Chapter 7

"Be good, and I'll take care of all these clothes. When I take the position of Director of the Supervision Office, do you have anything you want?"

The sarcastic and arrogant voice reached Shi Yu's ears, causing him to feel uncomfortable, as if the voice was surrounding him like a demon. Finally, he sat down on a short stool with a pale face. The clothes in his hands seemed to weigh a thousand pounds, making him unable to lift any strength.

He occupied a corner of the already small locker room. The cramped space and the terrifying voice in his ears made him feel suffocated. His eyes were fixed on the fragile wall that separated him from the voice, as if the other party was about to rush over through the wall and question Shi Yu: Why did you run out?

Just as he was lost in thought, there was a gentle knock on the locker room door. As expected, Shi Yu was startled and shuddered all over. Just as he was about to reach out to lock the door, a cold voice came in, "Are you not changed yet?"

Yun Lin'ai stood outside waiting for too long, and seeing that the closed door showed no sign of opening, he waited there for a while before he couldn't help but knock on the door.

The knock didn't knock Shi Yu out, but it did knock out the two people in the compartment. Yun Lin'ai didn't pay attention at first, but he heard one of them call him, "Lieutenant Yun."

Yun Lin'ai glanced over casually, and understood everything at once. He raised his eyebrows, turned around and naturally blocked the locker room where Shi Yu was.

"Who are you?" Yun Lin'ai had actually seen the other person's photo in the information. He was an inconspicuous clerk in the Supervisory Office and appeared in the column for Shi Yu's family members.

Shi Yeheng didn't show any displeasure when he saw that the other party didn't recognize him. Instead, he changed his expression from the locker room and pulled out a business card from his holder, handing it to Yun Linai with both hands. "My name is Shi Yeheng. It's normal that you don't recognize me. Although we belong to different branches, we work in the same place."

Yun Linai saw through the other person's intentions right away and pretended to read the other person's business card carefully, but in fact he didn't read a single word. "Since we are from different branches, I don't think there is any need for us to get to know each other."

Shi Yeheng stood aside awkwardly, cursing the other person in his heart. If he hadn't seen that the other person was the chairman's son, he would not have come up to say hello.

But for the sake of his future career, he swallowed his breath and pretended to be indifferent, skipping the subject. "Lieutenant Yun is here to buy clothes too? It seems you like to wear fashionable casual clothes in private. I'll buy a few sets and have them delivered to your house when I have time."

Still too young.

Yun Lin'ai looked at the man in front of him who was a few years younger than him but had such deep desires. He looked at him and laughed softly from the back of his nose. "If the children at home like to wear them, just come and get a few pieces. You won't have to bother giving me money and clothes."

Shi Yeheng was stunned for a moment, then realized that this mall also belonged to the Yun family. He immediately felt ashamed, gritted his teeth and smiled apologetically, "It was my negligence. I will definitely come to apologize someday."

Perhaps he was trying to get to the chairman's door, but Yun Lin'ai saw through it but didn't say anything or respond. Instead, he asked in a bad tone, "Anything else?"

Seeing that he couldn't get the other party's address, Shi Yeheng finally gave up and nodded in a friendly gesture, "It's okay, it's okay, please do as you please."

After saying that, he didn't dare to bother the other person anymore. He didn't even pay for the clothes and ran away with the Omega behind him.

Yun Lin'ai saw that both of them had left the store, so he bent his fingers and knocked on the door of the dressing room. "They've gone far away."

Shi Yu heard all the conversations inside. He hesitated to unlock the door, leaving a small gap, and observed the situation outside with his eyes moving like a cat.

Yun Linai looked at his movements with amusement and opened the door completely. "Someone who didn't know would think you had fainted in there."

The little face looked pale, and it seemed that he was very scared.

Shi Yu was still sitting there, holding onto the door handle, unwilling to let go. His palm-sized face stared at him with scrutinizing eyes, "How do you know about his relationship with me?"

