Three-and-a-half-year-old Chao Chao runs away from home because she is afraid of getting beaten up. She accidentally bonds with a system meant to redeem villains. Her task is to persuade villains t...
Chaochao, who had just plopped down on the ground, squinted her eyes. It took her a while to realize that she had bumped into the glass. Her little mouth pouted in grievance, and her almond-shaped eyes welled up with tears. Before the tears could even form, they were already stuck in her eyes.
The little dumpling stared at the little bee, which was less than a meter away from it.
"Wow--!"
Chaochao immediately buried her face in her hands and burst into tears, her childish voice filled with sorrow.
"Don't bite me! I'm a good child, waaaaah..."
At least don't bite her face, sob sob.
Just as she was begging for mercy, Chaochao suddenly put down the hands that were covering her head, picked up the water glass that was placed to the side, opened the lid, and the glass was filled with cool peach juice.
Chaochao held up her glass and whispered, not caring whether the bee could understand, "I'll treat you to something nice, so please stop chasing me, okay?"
The little bee, which was preparing to swoop down, suddenly stopped and started fluttering its wings around the water cup in the little dumpling's hand.
Chaochao's fingertips twitched slightly, as if afraid that the little bee might disagree and not want to drink the peach juice, and instead want to eat her hand.
The little bee slowly landed on the outside of the water glass.
Chaochao felt that it must have agreed.
The original lid can be used as a small cup.
Chaochao carefully tilted the large water glass, poured a little less than half a glass for the little bee, and placed it on the floor tiles in front of the glass.
She also thoughtfully reminded it, "This cup is yours. You're too small; drinking too much will make your stomach bloated."
The system thought to itself, "Isn't this what the villain Huo often says to you, Chaochao? How did you know that before?"
Chaochao pointed to the large water glass in her hand and emphasized in her childish voice, "This is for me to drink."
The little bee stuck to the cup wall reluctantly flapped its wings a couple of times, hesitated for a little while, and finally flew back to the cup.
Seeing this, Chaochao breathed a sigh of relief, then picked up her water glass and took a big gulp of peach juice as a reward for her cleverness.
The freshly squeezed peach juice was refreshing and sweet. The little dumpling, sweating from the heat, took a sip and immediately squinted her almond-shaped eyes, grinning happily.
In an instant, I made peace with the sadness of hitting the glass earlier.
The little bee was still clinging to the lid of the cup, sticking to the peach juice.
The little dumpling put down his water glass, patted his bottom, and stood up. Just then, Grandpa Bai walked by. When the old man saw the several potted plants that had suddenly appeared, his smile immediately changed. He slapped his thigh, his face showing concern but unable to scold the child.
"Oh dear, Miss Chaochao, didn't you say you'd let me come and move this this morning? This is really heavy..."
The little dumpling grasped the key words, and proudly declared with its head held high, "Yes, it's very heavy, but I carried it all!"
Grandpa Bai: "..."
I'm too old to remember clearly. Was he just praising the young lady?
Chaochao chattered away as she followed Grandpa Bai.
Pei Yushen, who was in the room, could not hear any sound. The old man and the young man slowly walked out of sight, and the garden outside the glass window returned to its oil painting-like stillness.
When the nanny came to collect breakfast, she saw that the boy had only drunk a small half bowl of plain porridge and hadn't touched anything else. She sighed silently.
At least I ate it.
The nanny glanced at the boy's back as he silently looked out the window.
He's just a kid, while other kids his age are running around the yard, playing basketball, playing games, and surrounded by friends... But Young Master Pei just sits in his quiet bedroom all day, neither reading nor playing on his phone, like a soulless shell.
It would be a lie for the nanny not to express her pity for the boy.
She sighed and closed the door.
Outside the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Chaochao followed Grandpa Bai back. This time, the old man would never let Chaochao move the flower pots again, but he promised that she could put a finger on the edge of the flower pot, which would also count as her contribution.
After thinking it over, the little dumpling happily agreed.
After bringing over this pot, Grandpa Bai went to get the watering tools.
With her back to the glass window, Chaochao squatted in front of a pot of beautifully blooming gradient pink tulips, her little hands holding a paintbrush and drawing on the white paper.
During this time, she secretly turned around and looked suspiciously into the glass window.
In the same unchanging spot, Pei Yu's deep, dark gaze fell on the window, as if he were looking at her, but Chaochao felt that he wasn't looking at her.
The boy's eyes were distant and vacant, unfocused.
Chaochao couldn't describe the feeling, she just blinked blankly and continued to bury herself in her painting.
Just one last piece!
As soon as Chaochao filled in the colors in the petals, she immediately stood up, excitedly ran to the glass with her drawing paper in hand, facing Pei Yushen, her round almond eyes sparkling.
The drawing paper is covered with all sorts of flowers.
White, green, red, yellow, blue, pink, or whether long or short, the brushstrokes are childlike, the lines are simple, almost filling all the blank spaces, full of vitality, flamboyant and passionate.
The little dumpling held up a piece of drawing paper in one hand and pointed to the flowers behind her with the other, saying, "Brother Yushen, look, there are flowers here!"
His imposing manner seemed to say, "Look, young man, this is the empire I've built for you!"
Pei Yushen looked at her lip movements and roughly guessed what she was saying.
Chaochao knew that her brother Yushen couldn't hear her in the room. She was the kind of person who could chat even if she was facing a wall, so she didn't expect her brother to react. She picked up her painting and went off to enjoy herself.
Grandpa Bai came over with a water hose, and the spray gun in his hand sprayed a fine mist of water onto the flower clusters, which fell on the soft petals and gathered into crystal-clear water droplets.
A colorful arc appeared under the sunlight through the clear water mist.
Chaochao's almond-shaped eyes suddenly widened.
Another rainbow!
The last time, it was Brother Shize who sprayed it on her.
Chaochao excitedly turned her head and said to Pei Yushen in the room, "Brother Yushen, look! Rainbow!"
