Chapter 2 Selecting Knights and Squires

Martin walked out of the castle hall and onto the long garden corridor. Along the way, the maids and guards who passed by saluted respectfully, their bodies lowered, their eyes full of awe.

The eldest son, Karen, led the way and said as he walked, "I really don't understand what your plan is with these ten servants."

"However, as your eldest brother, I still have to remind you that these guards will become your personal soldiers in the future. The family will no longer focus on their training and will only provide them with daily food and accommodation."

"As for armor maintenance and knight potions, they are not included. Also, don't even think about going out on adventures."

He paused, then added earnestly, "Although the knight's squires aren't considered full knights, you still have to consider their perspective. While your status as an earl's son might allow them to follow you, you don't have any fiefdoms yet, so supporting them won't be easy."

As the two chatted, they soon arrived at the camp where the Knights were stationed. The Earldom governed five Knights, each with approximately 800 men.

The Knights here are by no means an ordinary team of regular soldiers, but a gathering of extraordinary knights. Even the lowest-ranking knight squire in the Knights, their strength should not be underestimated.

One knight order is enough to defeat a legion of 50,000 ordinary soldiers on the front battlefield, and the silver knights among them have a terrifying combat power of one against a thousand.

The knight's squire's physique was far superior to that of an ordinary person, and he could easily defeat a dozen fully armed soldiers.

When the two men reached the camp gate, the soldiers on guard saw them at a glance and saluted them hurriedly.

Karen asked, "Captain Vali, are you in the barracks now?"

The soldier quickly responded, "Master Karen, Captain Vali and the Deputy Captain have just returned from their rotation and are currently restocking their knight potions in the barracks. Several of the squires are preparing to break through and become knights. What an enviable prospect!"

As you walk into the camp, you will see teams of knights in shining armor, each immersed in different training.

Some were training their bodies with sweat pouring down their faces, their muscles tense, and every exertion seemed to contain endless power; others were concentrating with their eyes closed, tempering their wills, exuding a calm aura. They were all silently accumulating strength for the next advancement.

As a Silver Knight, Captain Vali had an incredibly sharp perception. As soon as Karen and Martin appeared at the camp gate, he noticed it and immediately went to the barracks door to wait.

As soon as he saw them, he smiled and joked, "Why are you two here? Maybe you knew I just got back from my rotation and wanted me to take you out hunting monsters?"

Karen quickly explained, "No, Uncle Wally, my father asked my brother to choose ten knights and squires from you."

Wally White turned his head, his eyes fell on Martin, and asked curiously: "Little Martin, why do you suddenly want a servant?"

Martin was speechless for a moment. He couldn't just say that he was in possession of such a secret system.

Seeing that Martin didn't say anything, Wally didn't ask any more questions. He just said cheerfully: "Okay, you two little guys come with me."

"There are over 180 knights and squires right now, and each of them is an elite warrior with a rich history of battle. Little Martin, come with me and take a look around. If you see anyone you like, take him away."

Martin was deeply moved when he saw such a generous Wally. He knew very well that such selection would probably take away those soldiers who were about to break through and become knights.

But Karen on the side did not feel much about this. In his opinion, a knight's squire and a real knight were two completely different concepts. The potion needed to break through to become a knight was very expensive, and the gap between the two was like a chasm.

After an hour of careful screening, Martin quickly selected ten knight squires who were willing to follow him, and all of them were knight squires in peak condition.

With that, today's goal had been achieved. Vali asked Karen and Martin to greet the Earl on his behalf, and also expressed his hope to ask the Earl for a few more knight potions.

Afterwards, Wally enthusiastically escorted Karen and Martin to the gate of the camp. His enthusiasm made Karen and Martin feel a little helpless and they could only promise to mention the matter to the earl.

After returning to the castle, Karen went to take care of his own affairs, and reported to the Earl that Wally wanted the knight potion.

Martin took the ten guards back to his room, carefully explained some precautions to them, and then asked the butler to lead them to rest.