Yunlin was tall and broad, and when he stood there he blocked Shi Yu's way in the dressing room. The two of them were standing and the other sitting there, and the clerk didn't know whether to go up or down, so he could only stand away awkwardly and not disturb them.

Yun Linai looked directly into those eyes and said truthfully, "A normal person would check the background of a stranger before entering their home."

Then he jokingly asked, "Or does your family accept everyone who comes?"

Shi Yu couldn't find a word to shut up his mouth that always liked to ask rhetorical questions, so he just huddled there in silence, as if he was being scolded. Yun Lin'ai couldn't stand it any longer and said to the clerk, "He's got all the clothes wrapped up in his hands."

The rescued clerk ran over happily and took away a pile of clothes from Shi Yu under his surprised look.

“I can’t wear that much.”

He hadn't even seen the price, and didn't know how many years it would take to pay it off. He was afraid it wouldn't even be enough to redeem himself.

Yun Lin'ai blocked his way with one arm, signaling him to stand there and not move. Shi Yu could only watch the clerk scan the code, pay, and pack the items. He felt like the sky was falling.

"It doesn't cost me any money."

Shi Yu's fragile self-esteem was shattered. He watched Yun Lin'ai take out a card and hand it to the clerk. He said depressedly, "Didn't I say you don't have to spend any money?"

Yun Lin'ai didn't understand why the other person didn't know anything besides medicine, so he summoned up more patience than he'd had in eight hundred years to explain to him, "If you take it directly, the account won't match, so use a shopping card."

Shi Yu no longer understood Yun Lin'ai and had no desire to explain. The card was swiped anyway and Omega did not try to stop him. He wanted to go back and check the clothing tags to calculate the price, but Yun Lin'ai seemed to know what he was going to do and had the clerk cut the tags early on. None of the items could be returned.

Shi Yu sat on the edge of the bed and threw one of the shirts on the bed angrily. In the end, he had no choice but to take it back and hang it in the closet.

Area 116 was still bitterly cold, with no sign of spring arriving. Shi Yu still had to wear his thick winter clothes, and he became even more reluctant to move. During the day, he hid in the sofa recliner in the guest bedroom, like a hibernating stray cat.

Fortunately, he finally had something to do. That day, Yun Lin'ai took him to the bookstore again. Shi Yu was worried that his voice would disturb others, so he deliberately spoke very quietly, "Do you want to buy a book?"

Yun Lin'ai lowered his head to look at the approaching head, and caught a glimpse of those impatient eyes. They were exactly the same as the look Qin Yue gave him when he applied medicine that day. He almost had the words "hungry" written on his face.

"It will probably take a long time to find an old book. Go and read yours."

As soon as Yun Lin'ai finished speaking, Shi Yu left quickly, saying "I hope you find it soon." He only had time to see a flash of his back.

......

I was probably hoping that he wouldn't go back for the whole afternoon.

So for an hour, Yun Lin'ai stood near the entrance of the bookstore, casually flipping through an entire book "Foundations of Economics", then went to the medical book area to catch people, and before leaving, he took a book from the shelf.

The bookstore is very large, with various corners. Yun Lin'ai couldn't find anyone for a while. He walked past the shoulder-high bookcases that filled an entire bookshelf with best-selling books. He looked past the paid coffee shop with only a few people there, and scanned the signs one by one, and found Shi Yu in a ventilated corner.

Surrounded by the murmurs of the shop assistants and the beeping of the radio scanning barcodes, Shi Yu squatted next to the display cabinet with a five-centimeter-thick medical book spread out in front of him. There was a half-open window next to him. The cold wind made his face hurt, but he remained indifferent.

Yun Lin'ai observed for a while nearby and realized that only this fool was willing to read in this corner with the lowest temperature.

As soon as Yun Lin'ai walked in, he cast a large shadow on Shi Yu's book, but he didn't notice it at all. He continued to squat there, holding his knees with one hand and supporting the book with the other hand, reading.

