In high school, everyone knew Zhou Yanchuan. From an illustrious background, with an excellent appearance, he was famously wild, untamable, and casually dissolute. Wen Jiu, on the other hand, was q...
Chapter 138 How did I fall in love with someone like this?
Wen Jiu looked at the person coming out of the study and politely said, "Good night."
Zhou Yanchuan maintained his indifferent demeanor: "Hmm."
She looked at him, hesitated for two seconds, then pressed down with her wrist and pushed open the door.
Wen Jiu was about to go in when she suddenly remembered something, so she went back and asked, "Is this your bedroom?"
Hearing this, Zhou Yanchuan lifted his eyelids and glanced at her, a half-smile on his face: "What? Do you want me to get you a new one again?"
His voice was soft, with his usual sarcasm. Wen Jiu seemed not to notice the sarcasm in his tone and nodded without any hesitation.
It feels quite different to guess than to have someone admit it directly; the latter is more annoying, especially when it's so straightforward.
Zhou Yanchuan straightened up and took a step toward her.
Wen Jiu met those dark eyes, and her heart skipped a beat for no reason. Before she could look away, she heard him say, "You've already slept with the person, so you can't sleep in the bed?"
She was startled, and after realizing what he had said, some images inexplicably surfaced in her mind. She blushed slightly and whispered, "It's different."
"How are they different?"
"We broke up."
Zhou Yanchuan gritted his teeth and said, "This is the only room. I'll sleep on the sofa instead."
As soon as he finished speaking, he actually turned around and walked towards the sofa.
He laughed in exasperation and said, "I've slept on the sofa too."
The person walking forward stopped.
Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person standing motionless in the center of the living room, and he had no doubt that she could stand there all night.
I'm impressed.
I've never met anyone more stubborn than her.
Zhou Yanchuan didn't say a word, but walked towards the person under the chandelier.
Wen Jiu watched him walk over, thinking he was about to say something to tease her again, but to her surprise, he picked her up by the waist without saying a word.
Suddenly feeling weightless, Wen Jiu instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, and one of her shoes fell to the ground.
Zhou Yanchuan pinched her leg with his hand: "We broke up, why are you getting angry with me? Do you really think I'll still indulge you?"
Wen Jiu remained silent, only struggling.
He was struggling when suddenly he hissed.
She probably aggravated her wound, and didn't dare to move anymore: "Put me down."
He ignored her, walked straight to the bedroom, and threw her onto the bed.
As they pulled, her shirt rode up, and Zhou Yanchuan's gaze lingered on her porcelain-white skin for a few seconds before he pulled the blanket over her.
Smelling the fragrance on the quilt, Wen Jiu reached out to lift it.
He gripped her wrist, his tone cold but not harsh: "What are you doing here? Don't you know your own body?"
Upon hearing Zhou Yanchuan's words, the person on the bed suddenly stopped struggling and remained silent. After a few seconds, they turned their back to him and turned away. The last glance they gave him before leaving was filled with such grievance that it seemed as if tears would fall freely at any moment.
His Adam's apple bobbed.
Even though he knew it was just an act, he still couldn't bear to see her feel wronged.
"You dislike me that much?" he asked.
Wen Jiu didn't speak, but the thought of what he might have done with other women on this bed made her feel uneasy.
The atmosphere was tense. A few seconds later, a voice came from behind.
"I haven't lain on the sofa next to me."
"Go sleep there."

Only one wall lamp was on in the bedroom. Zhou Yanchuan looked at the person who had fallen asleep on the sofa not long after lying down. He resisted the urge to pinch her cheek and wake her up, so he looked at her in the dim light and laughed at himself.
How did I end up liking someone like this?
Perhaps because she had been through so much that day, Wen Jiu slept very soundly that night. When she woke up the next morning, there was a set of clothes on the sofa, including underwear, innerwear, and outerwear, and every piece was the perfect size.
A light pink cashmere skirt and a beige women's coat; the clothes seemed to have been baked, giving off a warm feeling when worn.
She tied her hair up with a hair tie and went out the door.
The table was laden with a sumptuous meal, and as soon as Aunt Lin saw her, she immediately went up to greet her warmly.
Wen Jiu looked around but couldn't see the person.
There were two young girls in the living room, helping Aunt Lin carry the dishes.
Aunt Lin noticed her gaze and explained softly, "The master had something urgent to attend to and went out before dawn."
A hint of understanding appeared in Wen Jiu's eyes.
A girl wearing a light-colored knit sweater leaned over to pull out a chair for her: "The master instructed that Miss Wen should have breakfast first. Lu Nian is already waiting outside to see you off."
Did Zhou Yanchuan say where he was going?
The girl seemed surprised that she called Zhou Yanchuan by his name directly. She paused for a few seconds, then shook her head.
Seeing that no one knew, Wen Jiu didn't ask any more questions. She lowered her head and started eating breakfast. After drinking about two mouthfuls of porridge, she put the spoon down again.
"Is it not to your liking?" Aunt Lin asked as she stepped forward.
