The ghost mother glared at him, and the old ghost head quickly stepped forward to check on Cui Yulu's condition.

It seems these two are together.

Cui Yulu was held down by the Ghost Mother and couldn't move, so she could only beg the old ghost to go and check on the situation.

“Alright, I was just thinking of going to see how my two good-for-nothing apprentices are doing. I can go for you.”

For several days in a row, the old ghost had not returned.
