If I could, I wouldn't want to transmigrate at all. I just want to stay in the world I've lived in for 24 years, playing online games, traveling, and taking photos... but those are just ...

☆, Reversal, Ethan's Death

Albert Wesker is like a bottomless pit filled with black fog; you can never fathom his depths, let alone see his full picture. Just when you think that's all he's capable of, cruel and dark reality will mockingly remind you how ignorant and naive you are.

Now, Alex Wesker finds himself in a state of infuriating frustration with nowhere to vent it. All his previous tests, no matter how hard he tried, had always fallen just short of Albert; now it seemed it was more than just a matter of one step. This Number 13 was far too cunning; as a former member of the "Wesker Children" program, he must have held back, deceiving not only Spencer, whom Umbrella had killed, but also all the "Weskers," including Alex Wesker, the genius with considerable research experience on the Progenitor Virus.

Alex found it hard to accept that his plans seemed like child's play in Wesker's eyes. Without Wesker, Alex would undoubtedly have become the master of the new zombie world. However, his luck was truly terrible; the only fatal tragedy in his life was meeting Wesker. As a genius, he unfortunately encountered someone even more perfect than himself, and this more perfect person was constantly appearing in his life. Even the most good-natured person would find it unbearable, let alone Alex, who wasn't exactly a righteous and upright individual.

↑【Crossed out】So the essence of this text is actually the love-hate relationship between Alex and Wesker, you stupid humans (picking nose)【Crossed out】

"...This is impossible!" Seeing that his attack had failed, a look of surprise appeared on Alex's face. Although the shattered tentacles had grown back barbs, he still found it hard to accept the fact that his tentacles had been blown up.

"Nothing is impossible; it's just that your level of thinking is too low for your stupidity," Wesker scoffed mockingly. His gaze remained fixed on another battlefield, and something seemed to have caught his eye, for a mysterious smile appeared on his otherwise indifferent expression.

“Looks like she did it…” Wesker continued, seemingly puzzled. “She would never accept being suppressed…”

"What…" Alex followed Wesker's gaze, and what he saw next made even someone with supposedly good composure suddenly shrink his pupils. Unfortunately, before he could see anything else, Wesker suddenly appeared behind him, forcing him to look away.

"Her ruthless disregard for her target is quite satisfying." The voice, seemingly coming from nowhere, was cold and merciless. The next second, the tide of battle turned...

It wasn't just Wesker and Alex's side that reversed the tide of battle.

The side effects of frequent use of her abilities finally appeared—Ye Xi, who had been fighting a guerrilla war, was captured. Afterwards, a barrage of attacks completely robbed her of her offensive capabilities, leaving even her defenses incredibly vulnerable. Then came countless cycles of injury and healing, healing only to be injured again—for someone with self-healing abilities, this was pure torture.

While the O virus could heal her wounds remarkably "considerately," each healing brought with it a nauseating, dizzying sensation. Although Ye Xi had grown accustomed to and almost completely ignored this feeling over the past three years, when it became too frequent, the habit became somewhat useless. Moreover—she didn't know what was wrong with her body lately—Ye Xi felt that even after healing, she still felt powerless when using her abilities, which was simply a disaster!

"How ridiculous, Ye Xi. You were so arrogant before, wanting to 'fix' Ethan, but now? Forget fixing him, you're about to lose yourself too..." Ye Xi thought bitterly, barely dodging the attack with a side somersault. If it were two or three years ago, when she first arrived in this world, she would definitely have been unwilling to accept this desperate situation. But now, for some reason, she suddenly felt that dying wouldn't be so bad...

Ye Xi felt exhausted, so very exhausted. She couldn't take any more of Umbrella's, Wesker's, or the government's torment. So what if she died? If she could go back, that would be even better. If not… well, these past three years had been fulfilling enough. She must have done something terrible in her past life to suffer like this. In her next life, even if she were to become some kind of damn chicken-flavored insect, getting bitten by Bear Grylls and bursting with juice, she wouldn't want to be tortured like this again.

As she pondered, a sentence suddenly popped into Ye Xi's mind—"You are mine, your life or death is in my hands..." So, involuntarily and subconsciously, she looked in Wesker's direction, and then, in a melodramatic twist—she discovered that Wesker was also looking at her, their eyes meeting...

Damn it, it's covered in dust and dirt! Is my Ye Xi used to being slapped or what? I'm not a thing... no, I am a thing... damn it, I'm not your little Wesker's thing, you fucking care whether I live or die, what the hell does it have to do with him if I want to die? Ye Xi, why are you looking at him with your eyes twitching!

Ye Xi gritted her teeth and berated herself. It was in this moment of irrationality that the monstrous Ethan seized the opportunity and struck down with his claws. Ye Xi, who couldn't dodge in time, was instantly riddled with three bloody holes!

"Ugh...cough cough cough..." Ye Xi's eyes widened, and she coughed up a few mouthfuls of blood. Before she could retaliate, Ethan swung his arm, and Ye Xi, who was stuck in his claws, was thrown away. She crashed into the wall before stopping, slowly sliding to the ground and leaving a bright red mark on the wall.

