Chapter 165: Dangers Abound

The day of this voyage was an auspicious one, as indicated by the almanac. Besides Princess Jinyi and Xu Lin, they were accompanied by thirty guards and fifty miners.

At the auspicious hour, the crew weighed anchor and set sail. With a resounding "start," several large ships laden with cargo and people set sail one after another. Standing at the bow, Princess Jinyi breathed a sigh of relief as she felt the sea breeze, "Riding the wind on the sea, sailing across the misty waves for thousands of miles."

Xu Lin, standing by, looked at Princess Jinyi with gentle eyes and said, "There will be a time to ride the wind and waves, and set sail to cross the vast ocean."

The two smiled at each other and looked back at the land of Quanzhou that was already far away.

The three days of sailing had been calm, giving the impression of a smooth journey. But then, that night, a strong wind suddenly arose, growing stronger as the ship sailed. Before the crew could turn, a massive wave swept over the bow.

Princess Jinyi, feeling the turbulence of the ship, sat up from her bed. Just as she was about to get up, the ship capsized. Outside, there was a commotion. The door to Princess Jinyi's cabin was opened from the outside, and in came Ah Da and Ah Er.

The two men protected Princess Jinyi, who had fallen to the side, while Xu Lin clung to a cabinet on the boat. The captain and his crew repeatedly turned the sails and spun the ship. After losing four crew members, they finally gained distance from the wind and waves. Ten guards were dispatched, and under the captain's command, they righted the boat and sailed away from the waves.

It took almost half an hour from the time the storm hit until the ship was able to sail again. Princess Jinyi finally vomited from the turbulence, only then did she realize the dangers of sea transportation. After the ship was able to sail again, Xu Lin hurried to find Princess Jinyi, but was stopped outside the cabin by Ah Er.

When the ship was in danger, Xu Lin couldn't help but panic. He wasn't afraid of losing his own life, but of Princess Jinyi. He would definitely not agree if he wasn't allowed to see Princess Jinyi in person. For the first time, Xu Lin angrily shouted with cold eyes, "I have been entrusted by His Majesty to protect the princess. How dare you stop me?"

Ah Da, holding the sword, said dissatisfiedly: "Master Xu, it's late at night, and you, a man, want to break into the boudoir at night?"

Xu Lin blushed at Ah Er's words and said with a hint of annoyance, "Boss Hu, I'm just worried about the princess's safety. I'll take a look at her and leave."

Ah Er put on a helpless expression. Xu Lin was about to argue when Ah Da came out. He bowed and said to Xu Lin, "Master Xu, please go back. The princess has gone to bed."

After saying that, Ah Da went into the cabin without saying much to Xu Lin. Xu Lin moved his mouth and was about to leave when the boat shook violently again. The voice of the crew came from outside: "Oh no, it's a big fish."

Ah Er grabbed Xu Lin and walked into the cabin, and stood beside Princess Jinyi. Xu Lin staggered towards Princess Jinyi. With a bang, the people in the cabin also felt as if the boat was hit by something huge.

Xu Lin fell to the ground, looked up at Princess Jinyi on the bed, and asked with concern: "Is the princess okay?"

Seeing Princess Jinyi nod, Xu Lin smiled slightly and said, "I will definitely protect the princess."

Princess Jinyi on the bed was amused. She looked at Xu Lin lying on the ground and said with a smile, "Master Xu, please take care of yourself."

After the boat was hit several times, a cry of surprise came from outside: "Dew!"

Ah Da quickly protected Princess Jin Yi and rushed out, while Ah Er went out first to check. After confirming that the giant creature had swam away, Ah Er picked up Xu Lin and headed for the stern. A dozen guards lowered the spare boat at the stern and escorted Princess Jin Yi aboard. Xu Lin was also thrown aboard by Ah Er.
