Medical doctor Su Wan transmigrated to the Great Jin Dynasty. She initially thought she was in for a typical palace maid/harem drama, but soon she was married off as a bride to bring good luck by h...
Under the cold moonlight, two warhorses galloped along the road, one after the other.
Su Wan sat behind Wei Jingzhuo, with one arm around his waist, and used the other hand to take a frying pan from the apartment and hand it to him.
"My husband, place it against your chest."
She used this frying pan to deflect enemy arrows before and believed it brought her good luck.
Just as Wei Jingzhuo took the frying pan, Lu Bang turned around on his horse, drew his bow, and shot an arrow straight at Wei Jingzhuo's chest.
Su Wan turned to the side and saw Lu Bang shooting an arrow. She hugged Wei Jingzhuo tightly around the waist and shouted, "Block it quickly!"
A loud thud rang in her ears, like a small hammer striking a frying pan. She knew Wei Jingzhuo had successfully blocked the incoming arrow and exclaimed happily, "Fantastic!"
Wei Jingzhuo took the bow and arrows hanging on the saddle, handed the frying pan back to Su Wan, nocked an arrow, drew the bow, and aimed at Lu Bang.
Lupin was very confident in his archery skills, believing that his arrow would surely hit Wei Jingzhuo. However, he hadn't anticipated that Wei Jingzhuo would conjure a frying pan out of thin air and block the arrow.
Just as he was about to draw another arrow from his quiver, Wei Jingzhuo's arrow arrived, striking his right shoulder blade, and he immediately fell headfirst off his horse.
Wei Jingzhuo rode up to them, jumped off his horse, and helped Su Wan down from her horse as well.
Lupin wanted to draw his sword to fight back, but his right shoulder was in excruciating pain, and he was too shaky to pull out the sword. He said bitterly, "If it weren't for the pain in my body... I could have used my signature technique of rapid-fire arrows."
Wei Jingzhuo smiled slightly: "This arrow of mine could have killed you, but you would still have to live."
Su Wan felt a great sense of satisfaction. Wei Jingzhuo had been shot by Lu Bang with an arrow before, and now her husband had finally avenged him with his own hands.
The Western Rong generals who were chasing them caught up one after another. Some of them jumped off their horses, tied Lu Bang up like a dumpling, put him on the horse, greeted Wei Jingzhuo and the other two, and then the group headed towards the Western Rong camp.
Su Wan breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that Lu Bang had finally been captured.
She grabbed Wei Jingzhuo's hand and said, "Ajin, why did you come? Why do those Western Rong generals listen to you? Why didn't you just shoot Lu Bang dead?"
The situation was tense earlier, so she didn't have time to ask these questions. Now that she's relaxed, she has a lot of questions she wants Wei Jingzhuo to answer.
Wei Jingzhuo helped her onto the horse, and then he mounted his own horse and sat behind her, saying, "You'll see when we get back to the camp. You'll be busy from now on."
Su Wan was puzzled and leaned against Wei Jingzhuo's chest, asking, "What do I need to do?"
Wei Jingzhuo smiled, said nothing more, and led her at breakneck speed back to the Western Rong army's camp.
Upon entering the camp, Wei Jingzhuo rode without stopping, directly to the surgical tent, lifted her off the horse, and said, "Go in quickly."
Su Wan was even more confused. Seeing that Wei Jingzhuo refused to talk, she had no choice but to go into the operating tent.
Once inside, she understood everything immediately.
King Danmoji of the Western Rong lay on the sickbed, groaning softly. Several doctors were busily treating his wounds, and the air was filled with the smell of medicine and blood.
"Your Majesty," Su Wan rushed to the bedside in surprise, "So...you're still alive?"
Luna had told her that Danmoggi had been assassinated, and she had believed it all along. Looking back now, Luna had only been listening outside the tent, never actually witnessing Danmoggi's death. There's an old saying, "Seeing is believing." She finally understood why that was said.
Hearing her words, Danmoji barely opened his eyes and grinned, "Goddess, I am still alive. But if I am not saved soon, I will die."
Su Wan glanced at Danmoji's abdomen, where blood-stained bandages were wrapped. The doctor was using scissors to remove the bandages. She quickly called out, "Make way, I'll take care of it."
The doctors stopped what they were doing and looked at Danmoggi. Danmoggi raised his hand and waved it away, saying, "You may all leave. Let the goddess treat him. I trust her."
Everything was already prepared in the surgical tent, which Su Wan could use.
Danmogi had a piercing wound in her abdomen, clearly inflicted by Lupin. She was skilled at treating such puncture wounds and quickly began treatment.
“…Lupin stabbed me in the abdomen so that people would see through his disguise,” Danmoji said weakly. “If he had cut my throat, I would have been dead. Perhaps it was divine intervention that saved me.”
While treating the king, Su Wan asked, "Your Majesty, you fainted from the pain, which is why he mistook you for being dead?"
“Yes. Perhaps Lupin was careless, or perhaps he was too nervous? In any case, he didn’t check my breath,” Danmogi said. “When I woke up, I found myself lying in the operating tent, with what felt like several knives stabbing inside my stomach, and I was bleeding a lot. I thought I was going to die soon.”
"You've been bleeding the whole time, and nobody's been taking care of you. How have you managed to hold on until now?"
“Someone’s in charge,” Danmoji said slowly. “Your husband is in this tent. He bandaged me…or else…”
Su Wan paused, then turned to look outside the tent: "So he was hiding here."
No wonder Luna said he didn't know where Wei Jingzhuo had gone; he was hiding in this tent. No, I'll have to go out and ask him why he's hiding here.
She wanted to ask more questions, but Danmogi had already fallen into a deep sleep.
Danmoji's abdominal wound is not fatal. Although there was a lot of bleeding, with modern medical treatment, he can fully recover in time.
Without hesitation, Su Wan immediately took out all the surgical instruments from the pharmacy, lowered the gauze curtain to cover them, and then ran out of the tent.
Luna has returned to the camp and is standing outside the operating tent with the other Xirong generals, waiting. There are hundreds of people standing outside the operating tent, with torches lighting up the sky as bright as day, but no one speaks; everyone is anxiously awaiting the outcome of the treatment.
