moment later, the extremely familiar prelude made Wen He tremble slightly.

"He deliberately went out at night with a candle."

"The midnight stars are like friends on the go."

I love every scabbed wound I have~

"A aged spirit made from fermented liquor."

Wen Ze sang along with the music in the video.

Fortunately, this is not Wen He's original version, but a cover version from Douyin.

His unique smoky voice adds a touch of melancholy to the song.

Wen Ze seemed particularly fascinated by this profound feeling.

Even though his voice hadn't started to change yet, and his singing voice sounded as young as a little girl's, he still tried his best to keep his voice down.

This makes his singing sound particularly strange, to say the least, extremely unpleasant.

"It's fairly palatable once you swallow it."

"Why do tears still occasionally slip up?"

"I invite you to examine the void in your heart."

"Gentleness remains within the cracks."

The sounds from the television also piqued the interest of Wen's father and mother.

"This song is great!" Mr. Wen exclaimed.

"Of course! This song is called 'The World's Beauty Is Intertwined with You,' and it's been really popular lately. Lots of people in our school are singing it. If you can master the song, you'll definitely be able to recruit a bunch of followers!" Wen Ze seemed to have already imagined that scene.

This cover with that throaty voice is indeed good, but the downside is that the deliberate somberness and vicissitudes cause it to lose its sense of redemption and warmth during the climax.

It has a superficial feel to it, lacking any inner core.

Even if it's just a pretty face, it's enough to make this cover song a minor hit.

After finishing her chores, Wen He returned to her room.

Upon closer reflection, there's really no need to worry about whether they'll find out.

Even if they find out, they will only think that this is a big internet celebrity with the same name as Wen He, and has nothing to do with their son.

Because in their hearts, Wen He was always a worthless piece of trash.

Her only role was to act as a nanny and, incidentally, earn some money in the factory.

It's alright though...

Wen He didn't care about them.

The thought of going to see Cheng Yudie tomorrow filled him with hope for the future.

With longing for a better future, Wenhe fell asleep.

…………

…………

The next day, Wen He woke up earlier than usual.

Perhaps it was because there was hope that the sunlight was no longer glaring, but rather exceptionally warm and peaceful.

Taking advantage of a little time, Wen He sang a new song on her phone and posted it on Douyin (TikTok).

This move immediately caused a huge uproar on the internet!

[Wen He! My God! She's finally released a new song!]

[Hopefully today's song will be a healing anthem, not a depressing one. I don't want to start the day in tears!]

[Wen He, please stop singing depressing songs. Just hearing the intro to "Under the Sea" gives me a suffocating feeling; it's so despairing. I never want to experience it again.]

Seriously, that song is like a curse. I cry as soon as I hear it, and the worst part is that it's incredibly good. I can't stop listening to it, it makes me feel like a masochist, I cry for as long as I listen to it.

[Please, Wen He, stop with your magic! Please stop playing those depressing songs, they're too suffocating and painful. I still prefer your gentler side.]

Tens of thousands of people poured in almost instantly.

It's like everyone lives inside TikTok.

In the video posted by Wen He, there are mountains in the distance and a lake nearby.

The sky was bright and sunny, with fluffy white clouds drifting in the wind.

Birdsong can be heard in the background.

The video title is still just a brief three words.

Towards the Clouds

(To the Clouds - Xiaoxia/OceanBo)

As the prelude began, coupled with the beautiful scene before them, everyone's hearts immediately calmed down.

[Wen He is simply a true healer; she hasn't even started singing yet, but the intro alone is absolutely amazing, instantly washing away all the resentment I felt at 8 AM.]

[This flavor is just right, this is the style of Wenhe, so comforting. As I get older, this is what I crave.]

[Old man, instead of going out for a proper stroll and basking in the sun, you're stuck here basking in cyber sun, huh?]

As soon as this intro started, I felt the lividity on my body fade considerably.