The pain of being pierced through is unbearable for most people, let alone for Ye Xi, whose pain receptors are highly developed. For a moment, she felt as if she was about to die, but the tearing pain tormented her from a semi-conscious state back to reality. The busy O virus re-emerged, and the three huge bloody holes in her upper body healed at a visible speed, soon closing completely. If it weren't for the bloodstains still being wet on her clothes, no one would believe that the blow had almost killed her.

However, although her body had healed, Ye Xi didn't feel fully recovered. The pain from countless injuries and healings piled up in her head, and Ye Xi almost felt like she was going to have another mental breakdown before being eaten. Ethan, no, the beastly guy who now only retained his bestial instincts, seemed to find it amusing to let his prey experience the thrill of death. Instead of killing Ye Xi, he waited until she recovered, then opened his mouth wide, and a slug-like creature shot out from it!

This scene was all too familiar… Ye Xi leaned against the wall, her vision blurry as she looked at the creature. Everything around her seemed to move in slow motion, as if she were remembering something, and she forced a smile. Wasn't this the scene from the final battle in Raccoon City, before her abilities first appeared? That time, her abilities saved her. And now? Her abilities were blocked, and dodging… she didn't know why, but her limbs wouldn't obey her; she couldn't move them at all. Had Ethan evolved some other ability?

Does this mean it's all over?

I feel a little unwilling, but also a little resigned...

But if she really dies, even if she goes back, her heartless roommates will laugh at her. They'll laugh at her for endlessly struggling to defeat the boss and blaming it on her slow internet, for dreaming about being unable to defeat the boss even in her own territory—that's just too pathetic… No, if she dies and can't go back, given Wesker's bastardly, sadistic, and despicable personality, he might do some heinous and horrific experiments on her corpse…

And if he really is gone, who will save Ethan, that idiot senior, from his predicament?

...Hey, when I said I was tired and didn't love things, it was just a casual remark, it doesn't mean I really want to die! I'm just unwilling to accept it...

I'm not reconciled!

Countless thoughts flashed through her mind in an instant. Ye Xi lowered her head, her messy hair obscuring her eyes. The monster's peculiar locking skill rendered her completely immobile. The fleshy, slug-like creature shot towards her brow like an arrow, simultaneously opening its serrated mouth... With a deafening roar, the small creature's explosive power was so great that it kicked up countless plumes of dust!

She was certain to die, but when the smoke cleared, they were astonished to find that the person leaning against the wall was completely unharmed—she turned her head slightly, and just one centimeter from her left ear, there was a dent bigger than her head! If only they had known, the wall was made of metal!

The person whose actions were clearly locked was still able to move! Even though it had lost its mind, the monster still let out a long roar of resentment, and then charged at Ye Xi, who was still sitting half against the wall... With another loud "boom", the monster smashed a large crater in the metal wall, and Ye Xi, who should have been pressed down by it, was standing perfectly fine behind it!

As Ye Xi slowly raised her right hand to tuck the messy hair behind her head, she looked up and turned to look at Ethan, who was pulling his body out of the pit. A faint smile appeared on her face, and a strange red light flashed in her scarlet eyes!

“I will free you, Ethan,” she said slowly, her clear voice carrying a hint of promise, even the faint smile on her lips softening.

Ethan, of course, couldn't understand what Ye Xi was saying. Seeing his prey had run up behind him without his noticing, Ethan grew annoyed and charged at Ye Xi again. A crisp clang rang out, like metal clashing, but neither of them carried any metal weapons—Ethan used his bare hands, while Ye Xi's military dagger was long gone. She was using a pair of dark red longswords. If you looked closely, you would be surprised to find that these swords looked remarkably like Miao swords, and they had no hilts—they emerged from Ye Xi's palms! And the color…it was clearly the color of blood!

Ye Xi's "dual blades" blocked Ethan's attack. Then, instead of retreating as before, she suddenly withdrew her right hand. Ethan's left claw immediately pierced her right shoulder, splattering blood. The long blade in her left hand suddenly disappeared, and the claw, now powerless, immediately slashed Ye Xi's slender neck. At the same moment, a dark red dagger suddenly appeared in Ethan's left hand, which was attacking his neck. It was swift and sharp, and actually slashed his neck!

Having succeeded in one move, Ye Xi did not hesitate. As if she could not feel the pain, she quickly took a step back with her right foot, turned her body to the side, and the claw that was stuck in her right shoulder had just withdrawn. The dagger in her left hand disappeared again. She moved down and grabbed Ethan's terrifying arm tightly. She did a somersault backward and twisted the hard right arm directly!

The monster cried out in pain, swinging its left arm in an attempt to swat away the culprit that had broken its right arm. But Ye Xi, as if anticipating his move, dodged the powerful blow. Ethan, somewhat unwilling to give up, opened his mouth again, and before Ye Xi could regain her footing, another slug swooped down, even faster than the first!