It was hard to break such a scene, but Yun Lin'ai bent a hand and tapped Shi Yu on the top of his head. Shi Yu, slow to react, raised his head curiously. His eyes changed from the doubt in the book to urgency after seeing Yun Lin'ai. Without thinking, he grabbed Shi Yu's trouser leg and said urgently, "Wait until I finish reading this chapter."

Yun Lin'ai was pulled to tilt his waist, and his gaze turned to the back of his hand on the outside of his trouser leg.

So he waited for a while, and finally couldn't resist the pheromones that were always faintly visible at the tip of his nose, and bent down to close the book that had entranced Shi Yu.

Seeing the other person's expression of shock and nearing sadness, he slowly opened his mouth and said, "What other books do you want? Bring them all over to check out."

In Shi Yu's eyes, this sentence surprised him more than buying those clothes.

"Then you can return those clothes. I only want the books."

Unexpectedly, the other party used this as a threat, his eyes narrowed again and again, "If you bargain with me again, you won't buy the book."

Wanting to save him money, Shi Yu shut his mouth instantly, and followed Yun Lin'ai with a bunch of selected books in his arms. After Lu Yichuang knew about this, he laughed at him and said that he was like a short-legged cat that was tempted by a cat strip to follow Yun Lin'ai home.

The short-legged cat followed Yun Lin'ai happily to pay the bill, and then came out of the bookstore holding a big paper bag. Yun Lin'ai saw that the paper bag covered half of his face, and was about to ask him to give it to him when he heard a commotion not far away.

A group of people gathered together, not knowing what they were doing. Yun Lin'ai was not a person who liked to join in the fun, so he dragged Shi Yu towards the elevator. When they were about to go down, Shi Yu noticed that there seemed to be a person lying in the crowd. He couldn't see clearly, but the person must be in a bad condition.

It was not until the crowd was dispersed by several security guards that he could see clearly that the man was being held, his face purple and unconscious.

Yun Lin'ai saw his serious expression and asked, "What's wrong?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the short-legged cat beside him scurried away, and he didn't even touch its tail.

When Shi Yu walked in, he noticed that it was an elderly grandmother. Her daughter was holding her, at a loss: "Please, help me call an ambulance!"

"The ambulance was too late to get her down. She couldn't breathe."

The crying lady stared blankly at the person squatting in front of her. Often in the most critical moments, she would easily place her hopes on others.

But when Yu unbuttoned the old woman's coat, she heard him explain his identity: "I'm still a medical student, but if your mother doesn't perform CPR, she will soon suffer cardiac arrest and won't be able to wait for an ambulance to arrive, so please trust me for a while."

The other person spoke firmly and reliably. Even though the chatter around him was particularly harsh, he seemed unaffected. He began to judge her mother's pulse and breathing, and pressed the correct position with the base of his palm, and crossed his other hand on top of it, pressing hard.

Shi Yu strictly followed the ratio of chest compressions to artificial respiration to perform the cycle operation, completely ignoring the large crowd behind him. He devoted himself to it, and a layer of fine sweat appeared on his forehead. He persisted in pressing until his hands were almost out of strength, until the old man resumed spontaneous breathing, his pupils shrank from large, and his complexion turned from cyanosis to rosy.

Shi Yu finally released his strength. He sat down and thought he was going to hit the ground on his back when he suddenly leaned against something hard.

He turned his head to the side, revealing a pair of slender legs wrapped in wide-leg pants, which were now pressing against Shi Yu's back. His tall and slender figure was like a cedar on a winter night.

The paramedics arrived quickly, and the lady who had calmed down bowed to him several times in a row. Shi Yu was forced to stand up and help her up. As soon as he stood up, his hypoglycemia came back. He endured the black fog in front of his eyes and told her to go and take care of her mother quickly. The old woman was pushed away in a cart, and the crowd dispersed.

Only Shi Yu and Yun Lin'ai remained where they were.

"Can you walk by yourself?" Yun Lin'ai asked him.

Shi Yu stood there without moving, the sweat on his forehead had not yet dried. Before he could say anything, someone hugged his shoulders tightly, and gradually he could hear breathing sounds that did not belong to him.

"Home."
