...Chapter 275 The Origin of the Energy Conversion Array
"An energy conversion array? I haven't seen that in the Holy Scripture of Light."
"I can explain that!"
"I would like to hear the details!"
"When I obtained the Energy Conversion Array, I knew its origin. During one of his travels, the Lord of Light encountered a world where the Tribulation of the End of Dharma had already arrived before the Lord of Light himself descended."
Because of the coming of the end of the Dharma, the spiritual energy of heaven and earth has become less active, and the amount of spiritual energy is decreasing. As time goes by, extraordinary beings can no longer utilize the spiritual energy of heaven and earth.
Because most humans have lost their reverence for God due to their belief in science, the power of their faith has naturally diminished. This reduction in faith power and spiritual energy is detrimental to all extraordinary beings. After all, unless they transcend the heavens and earth, all extraordinary beings like immortals, gods, ghosts, and Buddhas require a certain amount of energy replenishment. Without sufficient energy, their strength will gradually decrease over time, eventually leading to their demise.
Gods and Buddhas are relatively better off. Before the final calamity arrived, they had already begun to utilize the power of faith and had a certain number of followers. After spiritual energy became unusable, they could use the power of faith generated by their followers, so they wouldn't have to worry about their lives for a short period of time. After all, the spiritual energy and the power of faith used by gods and Buddhas in their cultivation are both considered forms of energy in the universe.
Before the end of the Dharma era, spiritual energy was relatively active, and all extraordinary beings used spiritual power to cultivate. Even those who worshipped gods would use a portion of spiritual power.
The end of the Dharma has arrived. The spiritual energy of heaven and earth has gradually become inactive. Many extraordinary beings have lost their spiritual power and have disappeared into the river of time.
In order to maintain their own strength and life, and to compete for the limited power of faith, the extraordinary beings such as gods, Buddhas, ghosts and immortals were fighting tooth and nail.
As the representative of the gods of faith in this world, the God of Light naturally faced more attacks. Knowing his own limitations, the God of Light was unwilling to fight with the other gods. Furthermore, He realized that in the end, humanity might flourish and cease to be merely a tool for them to gather faith.
The God of Light believed that by then, the power of faith that the gods had been fighting over would be minimal, insufficient to help them survive the Great Calamity of the End Times. In order to safely pass through the Great Calamity of the End Times, the God of Light withdrew from the struggle at the first opportunity, returned to his divine kingdom, and devoted himself to studying the energy conversion array.
The God of Light's predictions gradually came true. Humanity increasingly believed in science and stopped worshipping the myriad gods and Buddhas, resulting in a dwindling supply of faith power. Ultimately, to fight for that last remaining bit of faith power, the gods and Buddhas unleashed Ragnarok. This battle had no victor, and the gods and Buddhas, having expended too much energy in the fight, found their faith power increasingly insufficient. In the end, the surviving gods in Ragnarok perished one by one.
The God of Light, due to the blockade of his divine kingdom, hid his own kingdom and did not participate in that great war. Although most of his followers were robbed, he survived.
Although the vast majority of humans no longer believe in gods, the God of Light, as the oldest deity, still has people willing to believe in Him and regard Him as a source of spiritual sustenance, even in his current state of decline.
After Ragnarok, the gods perished, but the faith in the God of Light remained unbroken. Every year, he could absorb a certain amount of faith power, thus sustaining his life until he successfully researched and developed the energy conversion array.
Unfortunately, it was all too late. He no longer had enough energy to activate the grand formation. Although some of his followers provided him with the power of faith, he was already at a loss. He didn't have enough time to wait for the formation to activate automatically. And so, he gradually marched towards annihilation, and the formation researched by the God of Light thus benefited the Lord of Light.
