After being stared at by him for a while, Xiang Zhilan felt inexplicably guilty, as if she had done something to wrong him.

"If there's nothing else, you should go back now." She avoided his gaze.

"I didn't take back what I sent." Shen Muzhi's tone was somewhat cold and hard.

"Anyway, I don't want to." Xiang Zhilan disliked his forceful tone and waved her hand impatiently, "Hurry up and leave, I get annoyed just looking at you."

Shen Muzhi's face darkened considerably. When had he ever been turned away like this? Seeing her unwelcoming expression, even a clay statue of Vajra would get angry, let alone someone with a temper that wasn't exactly mild to begin with.

"You really don't want it?" he asked one last time, his face cold.

"No, no," Xiang Zhilan said twice, then lay down on the bed, turning her back to him to sleep.

Then she heard a sound behind her, followed by the sound of Shen Muzhi walking out of the room.

After a while, when she heard no more of his voice, she slowly sat up, glanced at the trash can, and saw the black card thrown inside.

"Really..." Xiang Zhilan didn't know what to say about him. He would rather lose or destroy than back down even half a step. He was cold and stubborn.

She got out of bed, bent down to pick up the black card, wiped it with a tissue, and put it in the drawer.

Oh well, even if she keeps it, she won't use it anyway. He can't force her to use it at gunpoint.

Xiang Zhilan walked out of the bedroom, glanced at her father sitting in the living room watching TV, and asked somewhat awkwardly, "Where is he?"

"What do you mean 'him'? You're getting married in less than half a month. You're talking like he's someone unimportant to you." Xiang's mother came out carrying the dishes and scolded her.

"Yes, Lanlan, did you upset Muzhi? It's almost dinnertime, and he suddenly says he's leaving," Xiang's father chimed in.

"I didn't," Xiang Zhilan muttered when she saw that they were all siding with Shen Muzhi.

"Alright, go wash your hands and let's eat." After serving the last dish, Xiang's mother urged the father and daughter.

Xiang Zhilan turned around and went into the bathroom to wash her hands. She had just come out when she heard the doorbell ring. She quickly went to open the door.

Unexpectedly, standing outside the door was Shen Muzhi, who had returned.

"I left my phone here," Shen Muzhi said coldly, looking at her.

"Muzhi, come in quickly, dinner is ready." Xiang's mother was very happy that he had returned.

Xiang Zhilan stepped back two steps, making room for him to enter.

Shen Muzhi walked in and warmly greeted his mother, inviting him to sit down at the dining table, saying, "Don't be disgusted by the food."

"It's a very nice meal, thank you, Mom." This time, Shen Muzhi didn't refuse.

Xiang Zhilan felt that he didn't seem to be there to pick up his phone, but rather that he had come back specifically for a meal.

She sat down next to him, and he ate without saying a word.

Throughout the entire dinner, he didn't speak to her or even glance at her. Instead, he chatted and laughed with Xiang's mother and the others.

The two elders watched the young couple bicker but didn't press the issue. They said that everyone goes through this when they're young, and that making up after a little argument is always sweeter.

After finishing their meal, Xiang's mother started clearing the dishes, and Xiang Zhilan offered to help.

"Go out and take a walk with Mu Zhi in the park next door." Xiang's mother pushed Xiang Zhilan out of the kitchen and said to Shen Mu Zhi, "Why don't you go for a walk with her? You can't stay at home all the time while you're pregnant."

Shen Muzhi nodded, took Xiang Zhilan's hand, and went out.

As soon as they stepped out of the house, Xiang Zhilan immediately pulled her hand back: "My mom can't see this, stop acting."
