Ni Sitian frowned and stopped looking at him, trying to ignore him as if he were invisible.

"Sisi." Qin Mubei grabbed Ni Sitian's arm and pulled her back to him.

"Let go." Ni Sitian's face darkened; she didn't understand the point of Qin Mubei's current entanglement.

"You owe me a chance to explain what happened back then." Qin Mubei stared intently at her, pleading in a soft voice, "For the sake of the past, could you give me five minutes?"

Ni Sitian scoffed. Why could he be so self-righteous in front of her? She took a breath and said, "I have no interest in knowing about those old, messy things, no matter what the reason was."

"Do you really believe what you see with your own eyes? Do you even know that it's...?"

Ni Sitian impatiently shook off his hand, not wanting to hear him continue speaking, and strode past him.

But as soon as she took a step, a sharp pain shot through her abdomen.
