"Mom isn't as amazing as you say." Wu Wanying shyly smoothed her hair and walked with Yu Yao toward the open space outside the nursery.

"I don't care, my mom is just amazing."

Wu Wanying smiled immediately, and the sadness she had felt from hearing Hu Meiyun's words disappeared with Yu Yao's coquettishness.

Although she and Yu Yao have only known each other for less than half a year, their relationship is no less than that of other biological mothers and daughters.

They were even closer than mothers and daughters who lived together, because of their previous unfamiliarity.

Why should she be unhappy because of Hu Meiyun's words and make Yu Yao worry?

The large truck was parked in the open space in front of the classroom, and a lot of parents and children from the shipyard's residential compound gathered around it, all coming to see what was so special.

The children all liked Teacher Wu very much. When they saw Wu Wanying coming over, they all smiled and greeted her.

After exchanging greetings, the children peeked out from behind their parents, their eyes wide with curiosity as they looked at Yu Yao.

"Teacher Wu, who is this pretty lady?" a little girl with two pigtails asked.

Wu Wanying patted her head. "This is Teacher Wu's daughter."

The other children exclaimed, "Wow! Big sister is so pretty!"

Yu Yao walked over with a smile, greeted the children, and took out some candy she had prepared beforehand from her pocket and handed it to them.

"Wow, these candies are so pretty. Thank you, big sister."

Children are very innocent; they beam with joy at the sight of colorful fruit candies.

After receiving the candy, the little girl with the pigtails gently kissed Yu Yao's cheek and blinked her big eyes, saying, "Thank you for the candy, pretty sister."

"So cute!" Yu Yao couldn't help but pinch her little cheek.

It was getting late, so Yu Yao and the others didn't linger. After saying goodbye to the others, they got into the Jiefang truck and went back to the compound.

On the way back, Fang Qiaoqiao teased with a smile, "You're so popular with kids, you'll definitely be a great mother. When are you and Commander Lu planning to have children?"

“Lu Ze and I are still young, no rush. But you and my brother, you two… there’s something going on. Confess!” Yu Yao hadn’t forgotten the look the two of them had exchanged earlier.

Upon hearing this, Wu Wanying also looked over, her gaze shifting back and forth between Wu Huaiqing and Fang Qiaoqiao.

Wu Huaiqing smiled and looked at Fang Qiaoqiao, seemingly asking for her opinion.

Fang Qiaoqiao lowered her head shyly and nodded.

Then Yu Yao saw her cousin take her best friend's hand and announce happily, "Auntie, sister, Fang and I started dating the day before yesterday."

Yu Yao clapped her hands: "Congratulations!"

Wu Wanying was very happy that Yu Yao was married to Lu Ze and was living a happy life. Her biggest worry was Wu Huaiqing.

Now that I see he has someone he likes, I'm happy for him.

"You silly child, why didn't you tell me about such a happy event sooner? Qiaoqiao, don't worry about dating him. If he dares to make you angry, tell Auntie and Auntie will teach him a lesson for you."

Laughter filled the back of the truck on the way from the shipyard's residential compound to the military compound.

The truck arrived at the gate of the military compound, and Yu Yao got out and led the driver to the gate to register.

Once everything is confirmed to be in order, the truck can enter the residential compound.

It was four o'clock in the afternoon, and there were many family members coming and going at the gate of the military compound. They would take a curious look at the things on the truck as they passed by.

Seeing a rectangular object with a large red flower on it, and not knowing what it was, he asked Yu Yao, "Commander Lu's wife, what's that on the car? I've never seen it before."

Yu Yao smiled and said, "This is a refrigerator, a reward from the food factory."

"I heard he won the canned food R&D competition and not only made a refrigerator, but also became the workshop foreman."

"This outstanding person is indeed outstanding in everything he does. I can only envy Yu Yao's skills."

Refrigerators? Many of them had never even heard of them, let alone seen one, yet Yu Yao already owned one.

In the future, if Commander Lu's wife wants to eat popsicles, will she be able to eat as many as she wants?

Soon, the news that Yu Yao had received a Snowflake brand single-door refrigerator spread throughout the military compound.
