Chapter 22 The Generous Roommate

Located on the coast, Zhonghai City experiences four distinct seasons and is a well-known financial center in China.

In late August, Zhonghai City is cool in the mornings and evenings, but the midday heat still lingers.

Zhonghai University is a prestigious university in Zhonghai City and one of the first batch of high-level local universities in China.

Kui Kui dragged his suitcase along the tree-lined avenue of Zhonghai University.

The cicadas chirped incessantly in the trees, and the dappled shadows of the trees spread across her body, resembling black and white striped snakes.

Kui Kui was admitted to the Archaeology major at Zhonghai University. After completing the enrollment registration, she moved into dormitory room 404 in dormitory building 4.

The new campus of Zhonghai University is located in the southern suburbs of Zhonghai City. The dormitory layout is the same: four people per room, with beds on top and desks and wardrobes below.

Kui Kui was the first to arrive at the dormitory.

After a summer vacation, a thin layer of dust had accumulated on the dormitory floor.

She placed her suitcase next to the desk on the right side of the window and asked the dormitory supervisor for cleaning cloths, brooms, and dustpans.

Just as she was about to start cleaning, a girl who was half a head shorter than her and wearing a white dress rushed in.

The two looked at each other for a second, then the girl flashed a bright smile and spoke first: "Hello! My name is Wu Youyou, and we'll be roommates for the next four years!"

"Hello, my name is Kui Kui."

"Youyou, slow down, be careful not to fall."

As they were talking, a woman dressed in a pale yellow suit walked in.

She took off her sunglasses, revealing exquisite makeup and long, wavy hair that was casually draped over her shoulders, making her both elegant and beautiful.

Wu Youyou was somewhat displeased and blamed her mother for making her lose face in front of her new classmates.

He then playfully scolded, "Mom, I'm an adult now, I'm in college, I'm not a child anymore."

As she spoke, she ran to Kui Kui's side and said happily, "Mom, this is my roommate, her name is Kui Kui."

Kui Kui nodded slightly and greeted her with a smile, "Hello, Auntie."

Bai Shuang's eyes lit up; she had never seen such a beautiful girl before.

She has fair skin, large and bright eyes, and a straight nose.

Not only are her facial features outstanding, but her figure is also excellent, with a slender waist that can be easily encircled, and plenty of curves in all the right places.

Bai Shuang smiled and said, "Hello! Youyou, Kuikui, just by hearing your names, you two seem to have a strong connection."

"Kui Kui, why are you alone? Didn't your parents come?"

Kui Ziyu and Yan Shi'an originally intended to come and see them off, but after Kui Ziyu consulted the oracle, their expressions immediately turned sour, and the two of them left the house in a daze.

Kui Kui smiled and said, "They're all quite busy."

Upon hearing this, Bai Shuang's eyes flashed with a hint of pity, and she said, "If there's anything I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask."

Kui Kui nodded obediently and continued making her bed.

Wu Youyou's side was handled by the aunt who came along.

Bai Shuang watched as her daughter idly chatted with Kui Kui, while Kui Kui had already made the bed and packed her luggage, her eyes full of admiration.

At this moment, the other two girls from dormitory 404 also arrived.

Seeing that all her roommates had arrived and her little apartment was ready, Wu Youyou gave them the order to leave.

Seeing Bai Shuang leave with Aunt Wang, she couldn't suppress her smile, raised her hands high, and cheered, "I'm free!"

The girls exchanged smiles, all looking forward to their upcoming university life.

Wu Youyou glanced at her watch and said, "It's getting late, shall we go to the cafeteria for lunch? It's on me!"

Xia Menglu was sitting on the bed, which was next to the door and Wu Youyou's bed.

Her white T-shirt was soaked with sweat and stuck to her back; her once neat short hair was now disheveled and plastered to her scalp.

She already regretted sending her father away too early. Why did the school require blankets to be covered with duvet covers?

Her stubbornness flared up, and she said, "I'm not hungry, you guys go eat!"

"How can that be! Not one of them can be missing, I'll help you!" Wu Youyou rolled up his non-existent sleeves and climbed onto her bed with an air of heroic spirit.

Kui Kui looked at Li Ke'er and said, "Let me help you."

Li Ke'er has a darker complexion, but she wore a yellow floral dress, which made her look somewhat dowdy.

She glanced at Xia Menglu and Wu Youyou across from her, pushed up her glasses, and the reflected light perfectly concealed the fleeting disdain in her eyes. "No need, you go help them!"

Upon hearing this, Kui Kui looked to the other side and then smiled.

Are these two putting on a blanket or fighting?

"I'll do it!"

Xia Menglu and Wu Youyou got out of bed, their gazes towards Kui Kui shifting from shock to admiration.

Xia Menglu's gaze fell upon the black cat and black snake plush keychains on Kui Kui's schoolbag, and she suddenly remembered something.

She took three exquisitely crafted dolls out of a bag on her suitcase and said, "These are for you."

Wu Youyou snatched one of them and said, "My God, isn't this a SD doll from Little Japan?"

"What are SD dolls? Are they expensive?" Li Keren picked one up and asked.

Xia Menglu smiled faintly and said, "It's alright, it's only a few thousand yuan."

Li Ke'er's eyes widened in shock. "So expensive!" she exclaimed.

A few thousand yuan is enough for her family's expenses for a year.

Wu Youyou gently stroked the transparent packaging box and shook her head, saying, "It's not a matter of whether it's expensive or not, it's that you can't buy it. You can't buy it even if you have the money."

She looked up and said, "Menglu, you're so generous! I hereby declare that you and Kuikui are my best friends!"
