Inside the tent, candlelight flickered. Martin stared intently at the newly drawn military map before him.
After getting the map, Prince Herbert quickly arranged for a large number of copies to be made, and then distributed them to every noble. Martin naturally received a copy as well.
His eyes slowly moved across the map, his brows furrowed. Looking at the areas marked on the map, Martin was filled with confusion.
The coalition forces of the three kingdoms are now silent, which is really puzzling. Did they suddenly give up the attack and decide not to fight?
With this question in mind, Martin continued to study in depth. He expanded his vision and a huge pattern on the map came into view.
At first glance, the pattern resembles a magic circle, but upon closer inspection, it appears incomplete, and the overall feeling is not that it was constructed by humans, but more like a strange trace formed by nature.
However, Martin did not dwell on this strange pattern for too long. He quickly put it behind him and turned his attention back to the map.
At this moment, the communication crystal he was carrying suddenly lit up. Martin was slightly startled, picked up the crystal and answered it. When he saw that it was his mother, Mrs. Ellie, on the other end of the line,
He couldn't help but feel a headache, but he still cheered up and asked softly, "Mother, what do you want to talk to me about?"
On the other end of the line, Mrs. Ellie did not answer immediately, but only heard a faint sobbing sound.
Martin's heart tightened when he heard his mother crying, and he quickly comforted her, "Don't worry, mother. I will be careful. You know, I have the dragon knights protecting me."
After a long while, Lady Ellie calmed down a bit, and said with a hint of anger and worry, "If I hadn't heard from other ladies that there was a young man named Martin White on the battlefield, and he had a dragon knight under his command, I wouldn't have known you were already on the battlefield!"
"Martin, my son, you are only a few months away from coming of age. Why have you come to this dangerous battlefield?"
Martin listened silently to his mother's rants. When she finally finished, he slowly spoke, "Mother, Father has found a solution to my second brother Wayne's problem. As long as you make military achievements, you can go to the royal capital's treasury to exchange for a life seed."
"Now that the seeds have been replaced, Wayne will be able to return to his former state once this war is over."
After hearing this, although Mrs. Ellie was still reluctant to let her son take risks on the battlefield, it was too late to say anything since things had come to this point.
She calmed herself down and said to Martin seriously, "I don't care why you went to the battlefield. I just want you to promise me that you will come back alive and safe. Can you do that?"
Martin suppressed the surging emotions in his heart, his voice choked slightly: "Don't worry, mother. Oh, and one more thing, don't let William know that I'm on the battlefield."
Mrs. Ellie quickly responded, "I understand. I won't tell him." Then, the mother and son chatted about some trivial matters at home before ending the call.
A few more days passed. If the Dwarf Kingdom did not send out its legions to intercept, the entire Western Territory would have been completely occupied.
In a huge pit, the atmosphere was solemn and a bit weird.
The four sky mages stood neatly in their respective positions, their bodies erect, concentrating on transmitting magical elements to the huge magic crystal below.
The process seemed easy, but each of them knew in their hearts that they were participating in something major that could change the situation.
"Once this magic circle is activated, that area will be completely gone."
One of the sky mages broke the silence, with a hint of worry in his voice. While continuing to channel magical elements, he shook his head slightly, his eyes revealing uneasiness.
"Who said it wasn't?" another wizard continued, his tone full of helplessness. The Dwarf King wanted to negotiate, but you Orcs didn't agree.
We're stuck in the middle, and it's a difficult situation for us." As he spoke, he tilted his head slightly to look at the Orc Mage beside him, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.
"What's the point of saying this?" Another sky mage frowned and responded impatiently.
"Hasn't it already been agreed that after the war, an area would be allocated from the Orc Kingdom to compensate the dwarves? There's no point in bringing up old issues now."
He hummed softly, but his hands did not stop moving at all.
"If not this, what else can we talk about?" The mage who spoke earlier raised his voice, a little excited.
"You know, if this magic circle really works, none of us will be able to escape! When that happens, we'll all be doomed!"
His eyes were filled with fear and unwillingness, and he glared fiercely at the orc wizard.
Upon hearing this, the Orc wizard suddenly laughed wildly: "If I can't escape, then I can't escape! I'm so happy to have a dragon knight and 100,000 people buried with me!"
His laughter echoed in the pit, revealing a sense of madness and determination.
These days, Martin was really bored in the tent and had nothing important to do.
When he was bored, he would often contact Luoqiu Town. As soon as the call was connected, he hurriedly asked, "Have you run into any trouble recently?"
The answer he received surprised and delighted him. It turned out that not only was there no trouble, but most of the business had been voluntarily given up by the nobles, and Roland had already begun to take over.
Martin knew that it was all due to the dragon knight's deterrent effect.
Then, he contacted Betan and the other two who were mining, wanting to ask about the progress of their mining.
After the call was connected, Beitan excitedly reported: "Master, the ore the three of us have dug has almost filled four of the nine high-level space rings. By the time you come back, I think we'll be able to fill eight!"
