Three-and-a-half-year-old Chao Chao runs away from home because she is afraid of getting beaten up. She accidentally bonds with a system meant to redeem villains. Her task is to persuade villains t...
While Chaochao stood there in a daze, Pei Yushen had already pushed the wheelchair to a place five meters away.
Once she came to her senses, Chaochao immediately jogged after him, her slightly out of breath filled with curiosity.
"Brother Yu Shen, why aren't you riding the electric car?"
Sometimes when she went to work with her father, she would sit in the car and look out the window. She would often see two or three young men and women on the street, riding in those electric wheelchairs.
Wouldn't it be easier to sit up like that? You wouldn't even need to push yourself up...
And that way, Chaochao can hold her brother's hand...
Pei Yushen reacted coldly to the child's innocent question:
"dislike."
"Okay, okay..."
Chaochao's short legs tried hard to keep up with the wheelchair's pace, but the wheels rolled faster and faster. The little dumpling held her breath and tried to speed up, but she still couldn't keep up and slowly fell behind the wheelchair.
"Brother Yu, Brother Yushen...you're walking too fast..."
Chaochao, panting, supported herself on her knees with her two little hands and complained in a childish voice from behind.
Brother, have you forgotten about the little ones?
Upon hearing the word "go," the boy paused for a moment, then remained silent, waiting for the little dumpling to slowly catch up.
The first thing Chaochao did upon catching up was to have a serious and righteous argument with Pei Yushen.
"Brother Yushen, this isn't how you play. If you walk too fast, you won't be able to see the little flowers, grass, birds, ants, earthworms, and bees."
Can this even be called playing?
Wouldn't that just turn it into a mere stroll?
The little dumpling stood with its hands on its hips and said with a serious expression.
Pei Yu pursed his lips slightly, suppressing a rising regret in his heart, and finally said only, "I understand."
Upon hearing this, Chaochao nodded with great satisfaction.
Brother Yu Shen, you are teachable.
Next, Pei Yushen finally slowed down, and later even moved and stopped on the path to match the little dumpling's pace.
The garden at the Huo residence is very large; a visit each day reveals a different surprise.
Chaochao was like a wind-up claw machine, full of energy that seemed inexhaustible. She jumped around the boy, sometimes squatting on the left, muttering to herself as she observed the small leaves of the flowers, and sometimes sticking her bottom out and crawling into the grass on the right just to pick up pretty little stones.
These things, which Pei Yushen found utterly boring, were thoroughly enjoyed by the children.
After gently placing a ladybug back on the leaf, a satisfied Chaochao slowly walked towards the boy.
Just then!
A dark shadow descended from the sky like the wind on the path in front of us!
Chaochao: "!!!"
What could have caused this?! Could it be...?
The maid's declaration from the Magic Mirror Sister suddenly popped into my mind...
The terrified little dumpling didn't even dare to look directly at anyone. After spinning around in place, it let out a "whoosh" and quickly found a place to burrow into, curling up into a ball to hide itself.
Pei Yushen stared expressionlessly at the black thrush blocking the road, then looked down at Chaochao, who was trembling behind his wheelchair.
Something was stuck behind, blocking the wheelchair's path.
Pei Yushen: "...It's a bird."
The boy's calm voice drifted into Chaochao's ears. She cautiously peeked out from her wheelchair and saw a small black bird gracefully preening its feathers on the road ahead.
Well, it can't be considered small, it's more like a medium-sized bird...
The little dumpling breathed a sigh of relief, then suddenly realized that its behavior of trying to find a place to crawl away was a bit cowardly. It quickly climbed out from under the wheelchair, and the small bundle stood in front of the boy, starting to socialize with unusual friendliness: "Little Blackie, what are you doing here?"
The blackbird finally raised its head from under its wing and lazily glanced at the little ball of fur.
What do you mean, "Little Hehe"? Your whole family is called "Little Hehe".
Chaochao seemed unaware that she had been mocked by the bird, and tilted her head to give a very serious introduction.
"No, my name is Chaochao, and my dad's name is Huo Qin... Everyone has their own name. Xiao Heihei is the name I gave you, and no one else has ever called you that before."
Pei Yu frowned and glanced at the little dumpling's serious back.
Why are you talking so enthusiastically to a bird?
Chaochao recited the entire family genealogy, then looked at the little bird that was still lingering in the middle of the road.
"Little Blackie, a good bird doesn't block the way."
All warnings lose their power in the soft, cute baby voice.
The blackbird ignored her.
Chaochao sullenly put his hands in his pockets.
Why is Little Black so aloof?
Pei Yushen frowned the entire time he watched the little dumpling negotiate.
Why try to reason with birds? Just chase them away.
Suddenly, a clear bird song pierced through the grass and headed straight for the blackbird.
With a deafening roar in the sky, Bai Bai made a dazzling entrance!
The white bird landed next to the blackbird and called out to it arrogantly a few times, probably quite fiercely. The blackbird, not to be outdone, flew away grumbling.
The more Chaochao looked at the valiant white bird, the more familiar it seemed. In her childish voice, she tentatively asked, "Are you... Bai Bai?"
As soon as Bai Bai's name was uttered, the bird took flight and landed in front of the child.
It was none other than the gift Chaochao received yesterday: a number five Java sparrow.
Chaochao squatted down and touched the top of the Java sparrow's head with great surprise, "Baibai, so you're here! I didn't see you when I came back yesterday."
The Java sparrow, which had just appeared like a divine being descending from the heavens, is now tilting its head affectionately and nuzzling into the child's soft palm.
"By the way, Bai Bai, did you see the little yellow flower I put there? I went back and found that only half of it was left."
