The three shop assistants were furious when they realized that Su Wan was playing a trick on them, and they wanted to jump down from the counter to grab her.

Just as one worker was about to jump down, another shouted, "Don't step on the herbs! If you damage them, the boss will deduct your wages!"

Upon hearing the warning, the guy who was about to jump shuddered and stopped. Another guy who had picked up a medicine packet to hit Su Wan also quickly stopped.

The Yang couple took over the pharmacy because they wanted to make money. If any of the shop assistants damaged medicine, the damage would be deducted from their wages.

Su Wan stood at the door, a few feet away from the counter, with a small mountain of medicine packets in between. Seeing the three shop assistants looking awkwardly stuck at the counter, she smiled and took a mask from the pharmacy, saying as she put it on, "Come on, this young master is going to punish you properly today."

Baohetang blatantly oppresses the poor, and these employees, even if not the masterminds, are certainly accomplices. She had personally witnessed twice how the employees treated Zheng Lun viciously, and punishing them was entirely justified.

The three men were furious and shouted, "You little brat, don't you dare leave! Wait for us to come down here!"

They first considered the situation and realized they couldn't jump over the counter. Besides, after packing medicine all morning, their backs and legs ached, and they simply didn't have the strength to jump. But if they jumped directly off the counter, they would step on the medicine packs, so they had to lie down and move the medicine packs outside the counter back inside.

One of the more quick-witted waiters remembered that there were his own thugs in the back room, so he quickly turned around and shouted to the back room: "Come quick, someone is causing trouble."

The crowd of onlookers outside the door grew larger and larger, completely blocking the street. Among them, a kind-hearted person shouted to Su Wan, "Young master, he's calling his thugs, you'd better leave quickly."

Baohetang is now a veritable tyrant in Suiyang County, with its own professional thugs. People have long harbored resentment towards it, but most are outnumbered and powerless to do anything about it. Now that Su Wan has come to deal with Baohetang, while everyone applauds her, they are also worried about her safety.

Su Wan leaned against the door frame and laughed, "I'm not leaving. I'll stay here and watch the show."

After the waiters in the back room chased Zheng Lun away, they were surprised that someone dared to cause trouble in broad daylight. The waiters in the front room had to call out several times before the drinkers finally heard them.

They staggered out of the back room, carrying sticks, one after another. The one in the lead was the same guy who had driven Zheng Lun away earlier. He said in a gruff voice, "Who's the blind fool who dares to cause trouble at Baohe Hall? Beat them up first, then send them to the yamen with a note... a note."

Su Wan saw them, smiled, raised her hand and called out, "Hey, I'm the one causing trouble, come and catch me!"

The waiters opened their eyes and looked closely. They found a frail, delicate young man smiling at them. Somewhat disbelieving, they asked the receptionist, "Him?"

As the receptionist carried the medicine bags, he pointed at Su Wan and said, "It's him, grab him quickly."

The waiter carrying the stick walked out and saw that the passageway leading to the back room was also piled up like a small mountain of medicine packets, making it impossible for anyone to pass. He couldn't help but complain, "Are you guys having a relapse? Why are you packing up so many medicine packets? You're blocking the way!"

“Ugh, don’t even mention it,” the clerk at the counter pointed at Su Wan. “He tricked us, making us spend the whole morning packing medicine. It’s outrageous. Let’s grab him and give him a good beating.”

The workers in the back room were blocking the way for the medicine packets, saying, "The aisle is completely blocked by medicine packets, we can't get through."

The quick-witted clerk at the counter understood and advised, "Don't go this way. Everyone, go through the back door and come around to the front to catch this kid!"

This reminded the drinking buddies, who turned around and shouted as they headed towards the back room.

Su Wan glanced at the crowd, nodded to one of the guards, and gave him a meaningful look. The guard understood, waved, and left with several other guards.

The shop assistant carrying medicine packets at the counter called out to Su Wan, "You're finished. Our people will be here soon, so you can laugh now."

Su Wan turned around and laughed, "I'm so scared, I can't even walk."

The quick-witted fellow said, "Don't waste your breath on him, the area down there's cleared up, I'll go down and grab him right now!"

After a flurry of activity, they finally cleared a space outside the counter where they could stand. The quick-witted shop assistant stepped down from the counter and reached out to grab Su Wan. Su Wan took a step back, just barely missing him by half a foot.

Just as he was about to bend down to move the medicine bag at his feet, Su Wan took out a can of pepper spray from the apartment.

She had given her younger brother a jar of this when she got married. The jar contained purified capsaicin and piperine. It might not be enough to deal with murderous robbers, but it was more than enough to deal with these lackeys.

The usage is very simple. Just like spraying insecticide or air purifier, point the nozzle at your friend's face and press the button.

The shopkeeper saw her magically produce a small cylindrical metal can, something he had never seen before. Just as he was about to take a closer look, she sprayed him with something.

He paused for a moment, then suddenly covered his throat with both hands and shouted, "Chili..." Before he could continue, he was irritated by the chili spray and started coughing repeatedly, squatting on the ground with tears and snot streaming down his face.

Another clerk at the counter, unaware of what was happening, jumped down and said, "Useless! He's even afraid of chili peppers. I'll catch him; I can handle the spiciness the best."

Just as he was about to pounce on Su Wan, Su Wan squinted and raised the spray can, spraying him in the face again: "Can you eat spicy food? Cough cough... then I'll spray you some more."

Luckily, she had brought a mask early on. The spray spread, causing her eyes to sting and making her cough.
