(Time Travel + Space + Ancient Martial Arts + 1v1 + Patriotism) The descendants of the great shaman priest have dwindled. Unable to bear it, the old ancestor sends a modern orphan girl to the 1960s...
Time slips away unnoticed in the midst of busyness. Recently, An Moxue has been busy visiting several of her father's old comrades-in-arms, most of whom used to live in the same compound. They all know that An Moxue has returned, so they have to go; it's best to maintain the relationship.
That day, Wu Sicheng came over, and only An Moxue was left at home; Old Ma and Aunt Ma had both gone out.
"Mo Xue, what are you busy with? I haven't seen you for days."
"I've come to visit my elders."
"Come here, see what my mom asked me to bring you."
An Moxue moved to sit down next to him, and Wu Sicheng handed her the things.
Opening it revealed a pure white dress with a simple and elegant V-neck design.
"Please thank the auntie for me, this should be appropriate," An Moxue said, putting the dress into the bag.
Wu Sicheng took An Moxue's hand, played with it in his hand, and said with some grievance, "Moxue, you said I took leave to come back to spend time with you, but you've been busy for days and haven't shown up. Who am I supposed to spend time with? Don't you think you should make it up to me in some way?"
An Moxue looked down at their clasped hands and asked, "So what do you want?"
Wu Sicheng leaned close to her ear and whispered, "How about you kiss me?"
The soft, tingling breath made An Moxue very uncomfortable, and she took a step back. He then leaned closer and whispered in her ear, "Why are you hiding?"
An Moxue's face was a little red. She glared at him, but the glare had no intimidating effect. In his eyes, it looked like she was being coquettish.
He leaned closer and whispered, "Mo Xue, is it okay?"
"Fine, as long as you can catch me." After An Moxue finished speaking, she quickly stood up and ran outside with the paper bag in her hand. Wu Sicheng reached out but only grabbed air, and then got up and chased after her.
An Moxue ran back to her bedroom and put her dress in the closet. When Wu Sicheng caught up with her, An Moxue was closing the closet door.
He suddenly hugged her from behind, grabbing her hands. "You're so cunning, you're never honest."
An Moxue chuckled: "Of course, do you think it's so easy to take advantage of your grandma?"
"You caught me, does that count?" He leaned close to her cheek from behind, his warm, moist breath washing over her face, causing her to tremble slightly.
"Are you sure?" She quickly lifted her foot and stomped it down, simultaneously pulling her hand out of her grasp, squatting down, and trying to escape from the side.
Wu Sicheng stepped back, dodging her footwork, and blocked her path with a leg. Then he quickly bent down, picked her up by the waist, and held her tightly beside him before walking towards the bed.
"What? Still trying to run away?" He put her on the bed and lay down on her.
"No, I can't run away," An Moxue said, as if admitting defeat.
"Give me a kiss," he said, pointing to his cheek.
An Moxue's eyes darted around, then she pressed her lips against his face.
"Is it over?" Wu Sicheng asked incredulously.
"Hmm, wasn't this what you asked for? What, you're not going back on your word, are you?" An Moxue looked at him suspiciously, then gave him a push, and he lay back on the bed.
Now, An Moxue was even more doubtful. Was he even a man? Was that it? She thought he would take things further.
Wu Sicheng looked at her, wondering what kind of look she was giving him. Was she perhaps dissatisfied with him? If he knew what An Moxue was thinking, would he regret it?
"Mo Xue, the matter has been resolved, and the Li family members will be sent to various places to serve their sentences."
"Okay, I understand." Actually, she had already received a call from Director Hou today.
"School's about to start, is there anything we need to buy?"
"No need, Aunt Ma has already prepared everything for me."
"For your first year, if you're not staying on campus, just take your work ID to the department head and get a note. This year, all freshmen are required to live on campus."
An Moxue turned to look at him, "You even asked that?"
He turned to look at her and said, "Yeah, I asked the school teachers. I'm so busy when school starts. But it's a full-day program, which is different from when we only went to class. And after you start school, I'll be going to school too, but I'll have Sunday off. I'll come see you then, so you'll have to make time for me."
"Okay." If anything goes wrong, I won't blame her.
Seeing that she answered without hesitation, he asked suspiciously, "You're not lying to me, are you?"
She answered sincerely, "How could that be?"
He pondered for a moment, then asked, "Is it alright to stay abroad for so long without going back?"
An Moxue thought for a moment and said, "Probably not. If there are any problems they can't solve, they will tell me through secret channels. And they are all self-contained and do not interfere with each other, so it's not a big problem. I don't usually manage them every day; sometimes I only check in every few months."
He thought about his network of influence abroad; he rarely showed his face in public, and if it was well managed, there wouldn't be any problems.
He reached out and took a lock of her hair, playing with it in his hand.
"Sigh! School starts soon, and we'll only be able to see each other once a week."
"Yeah, we hadn't seen each other for years, but we still made it through!"
"How can that be the same? How do you know I'm better?" An Moxue glanced at him discreetly. When men get sentimental, women really have nothing to do with it!
The two of them stayed in bed like that, chatting away, one sentence here, another there.
"I heard there's a place near the West Gate that sells really good cold noodles, want to go try it?"
"Sure! I wonder how busy things will be after school starts? Will you come with me to the ghost market in Dongcheng tomorrow morning?"
"You have to go there in the middle of the night, and by 3:30 AM the place is packed. What do you want to find?"
"Whatever. My mentor arranged for me to read a lot of basic books. He said that practice is the key to getting the hang of things faster. I figured this ghost market only happens once a month, so I might as well go and broaden my horizons!"
"If that's the case, let's go to Yuntai Temple sometime! We can find some things to practice there, and they even sell snacks!"
An Moxue asked curiously, "Has it opened up to this extent now?"
"There always need to be a few pilot projects before gradually expanding. Shanghai has also opened up many areas and expanded its investment attraction efforts. However, most people are still taking a wait-and-see approach. What are your thoughts?"
"We'll have to wait. The time isn't right yet. But, Hai Shi, do you have any connections in this area? I'd like to learn about foreign investment."
"I'll ask you when we get back."
"Really?"
"Yes, a childhood friend, works at the China Merchants Group in Shanghai, but I don't know his exact position now."
He looked at the pores on her face. How did she do it? He felt that in the past ten years, time had not left any marks on her face. On the contrary, her skin was more delicate, like white porcelain, as if it had been polished.
She gave him a reproachful glare. "What are you looking at?"
"Look at you!"
