The eldest prince was pacing anxiously, awaiting news from the Sky-Embedded Storm Troops, when a sudden, noisy argument erupted outside the palace. He frowned and waved, "Go see what's going on outside."
The attendant hurried away, and a moment later came back with a pale face and a trembling voice: "Your Highness, this is bad! The Imperial Guards... The Imperial Guards have been ordered to arrest you!"
The eldest prince was stunned at first, then he laughed softly, with a hint of ruthlessness in his eyes.
"It seems those idiots have failed after all. Is Father impatient to get rid of them?"
He raised his hand and rubbed his brow, his tone cold, "Activate the backup plan."
The attendant bowed in agreement, turned around and quickly retreated.
Almost at the same time, alarms sounded in the princes' residences across the empire - the remnants of the lurking Void Storm Force.
The sudden attack was launched, targeting other princes. For a time, the royal family was in panic and undercurrents were surging.
The door of the hall was pushed open, and Prince Krent, dressed in silver armor, led the guards into the hall in formation. The sound of armor clashing echoed in the hall, carrying a fierce pressure.
The eldest prince looked up at him, a hint of sarcasm on his lips. "Fifth uncle is so willing to come out of your hibernation chamber. Why, instead of continuing your daydreams, you're meddling in your nephew's affairs?"
Prince Krent's face was as cold as ice, and his eyes pierced him like knives.
"Do you realize how much trouble you've caused? You mobilized the Sky-Inlaid Storm Troops without authorization to assassinate His Majesty from the Gods' Plane."
"You dare to collude with a distant nation—aren't you afraid of dragging the entire empire into a two-front war?"
The eldest prince slowly picked up the teacup, stroking the warm cup wall with his fingertips, and the tea mist blurred his eyes.
"Uncle Fifth, that's harsh. I just wanted to help Father 'clean up' the hidden dangers around him, and by the way...see how capable this new Majesty from the Gods' Plane is."
He took a sip of tea, and when he looked up, the smile in his eyes had disappeared.
"As for the distant kingdoms... since they want the empire's population, I don't mind handing them a knife and seeing who collapses first."
As he spoke, the eldest prince looked at Prince Karent meaningfully.
Prince Krent suddenly clenched the sword at his waist, and the scabbard made a slight sound as it could not bear the weight.
"You are playing with fire! His Majesty has decreed that your title of prince be stripped and you be banished to the Black Prison Galaxy to mine for minerals! Surrender."
The eldest prince put down his teacup and stood up. Suddenly, several figures in black emerged from the shadows behind him, their hands flashing with cold light. "Fifth Uncle, do you think I will just sit there and wait for death?"
The air in the hall froze instantly, the soldiers of the Royal Guard clenched their spears, and a new confrontation suddenly broke out in the magnificent palace.
Prince Krent's gaze swept across the man in black who suddenly appeared in the hall, then fell back on the eldest prince, his tone becoming increasingly cold.
"Grand Prince, are you really going to disobey orders and commit treason?"
The eldest prince stood up suddenly, his aura suddenly changed, and his face was so gloomy that water could drip out of it.
"At this point, Uncle Wu, do you think I still have a way out?"
“Okay, okay, okay!”
Prince Krent said "OK" three times in a row, then laughed in anger. He turned and shouted to the guards behind him: "Second Guards, listen up! Capture the rebels and kill them without mercy!"
"Yes!" The Guards responded in unison and quickly switched weapon modes.
The energy slot of the laser rifle lit up with a faint blue light, and it approached the eldest prince step by step, forming a tight encirclement.
Just when the two sides were on the verge of a tense situation, there were suddenly dense explosions and screams outside the hall, and the ground shook.
Prince Krent's adjutant, covered in blood, burst open the palace door and shouted in panic, "Your Highness, this is bad! The mecha warrior unit... they've rebelled! They're firing at our positions, and our brothers can't hold on any longer!"
Prince Krent's heart sank - the mecha troops were the elite troops directly under the royal family, how could they suddenly rebel?
He suddenly looked at the eldest prince, who had a smug sneer on his face.
"Fifth Uncle, do you really think I only rely on the Void Storm Troops?"
The eldest prince slowly retreated and merged into the shadows behind him.
"I already have my men in this empire's army. Today, either you let me go, or... we will be buried together in this hall."
The sounds of fighting outside the hall were getting closer and closer, and the light of the laser beam shone through the window lattice onto the ground, like dancing will-o'-the-wisp.
Prince Krent gripped the hilt of his sword tightly, his knuckles turning white. He had not expected that the eldest prince would have such a deep back-up plan. This capture had become a dangerous bloody battle.
Prince Karent shook his head. He knew that he could not let the eldest prince go. He could not explain to his elder brother and thought about the old emperor's methods.
"Send the signal to have the Third Mecha Corps come to our aid. Now hold the position."
"Yes." The adjutant then ran off.
The eldest prince smiled and said, "Fifth Uncle, it seems you are not going to let me go. Then guess whether there are any of my people in the Third Mecha Corps?"
Prince Krent's expression suddenly changed, and his hand gripping the hilt of the sword suddenly tightened, his knuckles turning white from the force.
He stared at the eldest prince, a hint of disbelief flashed in his eyes, followed by a bone-chilling chill.
"You even tampered with the Third Mecha Legion?"
The eldest prince slowly wiped the non-existent dust from his fingertips, a mocking smile on his lips.
"Fifth Uncle, do you really think that I've only been tending to the gardens and grass in my fiefdom these years? Every inch of this empire's fabric has long been embroidered with my hidden threads."
"Whether you believe it or not, if you press the signal now, you won't know whether it's reinforcements or my men who are coming."
The sound of gunfire outside the palace became more and more frequent, and the defense line of the Guards seemed to be loosening. Occasionally, a stray bullet would fly past the roof of the palace, making a sharp whistling sound.
Prince Krent took a deep breath, his eyes swept over the soldiers fighting bloody battles behind him, and finally gritted his teeth and said, "Even if there are your men in the Third Legion, I will never let you set foot outside this palace!"
He suddenly drew his sword, pointing the tip of the sword directly at the eldest prince, "Today, either you surrender to the law, or I die here in battle and give an explanation to Big Brother!"
The smile on the eldest prince's face faded, and a hint of cruelty flashed in his eyes.
"Fifth Uncle, why bother? This decadent empire should have had a new leader long ago. Since you refuse to accept my toast, don't blame me for being ungrateful!"
"Shut up. The empire will always belong to your majesty, no matter what happens. Even if the empire is corrupt."
Before he finished speaking, the men in black behind the eldest prince drew their swords. A flash of cold light passed through the dim hall, and a more brutal fight broke out in an instant.
