The first time Mo Xiaoqing saw Ji Muhan was in a coffee shop with a "superb atmosphere."
Those clear, bright eyes, tinged with a hint of allure, left a deep impression on her heart.
"Why don't you try dating my son first? If it really doesn't work out, then you can break up, okay?"
Mo Qing frowned. The meaning in Li Yu's words was too obvious. She was about to refuse, but before she could say anything...
"Yu." Shen Yang quickly followed, gently patting her back, comforting her while softly advising, "We can't rush these things. Our son is still young, there's no need to be so anxious. We can do it later, okay?"
The girl was so frightened that her face turned pale. He preferred the girl from the Ji family.
Judging from how protective Mo Qing and Mo Shi are of their eyes, they're probably a troublemaker. And their son doesn't like being tied down. The two of them don't seem like a good match at all. What if the marriage doesn't work out and they end up as enemies instead...
"How could I not be worried? That's my son, how can I not be at ease?" Upon hearing this, Li Yu immediately raised her voice excitedly, shook off his grip, and her eyes turned cold. "Chen Yang, if I don't take care of him, who will? Do you even care? Just keep your philandering ways in check and don't harm my son, and I'll be grateful to you."
Upon hearing this, Shen Yang closed his eyes, feeling as if his heart was being torn apart, and hugged the emotionally distraught Li Yu. "Yu, how could I not care? He is also my son."
He knew what she cared about most over the years. He was truly speechless about what happened back then, but he later genuinely repented and started anew.
After all these years, why can't she let go of what happened back then and give him another chance?
He was sentenced to death in one fell swoop, with no chance of ever recovering...
“I told you he’s not your son.” Li Yu suddenly calmed down, shook off his hand, and said firmly.
Her calm, almost ruthless, cold and distant voice abruptly separated the two of them.
It's like the distance of the Milky Way. She's on the other side of the river, and no matter how much he wants to get closer to her, she will ruthlessly push him away, and he will never be able to reach the other side.
"Yu." Shen Yang felt a pang of heartache at the coldness in her eyes, and withdrew his hand dejectedly, hesitating to speak.
"I'm sorry." Li Yu realized her lapse in composure, composed herself, and resumed her kind and noble demeanor, a stark contrast to her previous sharp-tongued, aloof self.
Mo Qing didn't know what to say about the farce that had just happened, so she just smiled at her.
Mo Qing and Mo Shi were unfazed and continued to show their affection as if nothing was wrong with what was happening at the table.
Having been caught once, even if Mo Qing were incredibly bold, she wouldn't dare to sneak out again.
So he had no choice but to return to his seat.
Mo Yanyu's eyes swept over the red mark on Mo Qing's fair wrist, which had been gripped so tightly. Her gaze turned cold as she swept her eyes across Li Yu opposite her.
However, Li Yu stared at Mo Qing without any awareness, seemingly oblivious to everything happening around her.
Mo Qing sensed the murderous aura emanating from Mo Yanyu and immediately covered her wrist with her other hand.
She smiled at him, trying to calm him down, and said in a voice, "Brother, I'm fine, really."
She really is a pampered lady; how much strength could she possibly have?
However, her skin is too sensitive; every time someone grabs her wrist, a red mark like this appears.
It looks scary, but you don't actually feel much of a sensation.
"Aunt Li, my sister isn't feeling well. If you're alright, I'll take her home now. We'll visit again when we have time." Mo Yanyu gracefully wiped her mouth with a napkin, a slight smile playing on her lips as she explained with impeccable manners.
However, the curve of his lips was a perfunctory gesture, devoid of any warmth or sincerity.
The fact that he managed to hold back until now shows he has a lot of manners and self-control. If it weren't for the fact that she was his parents' friend for many years, he would have already abandoned her and dragged Momo away when she wanted Momo to be her daughter-in-law.
He's finally back for a few days, and it feels like the whole world is trying to steal Momo from him. It's heartbreaking. He's watching his precious baby grow up, and he hasn't even had enough time to spend with her. Now everyone wants to steal his cabbage.
I'm not eating it anymore. Let no one have a chance. Keep dreaming!
His Momo is his precious darling, he won't give her to anyone or marry her off to anyone. Does he really think he's just a decoration?
"Where do you feel unwell? Do you need Auntie to take you to the hospital?" Li Yu immediately looked worried and stood up, looking very anxious, without caring about anything else.
Mo Qing choked, "..."
Surely she can't be completely alright?
This is really hard to answer. Aunt Xu really doesn't play by the rules. If it were anyone else, they would have been able to tell that the brother's discomfort was just an excuse.
It's not that I'm actually feeling unwell.
Even if she was really feeling unwell, her parents and brother were still here, so there was no need to trouble her to take her to the hospital.
Something's not right. Nothing's right.
If before she only felt a little uncomfortable with her enthusiasm, now she really wants to leave early.
Mo Qing frowned; Li Yu was really out of control.
What if I scare his precious daughter?
Even the protective Mo Qing couldn't stand it anymore. She wiped her mouth and stood up with Mo Shi.
"Li Yu, Shen Yang, we'll head back now."
Mo Shi glanced at her best friend with concern and sighed inwardly. Over the years, Li Yu's mental state had been fluctuating, and she knew it was because of her inner turmoil.
That's why she spoke up to stop her daughter from leaving, but that's only a temporary solution; the underlying issue can never be truly resolved.
