Chapter 461 A Series of Traps

The saying goes, "Haste makes waste," meaning that things are more likely to go wrong if you rush into anything.

Just as the two sped up, randomly poking at the ground, trying to traverse the terrain...

Mark, however, overlooked a real trap ahead.

Fortunately, he was lucky and walked right past the trap.

But the three underlings behind him fared much worse.

Because the two men were leading the way, the three men relaxed their vigilance considerably.

After all, they're both fine, so as long as they follow along, there shouldn't be any problems.

But Peer, who was walking at the very back and on the far side, was right in front of the trap.

He didn't notice at all and stepped right onto the grass that was concealing the trap.

"Hey!"

The screams had no effect on his fall.

Because his right foot landed on the edge of the trap, his entire body tilted to the right.

Four or five sharp wooden splinters pierced his right ribs and armpit instantly, penetrating his internal organs.

Before Pierre could even scream, blood began to flow from his mouth and nose, and his whole body began to twitch slightly in pain, his eyes rolling back in his head.

This scene made the four people above stand on end, staring in stunned silence with grimaces.

Peel seemed to be using all his strength, instinctively reaching out to the four people, trying to get them to save him.

But no one offered a helping hand, because there was nothing they could do at that moment…

With multiple penetrating wounds like this, and internal organ damage as well, even if there's a hospital nearby, it's probably too late to save him.

Soon after, Pierre stopped convulsing, his hand immediately fell limp, and he lost all life.

Jeros frowned, looking at the lush green grass ahead, and then realized…

Ye Feng played a psychological game with him, and some of these traps were real and some were fake.

The fake traps they discovered earlier were meant to lower his guard.

They thought it was impossible for Ye Feng to spend so much precious escape time digging so many traps.

Unexpectedly, Ye Feng never acts according to logic, often doing things in ways that are beyond his control.

"Fuck! That damned, lowly yellow-skinned pig, I'm going to kill him!"

Jeros was so angry that he gritted his teeth and cursed loudly.

The game had only just begun, and he had already lost two of his men, and another one was still under investigation, possibly due to poisoning.

There are only three people and one injured person left in the team. If any more people are lost, then forget about winning the grand prize.

Despite his cursing, there were no good alternatives nearby, so he had his clothes and backpack removed and forced himself to keep going.

But the further they went, the angrier Gerald became…

In the next ten minutes, they discovered four more traps.

One part is real, and the other three are fake; moreover, every spike in the trap is coated with an unknown substance.

"Damn! How many holes did this kid dig?! Doesn't he even need to run away?!"

Jeros glanced at the large and small traps behind him that had been destroyed, feeling both angry and confused.

They've been here for almost half an hour.

With two people dead, they were moving at a snail's pace, cautiously searching for traps step by step.

We haven't even met Ye Feng yet, and we've already been trapped in his trap for so long. What a disgrace...

“Jeros, we can’t keep searching like this, it’s almost dusk.”

The weather in the Amazon is different from other places; once evening arrives, it gets dark very quickly.

We need to find a campsite quickly!

"I fucking know!"

Jeros replied impatiently, knowing all too well how terrifying the nights here could be.

After scanning his surroundings, he decided to stop exploring for the trap.

If Ye Feng really did set traps all over this meadow, it would take who knows how much time to search.

At this moment, Jeros had no idea that they only needed to clear four or five more traps to get through.

But to save time, he still chose the difficult route.

So he looked at the thickets of thorns on both sides.

Little did he know, Ye Feng had already anticipated his thoughts.

Having been blocked by both real and fake traps for so long, the pursuers will surely find another way.

The most efficient way recently has been this thorny path.

The four of them carefully parted the thorns with wooden sticks and slowly moved forward.

They were all wearing leg wraps and arm sleeves provided by the production team, so they were basically not injured.

To avoid scratching their faces with thorns, they focused most of their attention on the thorns.

The group walked a short distance but found nothing amiss.

That makes sense. With so many thorns, even if Ye Feng were cunning, he would never dig a trap here.

Who in their right mind would choose to walk through this difficult and dangerous thicket instead of the main road?

Gerald held a wooden stick in both hands, pressing down on the thorns with both hands as he walked forward step by step.

But just as he was about to see the end, his left foot stepped on a patch of grass…

The moment he experienced the feeling of weightlessness, he knew he had been tricked again.

His entire body sank halfway into the ground...

A second later, he felt a piercing pain in the sole of his foot.

"Ouch!..."

At the same time, the wooden sticks in his hands fell, and the thorns that had been pressed down bounced back instantly, hitting him directly in the face.

The thorns were much sharper than the wooden spikes Ye Feng had laid out; in the blink of an eye, more than a dozen thorns pierced his face and head…

It all happened so fast, in less than 3 seconds, that he felt pain in both his upper and lower body at the same time.

Fortunately, the thorns were thin and not very dangerous.

It's just a superficial injury at most.

Seeing this, Mark quickly called to Carey to pull him out of the pit.

Gerald's boots had rubber soles. So, there were two wooden splinters stuck in the sole of his left foot.

It's obvious that the sole of the shoe was pierced.

The circular pit is about 60 centimeters deep. Given the force of the fall and the weight of the person, it's not surprising that it reached this depth.

Mark quickly brushed aside the thorns sticking out of his face and asked:

"Jeros, how are you feeling? Did you break any bones?"

"I'm fine!"

Jeros ripped the two wooden splinters off his foot, his eyes wide with anger, and threw them away.

They hadn't even met Ye Feng in person yet, and he'd already tricked them again...

"These yellow-skinned pigs only know how to use these despicable tricks, just like those Yue Nan bastards!"

I'm going to chop him up and feed him to the fish! Don't worry about me, keep going!

At this moment, the four people were already on edge.

Now they moved even slower, pausing several times with each step, fearing they might encounter another trap…

That Ye Feng is far too cunning…

But they were actually quite lucky.

If it hadn't rained for most of the day, washing away the poisonous sap from the splinter...

Those few are probably already corpses...