Ye Xi saw it, and she understood its destructive power. Her blood-red eyes narrowed, and instead of dodging, she charged forward, her hands once again conjuring those dark red blades! The slug blasted off her newly healed right arm and shoulder, but she didn't stop. Flying pebbles pierced her abdomen, but she didn't stop either! Ye Xi seemed oblivious to pain and fear, her speed increasing until she was nothing but a blur before Ethan. She leaped high into the air, her crimson eyes filled with a terrifying madness. Raising her single arm, a flash of cold light, her speed and ruthlessness were so great that she severed Ethan's long tongue before he could even close his mouth after launching the slug!

You think you're tough and have high defense so you can ignore defense? Ye Xi is even more ruthless! High defense doesn't mean you can't get hurt, and even if Ye Xi gets hurt, as long as she comes into contact with a virus, no matter what kind of virus it is, it will devour, decompose, and then heal her! Compared to madness, no one can compare to the ruthless Ye Xi. She is a complete madwoman who can even do what she does to herself!

This truly struck Ethan's weak spot. He attacked like a raging beast, completely unpredictable. However, with only his left arm, he was no match for Ye Xi in her rage. She easily grabbed his claws with her right hand, which had grown bone, and pushed him backward. The blade in her left hand shrank to the thickness of a needle, swiftly piercing his heart. Ethan, infected by the virus, was not actually dead like a zombie, his actions controlled by his brainstem. Therefore, his heart remained his fatal weakness…

Her right hand, now fully healed, could feel the claws trembling slightly. Gradually, the large claws shrank, transforming into a long, slender arm covered in scars. Meanwhile, her massive body continued to shrink, and her long golden hair slowly returned to its original state. Finally, Ethan, covered in wounds and naked, appeared before Ye Xi.

The crimson gradually faded from their eyes. Ye Xi looked at Ethan lying on the ground, slowly knelt down beside him, lowered her head, and silently looked into Ethan's warm and complicated eyes... She had been prepared for this scene, but when she actually faced it, her preparation seemed a little ridiculous.

"I...I really...was too greedy..." Ethan's speech was slurred and intermittent, his tongue injured by Ye Xi, and he would occasionally spit out a few mouthfuls of blood. But for some reason, Ye Xi understood him, and heard him very clearly. She silently wiped the blood from Ethan's mouth with her left hand, not daring to look into Ethan's gentle golden eyes, for fear that she would lose control and burst into tears.

"I just wanted to...see you again...just one more look...I'm...I'm sorry...junior...I shouldn't have been greedy...and I shouldn't have been tempted..."

"..." Ye Xi paused, wiping the blood, and lowered her head even further. She bit her lip, trying to ease the throbbing pain in her heart, but found it unsuccessful. This time, the pain was deep in her bones, even a thousand times more painful than when Wesker had extracted her bone marrow.

The pain caused her right hand to loosen, freeing Ethan's only movable left hand. He gently, slowly placed it on Ye Xi's face, his thumb tenderly wiping away the tears that Ye Xi had involuntarily shed. "Could you...could you look at me? Just...just for a moment..." she heard a voice so weak it seemed it would vanish with the wind at any moment.

Ye Xi's body stiffened, then she took a deep breath, slowly raised her head, and her moist black eyes met the sun-like golden eyes.

"If... I mean if... there's a next life... I... cough cough... could I... see my junior schoolmate one more time? Cough cough... just... cough cough... like in the beginning..." Ethan looked at Ye Xi pleadingly, coughing up blood with almost every word he uttered.

Ye Xi stared at his eyes, slightly startled, then her nose stung, and she almost cried again—Ethan, you idiot senior…you didn’t even dare to have any fantasies…you only wanted…to see me…can’t you sense that I’m no longer your Ye Xi? Bastard! What am I supposed to do with you like this! “Of course…you idiot…bastard senior…” Ye Xi gritted her teeth, trying her best to finish the sentence, gently placing her right hand on his left. Faced with such a foolish yet deeply affectionate man, Ye Xi found that she could only say this one sentence; the rest of the words were like stones stuck in her throat, impossible to utter.

Ethan's pupils contracted slightly, and then he smiled, a smile as warm as the early spring sun, but it was a smile that would be frozen in time forever.

—Silly girl, I knew all along you weren't my junior from elementary school, but what can I do, Ye Xi? I still love you…

Author's Note: I accidentally wrote too much, and splitting it into two chapters wasn't enough, so I'll just leave it at that... (picking nose) Don't doubt it, Ethan is definitely dead this time (picking nose). And so I realized I'm addicted to writing melodramatic stuff! QYNN is practically possessing me!! The action scenes are too fast, I'm running out of words!! QAQ Who will save my passionate soul?! (Get lost, do you even have that?!) Considering how hard I've worked, how miserable I've been, my hair's almost turned white (you're so shameless), please don't just lurk~ Give me a long review~ (Don't push your luck!) [crossed out] Maybe I'll get in a good mood and write some smut~ [crossed out] (Bribery is illegal!)
