“That’s because I’m more charming than you guys,” Pei Yang said to Xu Tingchuan with a raised eyebrow and a smile.

Ni Sitian and Xu Jiayue looked on with some curiosity, and Xu Tingchuan introduced them: "Air Force Regiment Commander Han Shizhao, Reconnaissance Battalion Commander Ye Jinyan, and Navy Deputy Regiment Commander Rong Shaoan."

Then Xu Tingchuan introduced Ni Sitian and Xu Jiayue to them and invited them to come in and sit down.

“Three soldiers, from different branches of the military. Where did you meet them?” Ni Sitian asked Xu Tingchuan curiously.

"Have you forgotten that I used to be a soldier?" Xu Tingchuan put his arm around Ni Sitian's shoulder and then lowered his voice, "Actually, I'm not very familiar with them, but Mu Zhi is probably more familiar with them."

"Then why does Pei Yang seem to know them quite well? Did Pei Yang also serve in the military?" Ni Sitian wondered.

Xu Tingchuan smiled and asked in return, "Have you ever seen Pei Yang not be familiar with anyone?"

Ni Sitian chuckled. It was indeed true. Pei Yang had a special skill: if he wanted, he could make a friend with just a few words. Among Xu Tingchuan and his group, Pei Yang had the widest circle of friends, but he didn't have many truly close confidants.

After Xiang Zhilan hung up the phone, the car drove onto the Tonglian Bridge and into the island in the middle of the lake.

Ni Sitian stepped forward to greet Xiang Zhilan, took her arm, and said, "There's going to be some excitement tonight. Pei Yang and Jia Yue are just too in sync."

She recounted what had just happened and then led Xiang Zhilan to the barbecue area.
